« Let down again »

This was my third time staying in this hotel this year due to the convenience of location and for the price. The hotel ticked all the boxes first time around hence why I returned to stay here. I did have a not so great experience second time but thought i’d give the hotel another chance. Me and my friends stayed for 2 nights and the room was clean. The main downside of the room was that it was not getting warm even with the heating cranked up! After the first night I got up on the bed to check the vents and there was cold air coming out even with the heating set on 30! At this point we were running late so did not have time to contact reception but I left the heating on hoping on our return it would warm up. We came back to the hotel around 6pm and the room was still cold. I rang reception and was told someone was being sent to take a look. In the 2 hours we took to get ready to go back out no one came. We thought they would sort it whilst we were out and came back at 2am still to a cold room.

We found a great deal. We stayed only for two nights but it was incredible. The room was big and comfortable, everything was perfect.

The experience was ok overall, on the first day entering the room 625 I noticed a bad sewer smell in the room. I thought it was temeporary but it was there it is mostly noticeable when Entering the room.

OK. The lobby is under construction and I wish this was noted on the reservation site. The hotel converted to a new software system and the staff had great difficulty with it. Probably indicates that upper management had a very poor implementation plan.

« One night stay »

We just stayed one night, so can't say much. Reception area could be a better organised although the refurbishments going on: boxes, food and drinks everywhere. Receptionist on check-in seemed a little bit confused about what to do ( I booked staff rate being a colleague) and probably tired after the long day. On the other hand room was comfy, great breakfast and a nice check out done by your Le Club ambassador (I can't remember the name, but he has glasses and he was very friendly).

« A different Novotel »

Not as good as the Tower Hill hotel. Temp entrance and reception staff who may have been inexperienced. Firstly I was advised that my stay had been paid for which it had not and I queried that. This was corrected. I was upgraded which was nice as Gold member. There was no welcome gift in my room. Upon check out I confirmed that my bill would be sent to my normal email which happens when I stay in any Accor hotel. I am still waiting some 5 days later. I cannot expense until that happens. My Accor points have not appeared either. I still don't even know whether I have paid for my accommodation.

If you’re not interested in location, cleanliness, pleasant cooperative staff, reasonable rates, and having an amazing time then don’t consider Novotel London City South, because that’s exactly what you will get at this amazing Hotel. Our stay was made exceptional by the staff; it started at Reception, continued with Housekeeping and ended in the Restaurant and of course the Bar. I can not recommend the Novotel London City South enough.
