« Novotel Mechelen was to my satisfaction. »

Checkin was uncomplicated, the room is good, the service is friendly, the bar welcoming, the waiting area is comfortable and allows for good get together, particularly when travelling in business.

I am a regular guest at the Novotel Mechelen, and as far as I am concerned, one of the better hotels in its price class in the area. I was assigned the room typically reserved for people with special needs (probably because I previously complained about the wash basins in the standard rooms). From a bathroom experience it was better but rather weird to have a chair occupying half the shower. Need to compliment the bar man for his friendly service.

I was greeted by staff as soon as I entered the building. They helped me immediately and when I got to the room everything was neat and tidy.

Arrived very early as our flight got in at 7:30 am. We were at the Novotel Mechelen Centrum at 8:30 on New Years Day. The person at the front desk was accommodating but unfortunately there were no rooms available at that time. We were given a map of the area around us. It was suggested to do some sight seeing to pass the time as our room wouldn't likely be ready until after 12 (noon). we walk around for a couple of hours but returned as we were fatigued from our overnight flight and the time change. We managed to get a room at 12:30. The room was small yet comfortable however the temperature control seem to be not controllable from the thermostat in the room and was quite warm. Fortunately there was a window that could be opened however this did allow noise from the street below when sleeping. We ate at the restaurant on two of three nights of our stay and this was a very pleasant dining experience. It was New Years Day and no restaurants outside of the hotel were open in Mechelen. The staff were very helpful with menu choices and the food and beverages was excellent. We able to enjoy an appetizing and filling Breakfast Buffet each morning with lots of food choices from traditional eggs and bacon, cereals and fruits, yogurts, with a bountiful supply of baked goods as well. Overall our stay was very enjoyable!

Very nice hotel in a good position in center of City.The room was a good size,so was bath room.with bath & shower.You could open the window to let in fresh air.The only big problem was our room 432 was under the fitness room so you could hear people banging working out,we were given the choice to move the next day,if it was not for this you would have got a 10. I was not happy with the price given as a club member,cheaper from Hotel.com.this is 3rd hotel in your group we sayed at in the last 4 weeks.

The rooms were good and all was working well. Daily cleaning of the rooms was done well. The breakfast was good and we always enjoyed it. The only feedback I would like to give is that a Platinum member doesn't get much recognition at the hotel, but that seems the same in the whole of Europe. Need to ask for the welcome drink and no information is given about the benefits we get. Honestly, I don't like to ask for things.

Overall the hotel is good, breakfast is poor, and the staff is null. The hotel is understaffed and it is hard to find someone to ask for help. During breakfast there is no-one to check if your breakfast is included or not. After asking in the reception, I was told the breakfast was included for my stay, but at check-out I had to pay for a single day in which it was not included (but I did not know and was told differently). Finally, it has been almost two weeks and I still did not get a correct invoice from the hotel :/ I am very disappointed.

the location and room were good, as is the hotel in general. But: When we arrived, the person at reception did not know where the hotel was on the map he gave us - he marked it in a completely different part of the city and when asked the name of the road - as we knew the hotel address and did not recognise where he had marked the hotel he shrugged and said no more. When asked where the sites were, he said 'The old town' - which is so general as to be very unhelpful. That evening, my partner became ill. After she had a day in bed - and I tole reception she was ill - in the morning we asked the hotel to a doctor. At no point after that, in what was booked as a 4 night stay, did anyone in the hotel ask if there was anything they could do,. We did not want th normal room cleaning as she was in bed, but there was no offer of clean towels or any other replenishment of the room. We even had to keep asking for more tea bags etc as well as buying water. We were due to stay 4 nights but left a day early as my partner was still ill and been in bed, ill, all the time. When leaving I said this was because my partner was ill and the person booking us out did not even say "that is unfortunate". Nothing. We might as well as have been in a privately rented apartment. I am so shocked at the lack of thoughtfulness, care - and training -though that should not be needed for such basics of humanity and professionalism. I have stayed in many Accor hotels, including a superb (Pulman) in Shanghai in July. Our experience in this hotel does huge discredit to the brand

We had a pleasant stay at the Novotel in Mechelen, good breakfast, decent Novotel style rooms. All was in working condition, so no complaints about the rooms. One remark, as a platinum member, it will be good to inform the guest about the benefits/perks they get when staying at Novotel in Mechelen. In other hotels, more attention is given.

Dear Madam/Sir, I stayed at Novotel hotel in Mechelen from 3rd until 5th December 2018. The lady from front desk asked me for the authorization my credit card úpon my arrival. She blocked 380,-€ on my account. Tho days later I paid 290,-€ for two nights. I have been checking my account this week and I have found out that this amount is still blocked. My bank also confirmed the same. May you have look at it Please? As far as I know it is not allowed to block my money for such a long time. Especially when the amount for the accomodation has been already charged. Best regards Marek H.

« Well located and good place to stay »

Well situated hotel in the heart of Mechelen. The Superior rooms are nice, well kept and clean offering everything you would expect. Breakfast is good with a wide choice of options. Area for improvement is service. Checking in took a while because there was just one person available to check in guests and later in the evening it took time to order a drink at the bar because again there was only one person managing the bar and room service.

Enjoyed the room & especially the bed. easy to find around in; also the safety stairs easy to find & use (tested). The breakfast was ok; missed normal black coffey (was asked to take espresso; did so + poured milk on top).

« Nice stay »

I enjoyed my stay at the Novotel Mechelen Centrum. Check in and check out was pretty simple. I never stayed there before, so it would have been nice if there were instructions from the registration process to let me know to insert my room card key to activate the power lights to the room upon entry. And there must have been some confusion in regards to # of ppl staying for my room. The pull out sofa was laid out as well as an additional roll out bed. It wasn't until my day 3 out of 5 nights it was finally removed.

« Definitely recommend »

Went as a couple for a long weekend. We were really positively surprised with the cleanliness of the room and the attention to the small details. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nice and most of all, location is perfect. There is a payed parking just under the hotel (a bit expensive), but still worth it in a cold weather and with limited possibilities of parking on the streets. All in all nice experience

« A pleasant, uneventful stay »

Room was fine, though the temperature regulation seemed to take a while to activate (I was too hot & tried to turn the temperature right down & it took some time). I used the gym facilities which were basic but adequate - maybe a bit of additional equipment like swiss balls, medicine balls & some resistance bands. Breakfast was ok, though not exceptional, mainly I say this as I am not a fan of hot buffet & would prefer he option to order fresh poached eggs for example.
