Sink was leaking and drop by drop sound was a bit annoying. Reception was very good and supportive.

I stayed in the Novotel Mechlen Centrum during the recent heat wave when the temperatures exceded 40C. While in the hotel you would have not known it was so hot outside as the air-conditioning was throughout the hotel. I was surprised on check-in that the reception staff was wearing jeans - I would have expected a more formal uniform for a 4 star hotel. However I must say that the staff member was a great help and sorted my room with no issues.

Thank you for a great experience at your Novotel Mechelen Centrum Hotel. The Customer Service and Friendliness of the staff was exceptional. The Hotel room was very spacious, clean and modern with a very comfortable bed for a good nights rest. Also the Hotel Breakfast had a big selection of delicious options available. I also used the Gym and Fitness center whilst I stayed at the hotel and was satisfied with the fitness options that was available.

The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of local restaurants and shopping. The parking is conveniently located underground immediately next to the hotel. The bartender was really nice and the breakfast was really good each day.

Big room with bathtub, its quite close to river and a big church. So that I gave 9 socre, 1 socre is for the invoice.

The stay was OK however in the past 3.5 years I've been staying already more than 100 nights in this hotel. during checkin they always have to "re-integrate" the credit card number manually while it should already be in their system for many times. Besides, my L'accor GOLD status I've never received an upgrade while in other hotels around the world I mostly receive it. A single incident could be but this is a routine where the employees don't know how to handle GOLD or even PLATINUM members. On top of that - always have to ask for the welcome drink voucher and they "forgot" was their excuse every single time. Furthermore, breakfast area is under staffed as past times I've experienced 10 dirty tables without having a single free one + food was almost empty. 1 person cannot do this all as I see that the level is going backwards as off the last year. Hope for some improvements here.

An upgrade is only available upon availability of these rooms. Generally Good. Good Points: Breakfast buffet, Gym (although a bit over air conditioned), beds were comfy. Not So Good: Bathroom layout is convoluted, not good with the toilet and sink so far separated, dogs.

The hotel was clean, weird bathroom setup wit separate toilet. Door to bathroom did not shut. Shower was of low power. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in the centre, a short walk from the main square and cafes along the canal. Great location.
