I arrived early, 8:30 am. Well before check in time, off a 20 hour journey. I was misled by staff saying they would text me as soon as the room was ready, the impression being it would be soon, then when I asked I was told sorry it would be at noon, then told it would be a little after 1. eventually I got the text at 15:03 - after the normal check in time. All along I think everyone I spoke to knew the truth but wasnt honest enough to speak it. Spoiled my whole visit - wasted a day waiting in the foyer.

we booked a room as we have stayed with yourselves before and been very happy. we then called and asked to get another room for our son who was going to join us. we were informed there were no other rooms available but we could get a fold away bed in a different larger room at an addition cost. we agreed and were shocked when we arrived into the room to find it was tiny and I don't believe for one moment that was a larger room than we had already paid for, the windows were at high level. it just wasn't a nice experience. what was good is that they had made sure there were 3 towels , 3 bottles of water and 3 robes in the room which was good to see thought had gone into this. overall apart from our room everything else was top notch and the staff at the door, reception and bar were excellent

This was not what I would expect from a 5* Hotel. I've stopped at a number of Sofitel's across the world and it's the only one I wouldn't return.

Excellent as ever (we've stayed many times). Our first room - 424 - we didn't feel was up to the usual standards, the bed was a tad uncomfortable, so we moved to 122 which was great - more space etc. Front desk staff were very good about this move. The standout as always is service - your staff are just great, reception and porters and breakfast and bar. (We wondered why only front desk have name tags?) Staff go out of their way to make guests feel at home and special - not just us, we saw this happening with so many other guests around us. To my mind, this reflects very well on management. We'll be back in early July and look forward to it.

From check-in to check-out we could not fault the service. The room was much more to our liking and more practical than previous onez we have used. The restaurant is so much more pleasant and the breakfast menu choice excellent. The cocktails in the bar are very good indeed. Again the refurbishment has improved our experience in that part of the hotel. What sets this Hotel apart from others is the staff. They are kind, attentive to detail and pleased to serve. Particular mention is due to Marie-Chloe on reception, Robert who looked after our bags, Victorie in Guest Relations and Matz in the restaurant. We would not want to stay anywhere else on our next visit to London. Thank you from us both and Well Done!

If you want the most perfect location this is the place. Service was above 10 stars! Front desk, concierge and front door men went up and above to accommodate us. Restaurant service was top notch and Neslie made us feel right at home she is a great asset to Sofitel Saint James, London. W/R/T the room..... carpets were not vacuumed when we arrived and renovations going on above our head and at 9 in the morning. I had emailed weeks before our stay to discuss this matter and they said it wouldn’t affect us..... not bad noise but noise in the afternoon and morning. We had just got off a cruise and wanted the best hotel and quietest.....I would say an 7 out of 10. They did offer to move us though after settling in and being tired we just didn’t have the energy to pack up and move rooms. Thanks Sofitel Saint James, London can’t wait till the next time.

We had a very lovely time at the Sofitel . The staff were exceptional . Everything was perfect . The only thing which was a shame was that our view from our room was less than pleasing . But we were only their for one night , so not a big issue.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and particularly like the fact that as a solo traveller, I never feel uncomfortable. All staff are polite but friendly. The new decor in the restaurant is great, but I did not sample the dinner menu on this visit. I am sure that I shall be back to stay on my next visit to London.
