The staff were helpful and friendly but the run down room - bedside light broken - basin in the bathroom that was mended in a very botched up way- were beyond the help they good give. The breakfast was comprehensive, nicely presented, tasty and the request to provide oats to make my own muesli with the other good ingredients already provided was acted on immediately. Signs warning of wet floors were left long after the floors were dry and became a nuisance especially for disabled people needing clear pathways and there was no thought for people with hearing problems. The background music/noise was cast everywhere in the main communal area and a quiet section would be an improvement to make conversation possible. The pads on the beds didn't fit the width of the beds and the straps caused them to ruckle.

The beds in the hotel have all recently been replaced and had new foam toppers on, this "Sweetbed" is the Ibis Brand standard, i am surprised that you didn't find it comfortable as usually people rave about how comfy it is, i do however appreciate that beds and bedding is down to personal preference. The wet floor signs are left out in bad weather as the floor can be slippy with guests walking in and out, i do however appreciate that occasionally in good weather the housekeepers are not as quick to remove them as they should be. In regards to guests who are hard of hearing, the team are most helpful and will happily offer pen and paper for note exchanges, we also have vibrating pillows for fire safety and a team handover board, so we know exactly who in the hotel may or may not need assistance. Unfortunately there is no option on the music system to turn any area off, we can on request, lower the volume however. I hope to welcome you again. Kindest Regards, Glen Anderson Hotel Team Leader

We arrived late afternoon to attend Wedding Reception in Preston. Met at reception, booked in & guided to our rooms. Rooms clean & tidy. Basic but just what we needed. Hotel staff booked us a taxi to go to the Wedding reception. Up early after a great nights sleep, had breakfast which was a good selection... Only complaint was slight smell in bathroom - pipes we thought!

stayed for a second year for the Blackpool airshow.1st room on second floor but due to the party next door was moved to ground floor at 11pm at night. There should be a particular area/floor for families .

I am sorry that you were disturbed in your initial room, we do tolerate party's at the hotel and I have barred those guests from returning. I completely agree that there should be a floor just for families, however unfortunately when the hotel was designed, all the headboards and side tables are different sizes and therefore, when we tried to move all the rooms around nothing fit were it was supposed to. Hopefully if we ever undergo any refurbishment in the future, this may be something that is looked at. I arrived at 21.30 ish. Paid dropped off my bag, closed windows and curtains. Went out got back in at just after midnight. The room smelt of smoke, (i do not smoke). I reported next morning to the duty Manager. He said I could have moved. With respect at the time of coming in you just want to sleep not pack your bags. On reflection i suspect the smoke had got in the room as it was above the reception entrance doors and people go out their top smoke. On this basis do not leave the windows open. Anyway not pleasant and I woke up with a sore throat

I am sorry that on returning from dropping your bag off later that night, you felt your room smelt off smoke. Usually if any rooms smell of smoke they are taken out of order by the housekeeping company who service our rooms, although this shouldn't happen in the first instance as we are a non smoking hotel. The smell of smoke can also unfortunately travel through open windows and vents in the room. I appreciate that moving your bags at that time of night inst ideal but the team would help find a nearby room and even help move the bags. We booked 2 rooms ,the first room stank of cigarette smoke so much that we asked to move to another room, the staff were very helpful with this.The second room had no tea or coffee in the room and there was an opened milk container half full in the room, again staff replaced as required.

On arrival our room card was already waiting for us, as we had used the online checking in. The room was clean and fresh, maybe a little warm, which air conditioning sorted would have been good.... We did make use of the fan that was already in the room. Once again a very fine tasty breakfast, very nice coffee too.

Choosing the hotel was easy as it in a great position for visiting our family. Access to the motorway is simple for traveling in all directions. However certain aspects let down our stay. Housekeeping was not at its best and the TV reception was poor for our ten day period.

Staff were all lovely. Room was nice, only comment is that the supply of coffee was minimal - though one could ask for more at reception. Overall, a very pleasant stay. 2 adults, attending a weekend event nearby.

Our room was pleasant and comfortable and the breakfast was good with a varied choice. However, everything in the room was cut down to the minimum. There was only one teabag each, one medium sized towel each, and the only thing done in the room was making the bed. It seemed that the housekeeping staff dashed on and out as quickly as possible, with no time to do a proper job.

The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the room was very dingy and tatty, and I didn't want to stand on the carpet with bare feet. There was only one bath towel, but in the end it didn't matter as we couldn't regulate the shower down from extremely hot so we came home early without breakfast. The staircases could do with a good clean, the steps were dirty and the handrails were thick with black grime.

Stale smelling room

Forgot to request a room facing the car park so this room was extremely noisy as facing motorway & low quality ear plugs made little difference. Room was foul smelling & stale when I entered & only possible to open one window. Shower grouting with yellowy/pink gunge. Comfortable bed, pillows too thick. Guest notices to be quiet/considerate need to be more visual/obvious. They just look like another advert. Hotel corridors look tired & dismal & in desperate need of refurbishment. They looked like this 2 years ago!

With the hotel being close to the motorway there is a little noise but all our rooms are fitted with triple glazing windows. As you mention that some of our accommodations are facing the front of the hotel and tend to be quieter. However, as their amount is limited, we would recommend guests to ask for them prior to arrival by contacting the hotel directly. Fans can also be requested prior to arrival or on the check in. I will be sure to pass your feedback onto the housekeeping company we use and I am sure the head housekeeper will investigate why the cleanliness wasn't up to our usual high standards. I understand that beds and bedding are down to personal preference.
