When we entered the room there was a very strong smell of cuban cigars and an ashtray in the room (the ashtray was clean). Unacceptable to have smoking rooms in a chain hotel. it is no longer 1960s or 1970s it is almost 2020. The hotel needs a renovation. It is out of date and the bathroom wasn't cleaned well. I stayed at an Ibis before and I booked this hotel because I had confidence in the hotel company. I tried to change the room but the receptionist told me that I arrived too late (it was 11:00 PM) and there were no rooms available. We had a hard time sleeping.

Imi pare rau ca experienta in hotelul nostru nu s-a ridicat la nivelul asteptarilor dumneavoastra si va rog sa primiti scuzele din partea noastra. Va asigur ca vom lua toate masurile necesare pentru a rezolva acest gen de probleme si a preintampina aparitia altor evenimente neplacute. Feed back-ul dumneavoastra este foarte important pentru noi fiindca la Ibis Gara de Nord, depunem eforturi sa oferim servicii de calitate superioara pentru fiecare oaspete. Apreciem faptul ca ne impartasiti nemultumirea dumneavoastra si speram ca ne veti oferi oportunitatea de a va servi mai bine in viitorul apropiat. Since 2003 I always stay at Hotel Ibis Gara de Nord, when I go to Bucharest. This time I was offered upgrade to the apartment and on the last day I was allowed to stay in room until 7 evening. Thanks to their hospitality, I enjoyed my staying at Bucharest very much. Thank you.

I had a good experience in this hotel. Pros: it is very close to the main north railway station in Bucharest , Gara de Nord, which has connections to many attractions as well as other cities in Bucharest like Brasov. Their breakfast is great and staff is very friendly. TV has good selection of TV and radio channels. Rooms are spacious and have good sun. Air conditioning is pretty good. Cons: they should take more care of the cleanliness of beds and carpets .. they have two power outlets only which makes sometimes inconvenient when there are 2-3 people in the room.

I enjoyed the professional behaviour of the staff. The intervention they provided when the storm occurred in the country shutting down all network. I enjoyed the advice and the support of the front desk. Also for them to been human by providing water for guests. My concerns is the payment. The chain should stop sending confirmation of payment when actually payment is meant to be cleared on desk at arrival. It is very confusing.

The hotel is situated near the north station and the main means of transport. The room was clean and the breakfast was enough and good. The staff was polite and kind. The hotel is pleasant and you can easily visit the city center.

1. When I booked, I stated that I want to pay cash upon check-in. However, the website proposed to check-in online because it is faster and more convenient. But it did not say it will block the pay for the stay from the card. So when I arrived the pay was already taken from my card. The hotel accepted pay by cash and cancelled the pay from the card. But the money did not return to my account automatically. The hotel told me it is not their problem any more it is bank problem. This made the online check-in not more convenient but less convenient because I did not know how the pay from my card will return to my account. In the meanwhile I lost the receipt stating the card pay was cancelled so now I have to wait 30 days for the money to return to my account. 2. The toilet clogged after my wife used it and it was very embarrassing. Room 204. The hotel people did not offer access to another room for toilet. We has to wait for the technician to come. He came and repaired the toilet after 5 minutes.

Singurul lucru negativ este că hotelul miroase a vechi ( pe culoare, în camere). Cred că hotelul necesită o minimă renovare ( schimbarea mochetei- neapărat). The only negative review from my side: the hotel should minimum renovated ( the carpet to be urgently changed) . It smells like old. It is unpleasant.
