My room was still occupied at 5pm and wasn’t made back up properly due to no house keeping on site at that time. Breakfast wasn’t stocked fully at 07-30 and had to wait 15mins for it to be replenished.

Room was clean and staff were friendly. Bathroom needed some maintenance. Shower tray filled like a bath as drainage was extremely slow and shower temperature fluctuated to scolding hot. A number of floor tiles in room 114 were broken in the bathroom. The bedroom was great. Breakfast was ok although a little more choice would have been nice.

No reception desk on arrival which left us standing around like a spare part trying to find where to check-in until a member of staff wandered out from the bar with what looked like a mobile phone to check us in; very unprofessional. Room was OK and the bed was comfortable (which is why I've scored a 2 instead of a 1). No shower curtain which meant water sprayed out onto the floor making it slippery and dangerous. The worse part though was that there are no silencers on any of the doors (corridor or rooms) meaning that people coming in late at night caused banging doors and because the rooms weren't sound proofed their voices carried. No signs up anywhere telling people to be respectful of other guests trying to sleep. Both nights we had to go out into the corridor telling people to be quiet. Our room had an interconnecting door which had a gap at the bottom meaning that in addition to all the noise, light from next door also came through. We both had the worst 2 nights sleep for a very long time. There was also no way of controlling the temperature in the room.

We found the welcome at the hotel second to none making us all feel welcome our canine family member The room was clean and tidy as was the soft furnishings, however the room did smell of previous occupants. As dog owners we understand the difficulty when catering for people with animals but felt an air freshener in the room may have helped get rid of the unpleasant odour.

« Dissappointing »

On arrival even though I’d done online check in they didn’t have my half board booking and had to check it online Same thing in morning, I was challenged and questioned and made to feel awkward with no apology. Evening staff in restaurant were lovely though especially waiter/barman who was very polite and helpful. Menu poor and fish and chips served on a napkin in a basket very hard to eat! Overall hotel not as expected.

Hotel fine, however there was an electrical motor stopping & starting throughout the night. I assume it was an hvac motor. It ran for 4 mins or so & then stopped. On restart it banged loudly.

« first time with IBIS was a great experiance; room clean and tidy and we felt well looked after. »

Wasn't sure what to expect but found everything to our satisfaction, we have been introduced to a chain of hotels which we will definitely be using from now on. The guy at reception immediately made us feel at home...nothing was too much trouble for him, he got onto an internet problem straight away and it was resolved by the next morning. Can't comment on food other services etc as we just had a basic room but I'm fairly confident that they would provide decent services all round.

« Not up to our previous experience of this hotel. »

We have stayed at this hotel in the passed, 2 and 4 years ago on our visited from Australia. Previously we have been overall satisfied,but this time the experience was not as we expected. The hotel is now very tired, seems to have had no renovation since our first visit and I would now say that it doesn't even meet 2 star rating. Inconsistent maid service was a regular thing with having to go to reception/bar to ask for items missing from the room due to not being replaced during room cleaning. We therefore decided to end our stay early.
