As it says in the title: Great hotel in an excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff. Definitely recommended for both business and holiday travel. There was a slight mix-up with my booking when I arrived (I had requested a room with a sleeping couch, in addition to a regular bed), but the reception staff was able to sort it out quickly and very professionally. My compliments!

Too hot!

Room was good but far too hot even in cold weather with the aircon on. We asked for a fan which made it just bearable but in summer it would be intolerable. Bed linen was very rough and poor quality like it had been washed too many times and was overdue for replacing. Towels were also poor quality. I expected more from a 4 star hotel. Staff were great though -very friendly and helpful at check in.

Good breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Rooms a bit too hot at night. A bit of noise outside during the night but to be expected in town centre location on a bank holiday weekend I guess.

Electronic appliances like the fridge for instance were not really working properly and there was a smell of vape in the room (possible left by the previous occupant) but staff were amazingly helpful. The helpfulness of the staff member (e.g., Ioana of housekeeping) at the hotel in Manchester City Centre salvaged the situation and made our stay much more pleasant. So kudos to Novotel for having staff members who deserved to be in the line of customer service. You all have recruited the right people!

The worst Novotel ever

the hotel is a little bit older- but that is not the problem. I sleep around 100 days a year in hotels - and the part of Accor is 50 % of that. The staff was so uninterested in everything. I've never experienced anything like that in the last years. We had in 3 days no cleaning service on one day. Maybe we had a 'no disturb sign' out till 11 or 12. On the first day we just asked for towels and toilet-paper and got them after 3 hours. On the second day we left at around 10.30 am and no sign at the the door - no room service. after we returned around 6pm. After talking to the reception, they told us have a drink we take care about it... the story got... unbelievable - nobody cared at the bar. After 38 minutes an asian guy came to our table after we verbally looked for someone - he told us, what are you expecting with your 'wonder vouchers' (a complimentary drink) - we have people who pay for the service. ?!?!??!? We had vouchers already because of my status before, but didn't use them till that point and not after. Nobody came to us to tell us the room is ready after two days 'no-service' - so we went to the room after an hour - it was serviced - towels - soap - t-paper... but nothing was where it belonged, it was put anywhere in defiance. On the third day nothing happened - after complaining, the same as a day before. There was many staff around, reception bar, restaurant, night shift - nobody cared for three days for the rubbish, cigarettes in front of the entrance on either side. The same outside view happened at the attached Ibis Hotel under the same management... even at the main road in front of the hotel nobody cared for rubbish and cigarettes. It's the first time, I ever write a revue like that - Accor, you should change the management in Manchester (Novotel/Ibis) very quickly.

Very good all round experience. Location was first class with paid parking next door. breakfast was of good quality and warm, and was nice to see a veggie option on the menu. Bar food was of good quality and reasonable price.
