we can hear noises from outside , All night we keep and wake up because of the noise -security card shouts people knock the doors , I think key card reader design is difficult to use its not read in one go , every one trying so many times and make noises all nightIn the room we can hear road noises, machinery noises . feel very uncomfortable sleep.

I bo9ked the ibis in Sept for 2 days as I believe the earlier you book better value. However at a later date I added on a Fri. When I checked the rate for the wed and thur ppreviously bo9ked it had gone down £19. I didn't really think that was very fair

Everything went to plan.Check in was really smooth as i had already checked in on line.The room was comfortable & everything worked as expected.I,ve stayed regularly at the Ibis in Chesterfield over the years because it is so convenient to Chesterfield town centre & the station.The car park is free & adequate in size.The single lift (which is really slow) is one of the only negative,s to the hotel.

The Bed was comfy and the room was clean, but the hole room was in desperate need of attention. A light didn't work, the Tv reception was poor sometimes. lots of broken and poorly repaired items in the room. I appreciate it is a budget but it needs attention.

Thought on booking I was talking to hotel not call centre. Check in good. Got me fresh milk. And quiet room request done. Room didn't look hoovered. Hard to reach window to open. I don't have what's app to contact reception.

« Unpleasant and noisy room »

I arrived on Sunday night following a 4.5 hour journey, thinking (after viewing the hotels details) that I could get supper in the hotel. This was not the case. The staff that greeted me were friendly but felt more like hosts than proper reception staff. When I arrived in my room there was a faint smell of old cigarette smoke. I went out to get some supper, when I came back found 2 pubic hairs in the shower cubicle in my room. By this time it was late and couldn’t face the thought of moving. I had requested a quiet room. I was directly looking into a main road and was kept awake until gone midnight by tv noise from at least 2 bedrooms. I was also woken in the night by doors slamming and from 5.30 the next morning. I fully appreciate that your staff can’t control the noise levels of other guests but I was really disappointed. I was staying for a work visit the experience above meant that I was shattered on the Monday and not at all at my best. No one was at our near reception for me to speak with when I checked out, so I couldn’t feed any of this back. It felt like a perfunctory service. On the basis of this I would not choose or recommend a stay at an Ibis hotel.

« Two Day stay At the IBIS Chesterfield »

The hotel is ideally located being just two minutes from the town centre and all the bars , restaurants ,shops , market and numerous pubs. Also ideal spot being close to all major routes allowing you to tour the Derbyshire area , Matlock etc. Ample parking on site , friendly efficient staff, clean spacious room with all you need for your stay. This was our second stay at the hotel.

« Overall an enjoyable weekend, let down slightly »

In general the stay was enjoyable, however the shower in the room is perilously slippy and no none slip shower mat was ever provided even on request. Arriving in our double room we found two single beds that had been loosely pushed in the direction of the other but I had to attach the two together myself. The hotel was also let down by the staff at the check in desk who were very blunt and a little bit rude. All in all it was an alright stay, however the price we paid for what we received was rather high and not worth the service we received.

« Too noisy »

I have to admit my stay wasn't enjoyable. My room was facing a busy main road and even with both windows closed and the thick curtains it felt like I was trying to sleep on a motorway. Other guests on the landing were inconsiderate and noisy making the whole experience a nightmare. After a rubbish nights sleep I was looking forward to a shower that was merely a trickle of water, I still felt unclean after. So off down for breakfast where I was faced with lukewarm orange juice, cold bacon and rock hard sausages. I couldn't wait to leave

« Hotel is only really accessible by car »

The position of the hotel on the edge of the town centre suggests that it would be easy to walk in to the town. Unfortunately this is not the case as the hotel is separated from the town centre by a very busy road/roundabout system with no pedestrian crossing facilities. The advertising for the hotel suggests that there is a restaurant on site, this is not the case
