Staying at the Ibis is very convenient for us when visiting family in Preston. We have stayed for the last two years, and it meets our needs adequately, since we just need a clean and comfortable place to sleep.

When I first entered my room (315) I was struck immediately by two things. How noisy it was and how cold it was. I had stayed the previous night in a Travelodge and the temperature dipped down to -6 overnight but I had to turn the heating down as the room was so warm. That was never to be the case with this overnight stay. All windows in the room were left open and the heating was turned off. When altered the heating clearly did not represent the numbers on the slide scale as at full whack the thermostat came in at a very low temperature. On closing the windows I was surprised at how little of the noise from the adjacent motorway they cut out. On returning to the car park it was clear that the surrounding road system meant that the noise was coming from all sides of the hotel. The bed was uncomfortable and consisted of an over mattress on top of a very poor bed. The pillows were marked and stained with hair found on them. The explanation of the lack of bleach only goes so far when I witnessed the following morning the fresh linen being loaded in to the hotel from the muddy grass outside. (The trolley was purposely tipped over and the linin spilled out on to the grass.) The £8.95 breakfast was appalling. The full English consisted of just sausage, bacon, beans and the most disgusting coloured scramble egg. That was it. No wonder the breakfast room was empty.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I am sorry you found the room to be cold, I was on duty this evening and had I known, I would of been more than happy to relocate the room or/and supply extra heating. Whilst some guests hear no noise, others do, we supply the ear plugs complimentary, perhaps you would of found the car park side better. The bed linen is completely unbleached so will show natural fibres, there should not of been any hair present however, the bed linen is supplied by company, so I am sure our general manager will review the cctv of the footage, thank you for bringing it to my attention. I am disappointed that you found the breakfast not to your liking, usually we are complimented in this area, so its very disappointing. I asked for a quiet room and I was put in a room next to a room with a dog, that was continuously barking. When I complained, I was told it was my fault !!!!

« Comfortable, value for money accommodation »

On previous visits to this hotel I have stayed on a room only basis. This time I took advantage of the excellent inclusive breakfast deal. I wasn't disappointed with the great selection on offer. The room was clean and the bed super comfortable (I want one of those mattresses at home!) All the staff were very friendly and actively engaged with the customers. Thank you for your hospitality. I'll be back

« An enjoyable stay and pleasant staff »

Clean, comfortable and adequate room. I wanted a small continental breakfast but there was only a more expensive full breakfast. No criticism of the food as good selection. We wanted a snack/light meal in the evening in a reasonably quiet atmosphere and were surprised and pleased you offered this. The food was good and the 2 staff on duty Saturday 6th were very pleasant and helpful.

« Brief stay but basic facilities in hotel. »

Our stay was satisfactory for the purpose as we were only attending a funeral. The hotel is comfortable but basic. A knob on the sink was missing and the sink plug did not operate properly. The window curtains were not hanging properly hence giving the impression of neglect. The breakfast was OK but I expected the quality of the cooking to be better for the price.

Great time. Only upset was guests in the room opposite and next door had dogs barking and were slamming the door late at night when they went out to walk their dogs numerous times in the evening.

Hotel needs updating including soundproofing, clean carpets. Dogs howling in another room kept other family members awake. Staff are nice and helpful. Good location for us. Breakfast was dried out and poor, limited choices. Not anything like other Ibis I've stayed at. I expected similar standards as with Premier Inn.

Whilst I am pleased that you found the team "nice and helpful", I am disappointed that you did not have a more pleasent stay with us. Although the rooms have soundproofing unfortunately, it will not block out excessive noise completely. However, the team are always on hand to ask other guests to stop any noise disturbance and we can always provide alternative rooms if requested. I am extremely disappointed that you didn't enjoy the breakfast as this is usually an area we are highly praised. As a 2 star budget hotel, we offer cheaper rates than the 3 star Premiere Inns, which is why there is a slight difference in the two brands. Kind Regards, Glen

I was really impressed by the warm and friendly welcome that I received at Ibis Preston North. I was visiting my brother and family over Christmas, and stayed at the Ibis Preston overnight. A Christmas card, a comfortable chair in my room, and a free drink as a Gold card member. I enjoyed my drink in the bar, and had a very pleasant breakfast the next morning. So good to have such a pleasant stay over Christmas!

« New Years stop over »

We use this Ibis regularly as we have family in the area. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the rooms have all the necessary but are starting to feel ready for an update. Our room was clean, as always, but the bedding and towels both looked like they were past their best. Having said that, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for! Price is great and you get friendly service. We will certainly be using it in the future

Clean room, helpful staff. Only complaint was the pillow was awful, hard as a rock and gave me two uncomfortable nights. Even the third extra pillow was the same, would have helped if this was a softer one for people like me who like a very low soft pillow.
