My experience at this specific Ibis hotel was not good. Main reason: At check-in guests were standing in line to be served. All the guests were from Germany and speaking German. They were ALL requested to give their credit cards as guarantee for payment an only at the end of their stay. When I approached the desk the man serving me asked my passport. I am a WHITE South African and flluent in German with no accent what so ever. The moment he noticed that I am from Africa, I was requested to pay my hotel bill upfront and in cash. I find it totally unacceptable and discriminatory. Not the way how most German people treat their foreign guests. I wonder how guests of colour and from Africa feel when this happens to them?

On my arrival at the hotel last Monday evening I asked the receptionist (ms Stefanie Hoffman) to borrow a kettle and iron, as done on my previous stay. She said that the hotel required a security deposit of 20eur in order to land these items to guests; this was not asked to me the previous time I stayed at this hotel. So I asked ms Hoffman to write a quick note in which she was stating she received this deposit and she said she was going to bring the items to my room later on. I waited in my room but she didn’t come, and I had to go out so I told her when I passed by reception that I was going to pick up these items at my return, which is what I did. This morning while checking out I brought back the kettle and iron, and ms Hoffman said I never gave the 20eur deposit, that she only exchanged my money, that I was a lier and she had already spoken to her director and that they were in agreement. I believe you will be able to retrieve the security footage of when I actually gave this cash to her, that was on Monday September 10th at about 18:30pm, and I also am attaching the receipt (signed by ma Hofmann herself) in which is stated that I paid this deposit

This hotel is a decent place to stay in Wurzburg, especially for the price. The room was a little small, but it was comfortable and very clean. The common areas were also comfortable and clean, and the breakfast room was appealing and the breakfast good. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the city center, and so is convenient.

This was already the fourth stay in this hotel for us. Everything went well as we expected. Friendly reception, clean and comfortable room and beds. Delicous breakfast, good beer ;) Parking just the other side of the road.

« Nice looking hotel but... »

Nice looking hotel but no parking facilities and air conditioning not working. Only public parking available at a distance (and at a cost) not even a decent possibility of stopping in front of the hotel for (un)loading. AC not working at night is a serious problem when opening window is impossible due to a night club next door, very noisy the whole night

I have stayed at the Ibis Wurzburg many times, but I will not stay there again. My wife tried to telephone me from the United States several times, and she could NEVER get through to my room. The desk clerks usually did not answer the telephone at all, but, if they did answer, they never put the call through to my room. On one occasion, the clerk set the telephone down on the desk, and then completely forgot about my wife. My wife listened to the noise in the background for some time, apparently people eating and drinking at the bar/restaurant, and then finally had to hang up the telephone. This will never happen to my wife and I again! Goodbye Ibis Wurzburg!

We were back again to this hotel since we were satisfied in our first two stays. Attentive and kind receptionists, easy check in/out. Good beds and beddings. Clean room and bathroom. Perfect breakfast, it shouldn’t be missed. The neighbouring car park was around 10€ for a night. Easy walk to the old bridge and the old town. Sure, that we will come back again.

No drop-off parking at hotel. Biggest issue was with third bed in family room. A wooden ledge and metal bar overhang the fairly narrow bed making it unsuitable for either kids or adults - really poor design.

I own since years the gold card and business card of Ibis and I have been staying here at least once a year after the attendance of an exhibition. The staff is friendly as usual and rooms are clean with good breakfast. I feel quite comfortable whenever I stay at IBIS hotels.

The stay was enjoyable - rooms clean, bed very comfortable. I go to IBIS because they accomodate dietary restrictions withing their standard breakfast buffet so I do not need to worry about starting the day without breakfast :-)

The rating would be good, but you can only choose Average or Very Good, why TripAdvisor?! All was ok with the exception of the heating, it was somehow working but I guess the temperature is fixed by the hotel as changes on thermostat had no impact and was a little bit cold during the night. It's the same problem I had before in other Ibis or Novotel, they need to fix this heating issue. I initial wanted to review average, but I remember the breakfast was very good. :)

« Great for a stay in Wurzburg »

Really pleasant stay in the Ibis Wurzburg as normal. Room overlooking the harbour / river area on the 5th floor so well away from any traffic noise. Parking is in a public parkplatz about 50 metres from the hotel at Euro 9 per night (pay in hotel or it will cost you about Euro 14). Great stay, many thanks.

No information on how far it is from Railway station is indicated in hotel write up. Information on bus services to the hotel would be also useful. I requested a direct email address to Accor hotels customer services but they could not give me one. I requested information on how my accor card was still classic and not silver and could not get an answer. I used 2000 points to offset my hotel costs but cannot find out if that affects my efforts to reach silver card standard. I informed the staff of my difficulty in walking but was given room 119 which is the furthest from the lift. I was told it was a quiet room but the staircase door was outside room 119 and it constantly slammed all night disrupting my sleep. The room was very comfortable and clean but was not as warm as I would have liked despite increasing the temperature gauge.

Hotel was as expected, good. Price was very reasonable, however, an additional 12€ Parking fee spoiled the good experience. Might choose your neighbour B&B the next time around (similar prices and free parking)!
