We love stopping at Valladolid. It's very handy for the motorway, and easy to park. Reception is always so friendly and welcoming, and the meals in the restaurant get better every time we visit. Perfect with a bottle of Ribera del Duero! One of these days we might actually get to visit the city!

We stayed one night while travelling from Portugal to Santander. The hotel is in a convenient location, and is clean, the staff were very helpful this time. We booked two rooms and had a pet. On this occasion, a good stay We stayed twice at this hotel, on our way down earlier in the month and the service was poor. Reception was rude, and in the restaurant we paid for the 2 course meal offer and we were served our first course and forgotten about. After twenty mins or so we had to remind the waiter.

The restaurant should be called a cafe. Very limited menu and not very exciting. You get more choice at most road side restaurant on you journey, stop for a meal before you get to the hotel. If you get a room at the back keep you're windows shut. There is a truck carpark at the rear and they are in and out all night. The TV. Come on Ibis get into the modern world. 5 English channels only 3 tuned in. No sport, no films, no good. Room. For 2 people but only 1 chair and that was an old fashioned school chair. The room is big enough for 2 descent chairs. You would be more comfortable sitting in you car. Breakfast. Again not much choice. Overall. Its not bad for a stop. If you want to get there an hour before bedtime, have a nightcap, go to bed and get up and go its fine.

Dear PHILIP , Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the ibis Valladolid. I am happy to read that the staff did it ok and you were happy with that. That´s very important for us. Regarding the restaurant we have the standard menu offered by the chain and we add two more dishes in addition to that. We have a no very complicated menu to ease the election of your dinner. It might seem a bit short in comparision with a restaurant from downtown but you can have at our hotel pizzas, burguers, fishes, pastas, chicken, beef etc. We have aswell a selection of snacks available 24 hours. You talk about the choice of TV channels. We have obviously most of the channels in Spanish, but you still have 5 channels in English, (BBC World, CNN int, CNBC Europe, Bloomberg and Russia Today), in room 224 too, Italian, German, Portuguese, French and Arab channels. If you were missing Netflix or HBO I am sorry we don´t have them at any Ibis in Spain. I would be great for our guests to enjoy them but unfortunately not for the moment. I will point that out to the marketing department because I think it is a very good idea. The hotel is located as you well said in a transit place. We just finished today fixing all the windows to make them more isolating. But is true that there are quieter places to built a hotel, but we have to be where people need us, next to airports, train stations or noisy city centres. And because of that we try to make our hotels the more traquil and quieter as we can, with good maintenance and care. I know that this hotel is not a state of the art hotel but we keep it tidy, clean and well maintained. Hopefully we will have a refurbishment shortly meanwhile we have to keep working hard to make your stay memorable. Regards Jesús del Barco General Manager. Sincerely,

A once good hotel gone downhill

We found we could not sit in the lounge area as the only table left had been reserved for someone for dinner so they could eat with their dog present. Breakfast was a shambles, there was hardly any food left at 0830, we managed to get the last baguette and scraped jam from the jar, little choice of anything else only one piece of tortilla, a fellow g. asked for more bread but was told there was nothing else other than on the buffet. I complained but was met with a shrug and was simply told we have a problem, I asked for a refund of breakfast but was met with silence, the staff member was extremely surly. We have used this hotel on several occasions but never again, your promise to make me smile was not met.

A formerly good hotel gone downhill

The accommodation was OK but some of the staff were downright surly (despite wearing jumpers stating they were in the smiley team) Our biggest gripe was that at 0830 the buffet breakfast was stripped there was hardly anything left and no more food was provided, we managed to get the last baguette and a scrape of jam. A fellow guest asked for more rolls and was told that was it as they had a problem. I complained and met with the same response from the surly receptionist. No offer to make anything right, or explanation or offer of a refund. We use IBIS hotel regularly and have stayed here several times and have never had a problem. We will not use this hotel again.

All very good, only issue was that the breakfast was below standard, as the hotel had problems with their ovens that led to very limited bread being available. As a result we opted not to have breakfast there.

Tired and dirty NEEDS A REFIT

Come in Ibis / accor. You've updated lots of other hotels. The rooms are grim. The lights all buzz in every room (we've had several rooms the past few years) as have energy saving bulbs the wrong voltage. Corridors are dirty and old fashioned (get rid of artex!!) And the restaurant area really out of date with old dirty worn furniture. Breakfast cereals on displayed in small sacks with guests coughing and spluttering all over them .
