« Good hotel but service restaurant 24/24 missing  »

Good value for money but the advertised restaurant 24/24 was missing. Due to late arrival in Venise (weather forecasts) we arrived at midnight without having eaten before as we were supposed to land at 10:00 pm. Nothing to eat with a child of 8 years old it is a bit wired....

In general the hotel was good but unfortunately we experience a problem with our minibar (broken) and the attendee did not help us. My son was sick and we have a medicine that should stay in low temperature but when I asked help (fix the minibar, change the minibar or store my medicine in other refrigerator) the attendee told me that he can´t do anything. This is an isolated situation from all people that supported us in the hotel. After open a ticket at Novotel´s site they called us 23:30h offering to change the room but my kids were already slept so now they offered me to send the medicine to the restaurant´s refrigerator. I thought that they will fix the minibar or change our room the next day but nothing happen.

We only had one night at the hotel. It was nice. I was a little longer to get to Venice that I thought it was, but the room was great, the staff very helpful, plenty of parking place, good breakfast and close to grocery stores. A very pleasant experience overall.

« Dreadful......extremely rude staff. »

Staff very disrespectful and unwelcoming. From the check in to the bar staff it seemed filled with arrogant rude workers. Pool was shut at 7 I was informed when I took my children down for a swim at 7. Where does it say that in the hotel description. Playground was boarded and taped up. Room was hot unbearable could not sleep properly. Would not recommend this hotel. Bathroom had 1 soap for 4 people.

Spacious Room and Great Breakfast Buffet. Only negative - spent an hour waiting for the public bus not knowing there was a strike the day we were in Venice. It would have been nice if there was some notice to guests to let them know about this (as I am sure the locals knew about the strike).

Hotel is to far away from attractions and restarants. Also getting to the bus is very dangurous for tourist that are unfimilar with the area. Hotel needs to offfer a free or paid service to the Venice Center that runs 30 mins on the hour.

We arrived by boat from Greece with a long delay at 3 AM in the night. Night porter was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. Excellent room and breakfast.

« Hotels expect problem but do nothing to solve it »

When I use the telephone speed-dial keys to call the housekeeping, front desk and other, I find out that they are not working properly. I go to the front desk and ask about the matter, what I learn from your staff is 'the speed-dial keys are sometimes out of order. You may simply dial '9' to call the front desk'. Then I ask where I can find such information. The answer is 'you can come down to the front desk and ask'. What a ridiculous answer! When the hotel expects that the speed-dial keys are always not working properly, it should provide alternative methods to guests by telling what numbers they can dial to seek help. Such information should be written next to the room telephones. How can you expect guests come down to the front desk every time they are facing difficulties?

Check in was easy, my room was available when I arrived. Staff was really friendly and helpful explaining how to get around using public transportation. WiFi could have been a bit faster in the evening, but overall a very positive experience.

The check in and check out process we're efficient but could be done better with a smile. As a Platinum member, I did not received any privileges beside a welcome drink. All the potential upgrades was not given. I had much better experiences in all other Accor hotels elsewhere. Location is a bit isolated with some restaurants nearby.

« Short trip to Venice: handy base »

The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The general quality of the accomodation was up to our expectations. The only point of criticism is that they seemed unable to organise safety aspects when faced with a large number of guests at once (3 coachloads of tourists arrived at the same time and completely blocked access to the lifts and stairs: no-one seemed interested).

« Uninformed hidden charges »

The staff at the reception insisted on charging 100 Euros as deposit though is was not mentioned to me at the time of booking. Initially Danielle informed me that it is only a deposit and my credit card details will be taken but the amount will not be charged to my card. But to my astonishment the total amount of 100 Euros was immediately charged on my card. At the time of check-out I had to pay the hotel about 75 Euros. After deduction I was supposed to receive the balance 25 Euros from the hotel but I have not received the same inspite of being assured of it. The air conditioning at the hotel was non-functional. My complaint to the staff was attended after 2 hrs and nothing was done about it. I wish to forget my stay at Novotel Venice. Rajasekhar Pisapati

« Long weekend stayover »

We have enjoyed our stay in the hotel, the staff was also very helpful and nice! Two small remarks only:if you go to the bar, you cannot have your drink charged to your room - this is simply impossible. We have forgotten a small belonging in our room and have asked the staff to send it to us on our costs. They said that there is no such service, they don't do it. Too bad, it can happen to anyone and we would have even paid for it - but no way. :((
