I felt that too many corners were cut in this accommodation. Small things were missing that made the whole experience feel cheap and mean. For example, a stick instead of a teaspoon, no cups for coffee or tea, only a glass in the bathroom. A thin blanket on the bed, no additional blankets or quilt were provided. I was cold. Having to pay for wifi access - I have not encountered this anywhere else in Australia or Europe. Very penny-pinching. The corridors of grey, chipped doors are depressing and feel institutional. I am so tired of grey everywhere I stay in Newcastle. Even just painting the doors a cheerful colour would make a huge difference. That said, the young man on reception was helpful and cheerful, though dealing with a difficult situation of a guest stuck in the lift. Several of my colleagues were disturbed all night by a loud party going on in the bar on the first floor. I think there may need to be a balance between allowing guests to unwind and enjoy themselves, while allowing others to get some rest.

The staff were friendly and helpful and overall I enjoyed my stay. However the lift was not operational on the night I arrived (it has been out of order other times I have stayed at this same hotel) and I was placed in a room on the top floor necessitating a walk up the stairs with bags to the 4th floor. The other thing that was not ideal is that I received a message to check in online however this didn't expdite my check in at the hotel at all it seemed so I am not sure what the purpose of checking in on line actually is.

dodgy area, dodgy room

The room set up was a little strange. It felt like there was a portaloo built into the room. There were a few strange looking characters lurking inside and outside of the property, that had just been to the meth clinic across the road. I would suggest you actively move these people off your property if they are not staying with you, for guest safety. A couple of my group (females) were scared to head back to the property alone in the evening

We were treated so well, given delicious fudge and beautiful flowers upon arrival, the staff were very warm, friendly, accommodating and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were very clean too.

Staff were very friendly. Rooms were small and attention to the small things needs addressing. Three pillows on a double bed, should be four, only two tea bags, cups and glasses were so small, no tea spoons just a stick, no extra like wine glasses, water in the fridge. Bathroom pod was small and difficult to move around. However, the room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. With this type of hotel chain you expect a little move.

I stayed for 3 nights when in Newcastle for a business trip. Hotel Staff - warm and friendly with a positive attitude Room - Clean and had all the basics only complaint was the cleaner did not replenish the milk for the coffee station Restaurant - Good prices and good quality food Would definitely stay here again

Bathroom unlike anything I've seen before in a decent hotel. A plastic module dropped into a hotel room. Carpets very stained. Breakfast was lackluster and cold. Staff were very friendly, lobby area generally nice and set up well
