Dear PAUL U., Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent stay at the ibis Manchester Centre Princess Street (new ibis rooms). I am sorry that your overall experience failed to meet your expectations. At Ibis, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Due to our central location, I hope you appreciate that it is very difficult for us to stop all external noise, including the ones coming from the building site near by. All our rooms are fitted with double glazing windows as well as complimentary ear plugs in order to minimise the disturbance. I apologise if this wasn't sufficient on this occasion. May I inform you that some of our accommodations are facing the back of the hotel and tempt to be quieter. However, as their amount is limited, we would recommend guests to ask for them prior to arrival by contacting the hotel directly. I have also noted your remark concerning the Air Climate Control system (not air conditioning) which has been fitted in all our rooms. It is linked to the outside temperature, meaning that if the external To is below 20oC you'll have warm air and if the external To is above 20oC you'll get cool air. We appreciate this may not suit all our guests, therefore would you have raised your discomfort with a member of the Team, we would have provided a portable fans in order to help making your sty more enjoyable. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome your back in the near future for a hassle free visit. From the time that we got there until we left it was absolutely brilliant. The manager was wonderful friendly and full of knowledge. He made us feel like we were the only ones important to him. He couldn't do enough for us. Could have been more choice for food but what there was did taste good. I didn't want to leave at all

I stayed at rm506, twin room. That night I got red dots on both legs when I laid on bed. I immediately talked to your staff. Pauline didn't think it was bed bite and suspected to be allergy with bed linen. Rooms were fully occupied that night. She was helpful and gave me some towels to cover the bed sheets. Still, the red dots were growing more that night and became very itchy. I could not sleep. Next morning I requested to change room and moved to room 123. This room on lower floor facing the main entrance. I was awaken by the talking pedestrians, drunk men, ambulance and collecting rubbish truck. This was another sleepless night. Red dots on my both legs become swollen red clearly with a bite point on each dot. Until today they were still on my legs and itchy. It did spoilt my interest of rest journey. I am a return customer and did not have such experience last year. I am still not sure whether they were bed bites, insect bite or just allergy to something as what your staff said. I only can assure they appeared when I laid on the bed of your room

I am sorry that your experience failed to meet your expectations on this occasion. At Ibis, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us and we take comments of this nature with the utmost seriousness. As informed, Pest control experts were called in to inspect your room thoroughly and they couldn't find any evidence of bed bugs or other insects. A copy of their report is available if needed. Nevertheless, we will still continue monitoring the situation in addition to the hotel regular preventive actions already in place. As you requested, we reallocated you in a different twin room, most of which are located on the 1st floor. As the hotel was already very busy, we assigned you the quietest available room at the time. Due to its location, and while all our accommodations are fitted with double glazing windows as well as complimentary ear plugs, I apologise for the disturbance you experienced. Unfortunately, we didn't have any other free twin rooms on a higher floor or at the back of the hotel. Room was very good with comfortable bed,very good shower room with well designed basin arrangement,nicely decorated and kept very clean.Ear plugs were provided to shut out city noise but with window shut noise was virtually eliminated.One problem we did have was shower room fan wasstem on a central timer system and kept coming on during the night,maintenance man said this may be a fault with system programming.Buffet breakfast system was good but would have liked to have had fried eggs available rather than just scrambled and for bacon to be less streaky,but otherwise perfectly good breakfast,and it is available until 10am weekdays and 12pm at weekends. Overall,a pleasant stay in a comparatively quiet area of the city and very good value for money with the three nights for the price of two offer that we had.

« Good but there was problems »

Good size room and bathroom/shower. Breakfast was great, but we missed it on Monday as we were not told that the time changed from weekend breakfast times. Comfy bed but only one extra spare pillow. There was dead insects in the bedding when pulled back. Aircon was awful, don’t think it worked properly even after inquiring how to use it. Only had 4 tv channels, despite it being free view. Shower jel/hair wash not very present to use. A staff member ignored the do not disturb sign to ask very rudely if we could check out early even though we had paid extra for late check out, which I had to prove to her that we did as she did not believe me. The hotel also cost more than the festival ticket which was the reason we needed to stay, which was really shocking as it is meant to be a budget hotel and myself an my partner are both students.

Cheap location , the room was ok but the carpet felt a little dirty , i came back from a night out and i had to go all the way down reception as my card key wouldnt work , it finally worked on the 3rd attempt of uo and down the lift .

Comfortable, not too hot, late check out which is good, didn't disturb us when we were in the hotel room for house keeping - left fresh towels and tissue hanging on the door handle in a bag for us which was good for privacy.

Not impressed to be confronted with earplugs in this "new room" on the "quiet side" of the hotel... Hobson's choice = fresh air and road noise e.g. Mancunian Way roar/rumble as well as Princess Street late night revellers or stifle . Better still was the smell of curry which seemed to be coming from the Eastern Restaurant, located within the ground floor of the hotel below [open till midnight Saturday] with [unfiltered?] fans from its kitchen noisily discharging below the bedroom windows on the south [quiet] side of the hotel... What a way to get the "full flavour" of Manchester.... so again shut the window and stifle or get the smells until at least midnight...

My stay was excellent, everything was so easy and quick. The room was great, my fiancé is 6”6 and the bed wasn’t too small and it was so comfortable! If we ever need to stay overnight in Manchester again, this is the place we’ll visit.
