« Short but nice stay in Cusco Novotel »

A very comfortable stay in one of the Colonial rooms. The staff is very helpful, and I would rate them very high on customer service. Very nice breakfast in the courtyard. The location is also great as it is very near the Plaza des Armas, the main plaza with lots of restaurants and shops around. Highly recommended

I traveled with a small group of friends. I could not get a room on the same floor where the rest of my group stayed (four rooms). Initially, I was placed in a room with the view completely obstructed (almost no daylight, below the street level). When I asked for a change of room, I received nicer room and apology.

The room 101 was not as a four-star hotel room as expected. The bathroom is like a public toilet/shower room. Also we were advised that because the room was booked via Booking.com, there's no complimentary water in the room. I've been booking hotels on Booking.com for many years and this is the first time that a hotel doesn't offer complimentary water.

« I think it is an adequate hotel but I was not happy with the service »

I stayed there twice. The first time for 2 nights, left one night and then was back for another night. As a platinum Accor member I have become used to some things. Firstly to be greeted warmly, thanking me for My continued loyalty. Another is being given a room upgrade and if that is not possible at least an acknowledgement and apology that they can’t. Neither of these things happened and when I mentioned it I had the feeling that they could not care less. On my return for the one night I was told I was upgraded (after I made a fuss previously) however my “upgrade” consisted of a different room type (Colonial) however the room was tiny plus it only had a double bed when my original booking was for a Queen. I didn’t bother to complain as I knew they wouldn’t do anything about it. This has to be the worse experience i have had since being an Accor member. I don’t usually provide feedback but I felt strongly that I should on this occasion. I had the feeling that they didn’t care at all as they had a captured audience and didn’t need to go the extra mile for their “valued” guests.

« Great location, good overall service »

Rooms very good size, bathroom too small compared to main room & could be modernised. However majority of staff were pleasant. Had one unfortunate incident with a staff at concierge whom was very rude when getting our luggage. When he got our hand luggage out of storage for us, instead of politely handing it over to us, he put it to the side of the hallway & just pointed to it. The impression he gave was that he was unhappy that we wanted to take our own hand luggage to the rooms & hence there would be no tip for him!

« Great property and some staff - let down back lack of management presence »

Enjoyed the location, the ambiance of the property and the Colonial Room. Some good service by lady in the restaurant. Just did not see management presence engaging with guests. As Platinum member would have expected during 4-5 day stay some interaction. Let me feeling very cold - all gust facing activity seemed to be done by concierge! I believe I got an upgrade and grateful for that. No welcome drink voucher or goodies in the room or wlecoming letter from manager thatvone gets from even an IBIS! Take a look at maangmeny - this property shouod be a standout for you. But your management is not making an effort!

« Mixed feelings »

The room was OK. Good bed / mattress, linens very clean. Room and bathroom overall very clean. A/C - heater didn’t work properly. We had to open the window at nights. Overall we liked the room and the fact that the hotel could accommodate the three of us in a colonial area room. The hotel is in a great historic building, similar in distribution to the ones where Marriott is located (or Westin). Nevertheless, Novotel has not taken advantage of this strength. Decoration could be immensely better. The common areas, lobby, etc. are not as pleasant and nice as could be. With a good decorator with taste the common areas in the building could be wonderful, giving the guest a much better experience with not much investment. Also, common area bathrooms and overall common areas were not clean. My wife found toilet paper in the bathroom all around the trash on the floor because the trash was full. Breakfast was not great either, very plain normal. Could be a bit better. The same as the whole restaurant infrastructure, very simple, and could be more comfortable and again, much better decorated. Common areas need a bit more of love and care. Employees were kind enough and attentive. Food in the room menu was a bit overpriced, we did not eat at the hotel apart from breakfast. O recommend you take a look to Marriott or Inkaterra Urubamba to have an idea of the potential of the building with a proper decoration and care. I thing it is not a matter of money but of finding the right decorator and then the right administration for a good maintenance. I truly believe that you are not leveraging the potential of your building. I hope this comments are useful. Again, our experience was good, but the poor conditions in the common areas was frustrating, with all the potential it has. Thanks for receiving us and for your kindness. Best, Juan Diego D.

Good location and friendly staffs. The concierge guy helped with the check in process and served me with Coco tea once I arrived. The staffs are really honest, I left my money in the safe after check out and the concierge staff returned to me right when I went back to the hotel.

« Nice stay at Novotel Cusco »

I travelled with my wife and overall we had a nice experience at Novotel Cusco. Some things could be improved though. The hotel proposed a pick-up service at the airport for 15USD, however we had to wait 20 minutes for the person to come and this is twice the price of the taxis that the hotel calls to drive people back to the airport. Also I asked the reception desk the day before my depart if we could have a late check-out as our flight was at 8PM. The person confirmed it was possible, but the next day at 11AM I recieved a call from reception saying that I had to leave otherwise there would be a surcharge. In the end, they let us stay until 12:30 because we needed timet o pack. I'd prefer that they told me upfront that the late checkout was not possible. However, let me finish with a positive comment about the concierge who recommended nice restaurants and booked them for us.

« Overpriced for an average hotel »

We expected more from our stay but ended up being disappointed. The staff was very professional, polite and nice. Good point for that. The hotel is getting old and the room are very expensive for this quality. There is no soundproofing in the room which is very annoying during the night. We heard every single person who entered or went out of their room.
