This was a good experience with some small exceptions. 1)the painting that was hanging above the loo fell off the second day of our stay after the toilet was flushed probably due to to initial false hanging. 2)the waiters and waitresses were not very tidy and could not understand,the one who took the order, english very well.

We had a long stay here. Great hotel with great locations. Service was impeccable throughout. With its location near Piccadilly this is the most complete hotel. Classic building and modern rooms make Sofitel suitable for business and family stays.

« Bit of a bumpy check in but eventually settled into a nice room overlooking street. »

Booked a Classic room but was extremely disappointed to the one allocated as it was as far from the elevator as possible, up stairs, and had a high window you couldn't see out of. I found it very claustrophobic so the only option was to upgrade to the only room available which was much bigger and spacious but a big jump in cost. Eventually settled in and had a nice stay on a very busy weekend. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Very good location. Our only issue with the room was the lack of privacy through the window which looks directly onto the street outside. As it's on the first floor it's quite visible from outside as we discovered ourselves but were told at check in the window was 'black' and people couldn't see in. This was clearly not the case.

Everything was perfect except our room which we were surprised about. The double bed was only assessable from one side. My fiancé had to clamber to the end of the bed to get out. This wasn’t expected after paying for a superior room. My regret was not saying something when we noticed it. It didn’t spoil our stay and we had a fab New Year break in London.

We took a short 3 night city break between Xmas and the New Year in order to catch the ballet (Nutcracker) and meet up with friends for lunch. The Sofitel St James was ideal due to its central location. From the moment we arrived until we left, we were made to feel special. Our room was well appointed with everything we needed, the location was quiet and the housekeeping service was excellent. We had breakfast in the room and made use of the bar for after show drinks. An all round first class service from Sofitel and we would recommend this hotel to others. We will most definitely revisit.

The service from your staff is always great! The restaurant did not serve a good lunch (for example, the fries were not cooked and the fish to well done). The service at the restaurant was slow and not at the level one is to expect from you.
