Booking and check-in were very easy. The room was clean and well-equipped, with a good wifi connection.The staff downstairs was very helpful. It was nice having a coffee maker in the room. The only negative was that i asked for a quiet room on a high floor, but was not given one high enough to avoid street noise.

Checkin was easy, the rooms were spacious, exceptionally clean, and I appreciate the consistent replenishment of drinking water in the room. The service team were like ninjas, they never disturbed me but kept my room well organized and looking brand new everyday. The turndown service's great touch of turning on classical music in the evening was fantastic. Very classy.

Hotel is lovely, clean, well-designed, and a great location. I was happy with my stay until check out when I was charged a $20 added per night "residence fee" which the assistant manager's email do me escribes as paying for the complimentary bike in the lobby, the complimentary bottled water in the room and the landline phone in the room. So, who uses the phone in a hotel and water is complimentary about a $20 bottle of water?? My company spent over $2800 putting 3 of us up for a total of 7 room nights. If the rooms were properly priced without without stupid hidden fees that I know have to apply for reimbursement for, it would be fine. But I'm not booking anyone from my organization at Accord hotels again.

I appreciate the personalised attention and welcome right upon arrival and until the departure. I really felt like at home. Especially the General manager Alexandra Byrne spares no effort in accommodating all our needs; the attention she pays to my "wellbeing" during my stay makes me systematically to return to Sofitel Lafayette Sq when in DC - and actually to go to a Sofitel in other cities as well.

I only used the hotel room to pump milk for my 7-week old baby, while I was in a meeting downstairs. It was a great room as always! It would have been nice to have had a place to put my pumped milk, but I couldn't touch the stuff in the mini bar without being charged. I ended up bringing a cooler into the city with me.

My son and I have been through one of the most tragic events that you can imagine - my husband, his father, passed away completely unexpectedly a few weeks ago. We needed to get away and my son asked to go to DC. Considering the stress and grief that we have been under, I wanted the trip to be extra special, so I booked the Presidential Suite (room 1114). I was completely underwhelmed by the room. For a total of $5,000 plus for 4 nights, I expected much more. At check-in (around 10:00 PM) I asked to have someone immediately come up to make up the sofa-bed for my son. That didn't happen. We left out to try to get food and expected it to be done by the time we were back - it was not. We couldn't find anything we really wanted so we decided to come back and order room service since they mentioned that it was available until mid-night. It took close to an hour for the food to be delivered, and then it was wrong. I immediately called back to ask them to fix this and they assured me that someone should be to my room within 5 minutes to get the wrong item and I should have the corrected item within 15. Nope. Never happened. I had to call AGAIN to find out when they were going to send someone and when I should expect a replacement. After another 45 minutes, I told them to forget it and just take it off of my bill. The next morning, we decided to try room service again. An order of sausage and the fruit requested where missing from the tray. It took another 20 minutes (when we were basically done eating) to get the missing items. The rooms are supposed to be cleaned twice a day with the 2nd including turn-down service. Of the 4 nights that we were there, we only received turn-down service once (on Saturday night). When the room WAS made up during the day, they NEVER put the sofa-bed up, so if we actually wanted to sit in the living room we had to put the bed up ourselves. Not a huge deal, but NOT what I expected from this particular suite. The last 2 days, the decorative pillows on the bed were not even put on the bed. They were left in a corner and for the life of me I can't understand why. Lastly, this suite (again, room 1114) had NO VIEW. None - it was horrible actually. Upon receiving my final bill I also noticed that we were charged for items from the mini-bar that we did not touch. I did walk down to speak with the person at the front desk (around 10:00 on Tuesday, 11/7) and pointed out what hadn't been consumed and said that she would take care of - my final amount charged did NOT reflect that change. Overall I wish I would've spent a little more to stay elsewhere (Willard, JW Marriott... something). I would NEVER stay at this hotel again because it just wasn't worth it. Even thinking about it makes me upset. A few bright spots? The doormen were VERY nice - I never had to put a hand on a door to get into or out of the building. And the bar/restaurant (on the left when you walk into the hotel) was nice and had great drinks with very friendly people. The location of this hotel is great, but there are a ton more not far away and I think you should stay there instead. All in all, I felt like I wasted $5,000+ and that truly sucks given our circumstances.

« Amazing Concierge but not much more »

Concierge was extremely helpful in planning our day as well as making dinner reservations. Room was nice and clean. However, we were surprise there was no turn down service in the evening. We also notice that there was no doorman or bellman at the front door at most hours. Usually hotels have someone to greet you in the morning or upon your return as well as help with taxis. At this price point, these little thing are expected.

« Lovely hotel, excellent service - some details lacking »

The room and amenities were lovely. I particularly appreciated the bath sheets or oversize bath towels. Note the following minor deficiencies: 1) No fold down service the first night? I was not in my room after 6:45pm? There was fold down the second night. 2) The closet light and the reading lights over the bed were burned out - this was promptly taken care of the next day after I reported the problem. 3) i was in room 1105 but the phone next to the bed was labeled 1108. This could cause confusion in an emergency situation. 4) According tho the Menu screen on the TV my room was not checked in - I could not review my account. 5) When UI tried to call a colleague checked into the hotel the front desk could not find his name. I called his cell phone and he was indeed checked in?
