Very friendly helpful staff. We have a new born and it was made very easy for us. Room was a bit warm and temp couldn’t be adjusted but everyone tried to help and offered us a room change which we appreciated.

I was staying for 3 nights on a business trip. The room was spacious, bed comfy and shower was great. One thing that was lacking is the provided bottle of water (even though I believe that is the AccorHotels standard for standard room). More vegan/plant-based options for breakfast would be great (or at least having it marked properly) as it took me a while on the 1st morning to figure out options. On the last day, my room was not serviced (got back to the hotel at 4pm). Housekeeping came to check if servicing is needed at 4:30pm which was too late. Gym is basic but does the job when traveling. Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are definitely a plus. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Complicated : - Access to the swimming pool required filling a form which has not been told during ckeck in. Conclusion : when you go in your swimming suit and the door doesn't open, then you need to go to the reception, fill the form, etc... I stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, it is the first time I have to fill a form to access the swimming pool - Charge a drink from the bar to your room : you need to request a pre-authorization at the reception. So when you are at the bar, you can't pay the bill... you go to the receptionist who ask you to go in your room to get your credit card... At which point, better to pay with the card. I stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, it is the first time I am not able to charge a drink on my room - My WC has not been cleaned for 48 hours... So overall... very mitigated experience not to say worst.

Friendly staff in a Modern, Central, relaxing hotel and the selling point was the pool for us.

Our stay was very relaxing and the whole staff was extremely helpful. We liked the room overall, although there can be a bit of work done to repair the safe box, some of the cupboard doors as well. Wellness facilities were at very good level despite this not being the hotel's main focus.

Arrived approx 1pm and they had a room ready without knowing our arrival time. The room was very spacious, clean and comfy. I had a very specific request for the room service team and they delivered it perfectly. The breakfast, restaurant and bar were well priced and excellent quality. Could not fault the stay at all.

For the money we paid we didn’t expect to have such a good stay. The rooms were very modern and nicely fitted out and we had a nice view of the castle. Breakfast was probably the best hotel buffet breakfast I’ve tried in a hotel in UK. The staff in all departments were all very nice and worked really hard to deliver a good experience for us as guests. We will definitely stay here again.

Efficient, friendly welcome. Basic double was a spacious room, good bed, sofa/sofa bed, reasonable shower, separate loo, reasonable lighting and mirrors, and everything worked. Pool and steam made my trip.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. I had two problems with the hotel, the heat of the room was broken and when I complained about it they offered me a drink because they did not have another room that matches my reservation... That was awful... I got very upset about it and they decided they had another room to relocate my family. Ok. We did have dinner at the restaurant a few nights and when we checked out they did not have all the receipts that we signed so they decided to charge for the receipt they had. Now I found another charge on the credit card for a value that MAY be from the dinner but did not receive the receipts to confirm it yet, so I look forward to receive those on my email. It was the best of all hotels we stayed in of our 8 week holidays in Europe. There was one minor thing, the sauna was not hot enough and that’s all. Everything else was perfect.

Overall the stay was fine for myself and my sister for one night, we discovered parts of the old town we didn’t know about, the beds were comfy (though quiet narrow and the duvet was not very wide), the communal areas we nice and modern and the room was clean and warm. Downsides: the shower overflowed every time and water would flood onto bathroom floor, there was a very loud dripping noise from outside our room for most of the night it was raining however I do think there was some kind of leak or something dripping onto the glass roof below. The swimming pool changing room was very small and impractical with a mat on the floor which really hurt bare feet. Also the fridge filled up with water when used! It did the job for one night though.

The hotel looks nice and is centrally located. However, I feel like my health was uneccessarily put at risk because it turns out this hotel has a humidity/mold problem which basically made me spend a an entire miserable night where I could not breathe correctly and kept coughing. I'm not usually asthmatic to the point that I need to carry my inhaler with me, but it's lucky that I still brought it with me on my trip or it could have been even worse. I had to talk to reception several times to get a different room (supposedly there weren't any left) and then I didn't even get any sort of compensation to make up for my troubles. And then, they practically admitted that this mold/humidy issue (which by the way makes the bathroom stinks) is an actual known issue in other rooms.... On top of that in my original room, the cleaning clearly was not really well done (stains of sparkly nail polish still present in the sink when I first arrived was a really obvious one guys)....

This is the second time we have used Novotel Edinburgh, the first was Park and we stayed in the centre this time. Due to a minor mixup, I had the pleasure of a free parking space which was very well presented on arrival. The front staff and senior management throughout both hotels are extremely accommodating and treat you as you would expect. I am always very impressed with their manner and also their approach and to help you. The rooms are great, the food is excellent and the facilities. Just the sauna was a bit cold this time at the centre hotel I think due to a hole in the wall but overall we are all very satisfied and will be back again. They cater very well for families and dogs ! This is how all hotels should be. Thank You again to all the team, you work very hard to provide a great customer experience. Mr Kerr F.
