The room and bed was quite small. I had to place the hotel telephone on the floor because the bedside table was so small that I could not even put my mobile there. 2 bottles of water were provided for 3 nights. The air-condition was switched off which turned the room into a sauna. I asked the reception about it and they said they had to turn it off because it was previously too cold and they need a service team to switch it on again. After 3 nights of heat it was still not running. Receptionist told us to open the window but since we were on the first floor we had all the street noise. Anyway, as soon as the sun came out it was getting very uncomfortable. On the positive side, the rooms very clean and hotel staff was friendly. Though the hotel is a bit off the main attractions, metro is nearby.

No heating! 2 out of 3 in our family caught colds during the stay! Never again!

Dear Guest, I am very sorry about your experience in our hotel and I do apologize to read your sentiment and feeling. Even if we have tried to assist you and your family the best we could! There hasn’t been any intention not giving you the customer service contact; as the first contact is me as the General Manager of the hotel, taking in charge all responsibilities and matters occurring inside the property and interacting in first person with the Clients for their wellbeing and comfort. This is what makes the difference in our hotel as you can also read through thousands for reviews. Surely we have disappointed your expectations and I do feel sorry for that. Unfortunately we are facing unusual weather conditions, from very warm to lower and vice-versa, forcing us to switch off the air conditioning and the heating, to guarantee the best comfort for all customers. The hotel staff has also informed me that you were offered to change room, declined by you, and also we have delivered all our personal attentions taking care of you and your family. Quiet hassle free stay. Room comes with complimentary water, fridge, kettle and a good size bathroom. Room also had up to date sockets with USB ports. Within a few minutes walk to the nearest Metro on Line B that gets you to the Colosseum or Termini within a short time where you can then change to Line A metro for other convenient stops to the main tourist spots. Also within a few minutes walk of convenience stores. Overall would stay here again

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mercure Piazza Bologna. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a very nice room with a large bathroom including a bath. The breakfast was excellent comprising a hot and cold buffet. The hotel is just 5 minutes' walk from the Bologna metro station only 3 stops from Termini, the main railway station. All of Rome's tourist attractions can be reached quite easily by public transport.
