I tried out 3 different rooms and all sticks same and my gut feelings told me there have been guests coming in with pets etc . You could tell from the smells of the rooms. It was horrible. I just wish it was cleaner to have enjoyed my stay

The staff were very welcoming, polite and friendly. I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was comfortable. The cleaning staff were very efficient and friendly nothing was too much trouble. The only drawback was trying to cross the busy roads, I would have expected a crossing of some sort.

Very comfortable, I asked for exta towels and they we're immediately put in our room, but I suggest a minimum of 4 towes for a couple. I think it whould help if there was a menue for meals available during the evening. There couĺd also be menues from local restaurants or takeaways that deliver.

The room well laid out, clean & well prepared but there is always too little tea/coffee. In this day & age all hotels should also offer skimmed milk & sweeteners. The room was very noisy with road noise, the double glazing appeared completely ineffective. The lift was ‘jerky’ & very slow, at one stage I thought it had broken down & started worrying. There was limited engagement from the staff, offering only 2 more teas & coffees when asked for more. Seemed to be talking among themselves & no query about our stay when we left. We did not have breakfast or use the communal rooms.

Problems with room 6.Some issues where sorted some not,ie no shower gel holder in shower and nothing to stop water staying in sink ,we commented on this and the handy man Dave said there is no plugs in the disabled rooms ,how do you have a wash?.Also leak under sink had to put towel on floor to stop slipping.Jay and Lyndsey and staff went overboard to sort issues out and help us.This room is not suitable for disabled as it is.

« Convenient, low cost, room clean but basic BUT NOISY »

It was overnight stay. We have stayed before, so have come back. We arrived late and left early, so needing somewhere with free parking, that is clean and tidy and not needing any special facilities, at obviously the lowest cost. This is why we returned on this occasion. We had two problems 1. the room was cold and there was no instruction to how to turn on the heater. Finally via my phone's torch i locked the one/off switch on the side that was almost inaccessible because it was almost hidden down the side of the desk. It took ages to warm up the room. 2. The biggest issue was noise. My wife slept little due to the constant road noise. We were in room 209, so on the front side of the hotel. On all previous occasions we have been on the rear. A lesson learned for the next visit.

« Nice hotel in Chesterfield »

Ibis is always a good choice for a budget stay. The one in Chesterfield is a nice hotel in a good location for the centre. The rooms are big compared to other Ibises we have stayed and very comfortable, but the bathroom was a bit dated. Initially it was difficult to locate as my satnav, using the hotel's post code, took me to a street away from the hotel. Once we spotted the hotel there was ample free parking and the usual cheery and efficient welcome at reception was made even easier with online check in and check out. Although we did not have breakfast this time, there was a really nice dining and bar area.

Normally stay here 3 or 4 times a year. The rooms are ok but we ALWAYS have problems with one or more base lamps, same again this year. Always report it. Time new lamps and bulbs installed. This time mattress in room 3 felt very hard. Breakfast was good but had to ask for plates to be heated.
