The stay as usual was satisfying. However there was a small hiccup in the stay that the water heater in the room for the coffee/tea was not in working condition. The electrical items in the room should be inspected on a daily basis by the housekeeping personnel to ensure that they are in working condition.

room assignment was twin bed, not king as booked. Booked superior, room had a leak in the bathroom, smoking(I was not asked). Terrible experience

« Satisfactory only, would only just scrape in as a 3* hotel in my book. »

Check in was embarrassing, I queued for 10 minutes while a supervisor just stood there and looked at us. Someone walked in and straight up to her she served them in front of eight people waiting! The public/common areas were quite well maintained. The rooms were ten years past their best. The furniture was old and worn. The bathroom was the worst, damaged fitting, shabby and in need of renovation not hot water in the basin tap.. The lifts appeared to have two overlapping call buttons ? Had to wait ages to get a lift from the 11th floor in the peaks. Why do you allow smoking in the public areas, disgusting ! my clothes stank. Basic pasta items on the menu in Al Beida restaurant not available.

« Bedroom needs to be be modernise because furniture is old and used. »

Hotel reception area and staff are very good, restaurants food is good, hotel service is very good - but the bedroom decoration and furniture is old, wall colour (red) is not visually good, pictures on wall are not visually comfortable and overall bedroom does not feel or appear comfortable (however the actual bed was good and comfortable).

From when we were collected at the airport with the shuttle till we lefy the hotel the hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating, the reception were so professionnal and and helpful even if english was not the first language, they made us feel right at home.

« A not so typical mercure-like experience I'd expect »

First of all I dont see any difference between normal guest and platinum members. We all go through same check in procedure. First time I experience something like this given the amount of loyalty I dedicate to accor hotels. I do not get room upgrade, or even being let known that upgrade was not available because of xxx etc.. No welcome gift like fruit basket etc in the room as I would normally expect. Smokers exist everywhere in the lobby so I feel sorry for non smokers. Even I went out for smoke rather than inside. The room cleaners are very nice. The staff at receptions too. The restaurant staffs are OK. The gym is good but the pool I think is not so clean. I dont know why but after more than 50 hotel stays throughout the years I can tell from clean pool or not. Overall, I am ok but I expect a hotel of mercure's reputation would be able to offer a lot more. I am not dissatisfied at all, it was OK, but it does not reach to level where I would say I am satisfied. I am not a tough customer, I am loyal to accorhotels, and I would settle even for IBIS hotel as you can see from my booking history. I understand, maybe in Algeria, its a different case. Either way, what they could not make up for improvement (old building/furniture/facilities), they can make up with customer service satisfaction I am sure.Even a little effort goes a long way, especially for me, and I am sure its the same for most platinum members.

As stated above. We'll handled by the desk team for my check in. On the other hand I was very disappointed when the shuttle refused to drop me to the airport at 5PM last 20.09.2018 I was first in line an a group of ladies took my turn and the driver refused to take me or come back. I was thus obliged to take aa Taxi. As a gold member I did not apreciated at all...

The personnel who checked me in - sorry I forgot the name, was extremely efficient and fast. The food during dinner and service at El Beida restaurant was great. I would like to specially appreciate the personnel in the Oasis Piano bar, who were very friendly and understanding to my needs, when mixing the drink. The morning breakfast buffet can be improved - with a little more of variety in the items presented. The only problem I find is when writing or replying to the email addresses from which we get confirmation of booking regarding some queries or additional services required or change of dates - the emails keep bounce back saying it is undeliverable.

As soon as we arrived, Kader and Chérif from the front desk welcomed us with open arms. They both were very professional and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our stay is satisfactory. I’ll have to say that the rooms do need some remodeling as they’ve aged quite a bit compared to when I last stayed there (~10 years ago). I would recommend this hotel especially if you’re planning on catching a flight early in the AM. Thanks to Kader and the wait staff at both the bar and the restaurant! I cancelled my reservation at a nearby hotel for this Thursday and I’m returning to Mercure! - See you on 8/16.
