My friend's room was upgraded though he made a reservation through third party. I made a reservation at the official website but the room was not upgraded. That explains everything.

good location and nice histolical old building. i stay twice and first stay at room 321 which has very thin wall with 322 where noisy people during night. complained it and hotel give me 330 for 2nd staying. complimentaly water is only for first night which is not nice.must each day.

The hotel was very nice - an exceptional building. The restaurant was a bit dead. My wife and I were the only ones eating, although it was around 10pm. The food (burgers) was very average. We only stayed one night. We were due to be picked up by a taxi at 12.45PM to go to the airport the next day. I called reception at around 11pm on the day of arrival to see if we could have a late checkout. I was astounded to be told that check was 9AM. We had only arrived at around 9PM from Machu Picchu and were paying over $450 for a premium room for one night with our children. The duty manager said that we we could have a check out at 10.30, saying that people were coming at 11AM. He said all hotels in Cusco have such check outs. Initially I accepted that. Still in a state of shock, I called back, and I told him I was angry that I had not been told that check out was 9AM when I checked in (and said 'who checks in at 11AM?'). It seemed I was being kicked out of a premium room because somebody was checking in early. I said I have never stayed in a Novotel with such an early check out. I could not have expected it (I have been an Accor member for decades) from staying in previous Novotels and there was nothing about a 9AM checkout on the website (I just checked - it says 11.AM on the website). The duty manager said he would see what he could because we were in one of only two rooms like the one we had and would call back. When he called back he asked if I was an Accor member (which I had said to him I was), he had managed to move things around (quite what that meant I don't know) and that I could have as long as like, until my taxi came at 12.45PM. In the end we checked out at around 11AM I think and went for a walk before coming back to wait for the taxi. This was an unnecessarily stressful event and made us feel distressed on our last night in Peru. It was not the experience would normally expect from a Novotel.

Overall, my stay was very comfortable and the service was good. I wish all rooms had breakfast included though since some in our party had to pay and others didn’t.

Nice to come back to Novotel Cusco, located in the historic city center of Cusco; all inside a 16th century building. We stayed twice, before and after our trip to Machu Picchu. I recommend you to stay 2-3 nights before your trip to Machu Picchu and book your stay at the Novotel! Its a wonderful place to stay in Cusco with amazing service!

Great experience. Loved the central lounge area and the coca tea on arrival. Walking distance to attractions within the city. We were able to leave our luggage with the concierge whilst we traveled to Machu Picchu and then returned for another night at Novotel

The hotel is nice and has all you need. I got a nice room with high ceiling. not very big but ok.But I had booked a tour to Machu Picchu and got a pick up time at 03:00. I was up at 2:15 and got ready and 03:00 in the lobby. At 03:30 I was still not picked up, then the concierge helped me to call the tour company. It is at this time they find and give a message from the tour company the told me that the pick up was changed to 06:30. That ruined my whole day.
