room was nice, no choice given between continental breakfast and main breakfast so paid E21 for a small bowl of fruit each morning which was very expensive

What a wonderful experience this was. The room was stunning, my fiance and I were extremely pleased with our stay. Executive rooms are definitely worth it for the extra room. I would highly recommend !

I always enjoy staying at the Mechelen Novotel. This time I particularly enjoyed the tasteful Halloween decorations - even trying to recreate them at home. The only disappointment was the supposedly soft-boiled egg - which was pretty much raw.

Good room. Good facilities, good location, good breakfast, friendly staff. Would have given 10 but had to wait 10 minutes for a member of staff to appear to check out.

I stayed on this hotel because Brussels was in high occupancy period. Rooms are very nice. Beautiful and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and supportive. Location is very good. Quiet place. It’s so good that it’s easy to loose time!!!

It was short, arriving early evening and departing the following morning early. The receptionist was very helpful at check in and also booked a taxi for me for early the following morning. He also suggested that I use the quick check out if leaving early. He said that Breakfast was not included in my rate and as I was leaving at 6:45 in the morning I decided not to take breakfast and got it at the railway station instead. However I was billed for breakfast even though I didn't go anywhere near the breakfast! So now have had to ask my assistant to complain and get a credit.

Always nice to come back to Novotel. Rooms are very nice and absolutely clean. Breakfast is great. However, the food in the Gourmet Bar is not very good. Menu looks great. Food looks great. But leaves a lot to be desired in terms of taste.... Which is a shame because after a long day of meetings all I want is a good, quick meal. Drinks are very good though!

I was grateful to be able to get one family room very affordably. There was an additional sofa bed in the room so there wasn't much space remaining, but it worked just fine. The breakfast was great, the boys loved the pancake machine! ;)

Initially, I was assigned to a room directly underneath the gym. I was awakened the following morning around 5 a.m. by someone using the treadmill. I asked to move to a different room, which was accommodated. Pillows were not comfortable.

check-in was ok, got my voucher for free drink. Then, wanted to go to the gym, using my room key as usual but didn't worked, went down to know what was wrong, team told me that I need another key for the gym, got one, back to the gym, that key also didn't worked. went again to front desk, to finally have someone to open the door. to prevent losing time again, I've not been to the gym the next Morning (early) as planned… when entering the gym, really hot and no fresh air. Last thing I really didn't liked is at breakfast, arriving around 6.45, you meet Novotel employees taking care of the buffet, none of them said good Morning, or any word, really not a friendly welcome. you'll have more attention from employees eating on the highway. not a good experience this time.

The staff were attentive and very helpful. Your receptionist helped my colleague and I find an optometrist who could replace our glasses within 24 hours which was excellent (our glasses had previously been stolen from the US, prior to our arriving in Mechelen). They were only too happy to help with anything we needed. The room service and breakfasts were excellent. The gym was well equipped and good. The hotel is in an excellent location and my room was comfortable, apart from the temperature. It was very warm and I wasn't able to cool it down sufficiently, even with the air conditioning at its lowest possible temperature. That is my only complaint.

Have stayed in a few different hotels in Mechelen over several years. This was by far the best . Very comfortable bed and superbly located for the City Centre . Because of other eating commitments, we didn't have breakfast so I cannot comment on that in terms of value for money. Amusing Halloween decorations gave the entrance a nice topical feel. Would absolutely stay here again when next in Mechelen .

The hotel room was cleaned well and the interior looked new and well maintained. The location was great in the city centre and withing walking distance of the main sights. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of options and long serving hours in the weekend (until 11:00). The room looked nice, there was however some strange ventilation system in the toilet, which ended in the toilet, and the mattress had a very soft upper mattress as if you were lying on a blanket. Overall a very good hotel where I would definitely stay again.

Nice rooms. Nothing fancy but you have what you need, except for perhaps a softer and thinner pillow. Not everyone likes to have the neck bent at 90 degrees when they sleep. Bring your own pillow if you like it soft, It's easy enough. I just have one real complaint and that is that awful smell of cheap perfume that is sprayed in the corridors. As an asthmatic It's a nightmare. For others it just reeks. It just raises the question - What smells are they trying to hide?
