On arrival we were greeted by a delightful lady who gave us a complimentary upgrade on our room and made sure we were well informed on the hotel and area. The room was lovely and clean and had loads of extra luxuries like a coffee machine and tv ports on the wall. The bed was amazing and the foldable pillow is one of the comfiest I've slept on! Thanks for a great stay!!

Perfectly sized room with top class sound proofing (hotel is on busy road), which also applied to inside the hotel. A gym that is well equipped and well maintained, and included a sauna and steam room. Breakfast/breakfast ingredients was of better than average quality. As a coffee addict, I appreciated that the hotel services a full pot of very drinkable brew (as well as offering the option of using a machine). 24/7 room service with good choice of food and drinks. Decent wines at bar, albeit small selection. Staff was friendly and helpful. I only had one concern was that, on the one occasion that I needed to contact reception (because the hotel's steam room was overheating, pumps not sounding healthy at all, with steam pouring into adjacent rooms), it took 5 attempts over 10/15 minutes before someone answered. (minor point: my invoice had someone else's address entered)

Excellent service at the front desk. Housekeeping staff need to knock before entering the rooms of guests. We had the housekeeper come in our room 3 times. Wasn't too happy with that.

« Good location - a few things let it down »

The hotel was in a good location. Our original room had a bathroom with clear glass separating it from the bedroom. Some people may like this - I don't. It was changed without a problem. I checked in on line - but that is pointless if there is only 1 receptionist and there are people in the queue with queries/problems. One lift was broken for our entire stay - Fri to Sun which meant we had a 6 minute wait for the lift on Saturday morning. We used the stairs after that but we were on the 5th floor! I realise it is always more difficult at the weekend but a hotel chain of such size should be able to call on a lift engineer to repair in a speedier timescale. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. Glass of wine seemed expensive and ridiculous to add a service charge on top! We were stood at the bar - so the only service involved was to fill the glass and take the money!

« Good overall but a few issues »

The room was clean and the service was great (overall). My only issue would was that I booked a queen size bed but without asking, my partner was given a made up sofabed as an extra bed as we are a same-sex couple. There didn't seem to be any apology from the staff about this when it happened which was a little sad.

Generally satisfactory except for the ironing board. With the plate and iron attached to the top of the ironing it was almost impossible to iron trousers and shirts. This was a very BIG negative and detracted substantially from my assessment of the hotel. I have stayed in a lot of hotels (including Accor hotels) and none of them had such a useless ironing arrangement.

Room was really small and with two kids - there was no space to walk. Found wardrobes and toilet areas also too small - fitting in for 4 days in that room was difficult. Location was excellent and breakfast was amazing. Staff was also very nice.

There was a very terrible smell in the first room I had stayed in and I had to ask to change my room after I discover red stains on one of the pillows (I think is was blood). I asked for an upgrading my room because of my gold membership status and was denied. So, I had to pay more to upgrade to my room. The drain in the bath tub was plugged in the second room and the water start to accumulate very quickly and fill the bath tub because of bad drain (when I take a shower). I called for maintenance but they could not fixed it. I would not consider this hotel in the future.

Bathroom cleanliness poor. Loud droning noise of "Plant" going all night over room 327. Were charged an extra £10 to be upgraded -- to what ? Could not operate coffee maker in spite of instructions. Have stayed in many hotels all over the world in our 80 years. This was the first shower we were unable to operate ! Sorry. Disappointing as this was a special trip to London to celebrate our 57th. wedding anniversary.

Great location, friendly staff. Nice room overlooking Shard. First impression however toilet sinks on reception filthy and looked like someone had washed their hair in them! Our sofa bed collapsed on 2nd night luckily with no injuries. Not enough breakfast Sunday morning.
