« Excellent service, tired mattress »

The staff at the Sofitel London St James are all courteous, responsive and helpful. Check-in was swift and friendly, and an issue with the first room we were provided with (vibration) was addressed quickly with no fuss. Room well appointed, bathroom with fantastic water pressure, great amenities. Room service dinner was warm, very good quality. Only issue was the mattress which was tired, soft not due to design, but due to age (it was folding on the sides). Would stay again, but would hope to have a newer mattress.

The location of hotel is good. Easy to access art gallery and shopping area. The concierge staffs are helpful either booking tickets, restaurants, hair salon or food delivery. They response quickly and patiently. The Balcon restaurant provide quality service and quality food. The provide paper bag for take bakery for the breakfast. It's really congenial service idea esp. for the family with small kids not like to get up. The only weakness of this hotel is the housekeeping cleaning service. The cleaning service is terrible. They left with cups with stains, never clean the electric water jar, the shower door frame colour almost dark green. There was a fabric sign for changing linens. It disappeared on the 2nd day. So the linens never been changed during our 7 nights stay.

First time staying in Sofitel London and feeling so greatfull. We didn't know that the road was closed on our check our time, 1st January. However, the reception was so helpful to provide us with the late check out. We were unsure that we can get the late up to 4 pm because we thought that 1st January will be full occupancy. Now we are so regret that we didn't check the name of the person that was so helpful to us. We wish to mention her name here to saying thank you personally.

We had a wonderful stay - the room was nice, the hotel and staff were wonderful, climate control worked well. The only thing we’d change would be the minibar fridge - the automated ones are annoying as you can’t easily put your own things in it.

« a good experience »

This was a good experience with some small exceptions. 1)the painting that was hanging above the loo fell off the second day of our stay after the toilet was flushed probably due to to initial false hanging. 2)the waiters and waitresses were not very tidy and could not understand,the one who took the order, english very well.
