« Disappointing due to fractured ankle which happened in the hotel reception due to wet floor ! Entered in hotel accident book »

Saturday evening slipped on wet floor in receiption. THis was witnessed by a number of staff and recorded in accident book. This cut our visit to Manchester short as I could not walk round Manchester on Sunday as planned. We had to go straight to the train station. Saturday, Sleepless night due to the pain. 5 hours in A&E confirmed fractured foot. This totally spoilt our special weekend, up to that point it had been enjoyable!

Excellent - things have really improved at this hotel and I love staying here. Very pleasant staff on reception and in the bar, menu and food have improved greatly. Only disappointment was as a gold member there was no water or complimentary items in my room although the upgrade was appreciated. Also a very nice ambience and feel to the hotel, very nice decor etc.

Very nice hotel with easy access to city centre. Hotel staff were very helpful, room and facilities were very good, breakfast was excellent. Value for money? I paid £235 for one night with breakfast, was a bit surprised when checking out the following morning to see the advertised tariff to be about £150.00, we didn't even go to watch Champions League football !!

Hi Stay here regular for work, it is convenient, Mathieu and his team have done a fantastic job... all our staff love staying here, very welcoming breakfast, restaurant and food are fantastic, the rooms are always clean to the highest standard

« Shower didn’t work.... »

I arrived at 12 after stating I would arrive at 12 on the booking to be told I had to wait an hour until I checked in. The customer service was average at best. I went to have a shower and the drains were blocked, this meant after a day of travel an evening out I had to go back to London sleeping horrofically. I spent £147 on the room and at best it was worth £47

The stay was actually very good but I had reserved using my loyalty points with a balance of £60 to pay. The overall cost of the room without the points was £131.10. I was advised on booking that the £60 would be taken from the card I paid with. On check in, I explained that card was no longer valid as id closed the account and asked if the £60 could be taken from my credit card which was swiped on check in along with any extras. I had selected express check out. Today, I have checked my bank account and the full £131.10 has been taken. I contacted customer care and spent an hour on the phone dealing with an advisor who consistently placed me on hold and repeatedly told me it was a pre authorisation. I had repeatedly told her at no point did I give anyone permission to take a £131.10 pre authorisation from my bank account. The credit card should’ve been used as requested and I still don’t understand why it’s £131.10 when I only owed £60 and the 4000 points have been taken from my loyalty account. I have incurred bank charges as a result of this. I had also travelled an hour to go Christmas shopping which I have been unable to do due to insufficient funds in my back account because of this payment. I am a loyal customer who stays regularly at your hotels but this has well and truly put me off staying again

Very enjoyable - I was there for business, and found the hotel well located, comfortable and maintained to a high standard. Walking distance from Manchester Piccadilly and from central city eating houses, it was an ideal place to stay for a few days.

On arrival we were told there was no record of our booking. After lifting suitcase on to desk and opening it the receptionist said 'Oh here it is'! When we got to our room we found we had been upgraded to a superior room - did receptionist get the vibes that we were not happy?We went for dinner and all started off well but then started to disintegrate. The chips were rock hard but no-one asked if everything was ok.After asking for bill it was brought to table to sign to our room but again no-one came to collect it. We signed, left it on table and pocketed the cash tip we were going to leave.The rooms are lovely and position is excellent but staff need more training. In future would probably not stay here.

Room was clean and new, and had lots of space. It was also great to have still and sparkling water in the fridge and room was fully equipped for pleasant stay. Also breakfast was good and staff very friendly and helpful.

Very pleasant from start to finish. Fabulous breakfast and meals in the Exchange. Only criticism toilet in bedroom very cramped only just enough room to open door. Fortunately we are not “large people” but seemed to knock toilet roll off its holder every time. Could this be moved further back or on the opposite wall.
