Terrible. Had to move rooms as the first one stank. The rooms are not clean with stains on the mattresses and carpets. The hallway in the second floor carpet was covered in hazard tape to prevent people tripping over. The rooms need updating. The staff were very nice though.

This is not my first stay at Ibis Chesterfield North and it never fails to be comfortable warm and cosy. The staff and friendly and accommodating. I recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. It is easy to access the M1 from here so makes it a perfect stop for those travelling further and wish to break their journey. The Treble Bob and Mc Donald’s on site mean you don’t have to travel far for a meal. Breakfast at the hotel is good although I did have breakfast on this occasion.

Staff on Reception & bar area extremely helpful - nothing is too much trouble - but this trip sadly let down Housekeeping - mark on sheet only discovered as going to bed - too late to ask for change - room generally not good cleanliness - items left from previous occupants - NO SHOWER GEL LEFT IN SHOWER & very little left by sink - Reception did provide emergency supplies BUT found I had a skin reaction to these - Shower Gel still not replace second day so can only assume lack of stock available.went without shower this day- additional towels not available in room on this day either. If this had been my first visit may not have booked again - but knew standards could be better so give benefit of doubt

From the moment I walked in, I felt very welcome. Staff greeted me with a smile and how could they help me. The cleaners who did my room everyday, were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way. Restaurant was great, bar service was also great. Lovely room with en suite. Very comfy bed I will definitelt be staying with them again in the future. Excellent.

Check in good and general cleanliness good .Bed comfort good. Bathroom clean. Bar pleasant. Only real problem was that carpet had several stains near desk Room 225 not good!

Very good value for money. Clean, decent sized rooms. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Ideally situated for M1 and Derbyshire, with South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire areas easily accessible. Have stayed there on several occasions and would recommend it as a good 'budget' hotel.

We have been staying at Barlborough Ibis for many years as its always been good and handy. It is sad to say we will be looking elsewhere in future as our stay was not very good. On arrival we were allocated room number 323 (we usually stay on 2nd floor at the front) on entry we immediately turned round and walked back to reception, as we thought the room was home to a Helicopter on the roof. The manager with respect tried his best and gave us another room key number 222. he then accompanied us to this room .Another problem ! there was someone already in this room.Again with embarrassment, the manager trickled off to find another room, which after a while he came back with another key.He did kindly give a bottle of wine and a free breakfast for our trouble.Room 106 was the final room which seemed to be ok , until the early noise outside as we realised we were over the Trade entrance, wagons ect. Moving on however, it is a shame as we have seen a hotel we loved, fall into being tatty, and badly in need of updating. Good Points. Breakfast very nice, bed comfy as usual. Let down went to have a shower in morning, no soap in dispenser in shower. Manager did try his best and we appreciated his token of compensation. Message to Ibis. You are letting yourself down on this Hotel, time to get it sorted.,Ibis is better than this.
