An overnight stay visiting family in both Sheffield and Chesterfield, an ideal location, great value. Rooms clean and comfortable. Bar and food menu reasonably priced and good choice. Overall very pleased.

Comfortable and clean room. Sofa bed for our son but still enough space in the room. Polite, friendly staff. One of the best (and cheapest) hotels we've stayed in.

I regard this Ibis as budget accommodation, however for the price we paid it was very good value. There was a bit of confusion over whether breakfast was included in the rate, but this was immediately rectified. The young man serving at breakfast (sorry didn't get his name) was very welcoming and extremely professional. The hotel is very convenient for visiting our family in the area, so we will undoubtedly stay again.

The door to the staircase was directly connected to our room. The closing mechanism was very poor which made the door bag very loudly every time it was used For your staff to say this was a quiet room was rather annoying The noise was made worse by having young people running around the corridors for most of the night

We have used the Ibis hotel at Barlborough for stays of between seven and ten days at Christmas for the past four years. It continues to offer all that we would want from an hotel in the AccorHotels group. The accommodation is clean, warm and comfortable. What really stands out are the friendly, attentive staff members, whether it be those on reception or those working in other parts of the hotel. Their commitment ensures are stay is always enjoyable. It would be nice to know that our remarks actually reach the ears of these staff members, I am not sure that it does, given that feedback usually involves “improving services” and not sometimes saying to staff, “job well done”. I would be interested to know if anyone in senior management actually does this.

It was New years eve, and around 4.30am i was woken by some shouting from the room below. It lasted for half an hour or so. Then i heard more shouting from out front of the hotel. I looked out of the window and saw 2 police officers putting a man in the back of the police car. I presume it was the man from the room below. I then tried to get back to sleep for a good hour or so, and as i was up at 8 for work the next day didnt get the good nights sleep i had hoped i would. On checking out the next morning, the lady on the desk said the man had fallen out with his girlfriend and had also been causing trouble in the reception area knocking objects over. So overall, my first stay at this hotel wasnt too enjoyable and may have put me off for the future.

« We decided not to stay in the end. The stench in the room was awful. »

Friendly enough staff but the room smelt like someone had died in it. Despite paying £50 We could not stomach staying there so drove home!

As always the staff were all friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was as always a great choice from continental to full English. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. I would highly recommend stating at the Ibis Barlborough.

Staff are always chatty, friendly and very helpful, the rooms and beds very comfortable. We stayed in room 003 and the only down side was the gale blowing through the gap around the window and the heater was only held on the wall by one bracket, not a problem for us as we both like a bit of fresh air.

We always stay here when we visit family in area.Accor members.We found the hard pillows a problem and disturbed our sleep.We did ask for soft but no luck.Breakfast disappointing dont like streaky fatty bacon, no mushrooms left.Second day no mushrooms and had to wait for bacon.Must compliment Carol waitress excellent.
