« Convinient location but poor service »

I stayed here last week and disappointed by this hotel. In spite of my Platinum Accrohotels membership status I was not offered any room upgrade. Also, I did not find slippers, bath robe, body lotion, ect. in my room (normally, Novotel offers things like). Reception staff was pretty rude. Will never stay at this hotel in the future.

High quality services . The room was very clean, very functional, the breakfast was awesome, the staff very friendly and available for any request . The location is excelent, at 15 min walk to the Marienplatz . Many nice places in the neighborhood to go with friends in the evening .

Hotel is close to S-Banh and parks. 10 mins walk from Marienplatz. Big food store is near. Park is near. Quite place. The lobby is very big and have special room for kids. I am really satisfied with Novotel Munich City

This for me is a disappointing review to write as a loyal Accor club platinum status member. To put it into further perspective I have stayed 98 nights in Accor hotels so far this year: I have stayed globally in a whole range of Accor hotels over the years.To summarise: Potentially nice hotel spoiled by the less than stellar treatment of loyal customers.To be clear the hotel is a nice hotel. The general service staff are friendly and helpful (the maintenance people are very friendly and polite). The rooms are clean, comfortable and pleasant. The swimming pool is nice and clean. The breakfast is varied and plentiful.So what is the problem? The other reviews of this hotel hint at the problem. Sometimes they are good but sometimes they aren't. Why? It is (at least in part) because this particular Novotel does not quite seem to get what loyal customers seem to expect ... and what they expect by the way is not more than what the stated Accor membership benefits offer.For example, when I came in I was not offered a upgrade. For the first time ever, I had to ask. I was told it was because I had asked for two single beds. OK, not a problem - and I was totally fine with it other than having to ask. Then only because I asked about the upgrade the lady said "I can offer you the mini-bar as included in the room." OK. Thank you. But did I really have to ask? I was given a bar voucher without asking (thank you). I went to the room ... the first time ever I went to a room and there was no "goody tray" (even their no frills Ibis hotels are better better prepared for the top level of Accor membership). That evening we ate at the Hotel restaurant. I asked to charge the bill to the room. I was not allowed to. I had to go back to the reception and give my credit card. Again I was surprised, as a loyal platinum member they should have more trust in me. Did other Accor hotels in Munich trust me? Yes, I had stayed the week before in a Mercure in the south of the city without such problems.When I asked to extend my checkout time - the (different) lady at reception did not seem happy about it and said only until X. Then I said as a platinum member can I have longer please? She added 2 hours. No apology. An edge of rudeness.When I went to checkout the person (different) person at reception said "did you use the mini bar". I said "Yes, It is included". She: "No it is not". Me: "yes, it is". Then she checks some notes and says "Yes it is.". No apology.

« Not the best choice for frequent travellers »

The service received in Novotel Munich City was disspointing. As a Platinum client, we received no special treatment, as it is stated in Accor Platinum terms. The room had no amenities, which I've been told is the policy of the hotel. I understand that saving costs is important, but when we are used to having a different standard in other 4 stars hotels, this is disappointing. Moreover when we did not get a room upgrade (as the hotel as full), it would have been good to get something else in return (e.g. amenities). The front desk was polite, but not customer friendly. At breakfast at the bar, there was every day a different standard. I specifically asked for a quiet room, but the room we got was facing a very loud side, where every morning there was noise from trucks.Following my stay, we have not received the correct points to my Le Club accor account, and no reply to my e-mail... I would not recomend this hotel as a first choice, there are hotels which offer much better services both in Munchen and worldwide. (in Munchen I woud recommend Novotel Arnulfpark for a better service)

Hi, after long time, I am very disappointed, me also my IBM colleagues, about personnel and Novotel Munich City services, even if I have a Gold status member and book almost weekly Novotel, I have not advantages. I don't receive welcome gift, I have a small room or dirty, i can't early/late check-in/out, I have bees in my room and I was bitten. Overall not only me, but my colleagues also are dissatisfied.
