« A nice hotel, conveniently located to the Geneva main train station »

We selected the Novotel Geneva Centre hotel primarily for the reputation of the brand and the lcoation close (but not too close) to the Geneva main train station. We were not disappointed. The staff at Reception on checkin and in the Gourmet Bar where we ate dinner were all really friendly and helpful. The hotel provided a complimentary Geneva public transport for our stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet. We would have preferred to have a window to open for fresh air at night (all the windows were fixed glass) however the air conditioning was quiet and easily adjusted. The only hiccup we encountered was that the drainage from the bathroom toilet had apparently been compromised by something a previous occupant had flushed down. This was not immediately obvious on initial usage but by morning, the drainage had become very slow ! (This problem was reported to the Reception staff at checkout.)

Ac was stuck on hot althought it showed 16 degree on the termostat there was more like 27. Every time i used the sink a terrible smell came out of the drain.

Hotel is at the standard of Novotel / probably in the low range of the brand/ Location is fair enough, even if the neighbourhood could be better ( some dark traffic in the street). Breakfast is good. but forgot restaurant as there is very little choice. But as downtown is closed it's not a big issue as long as weather is ok

The Staff was somewhat friendly but not real difference between Gold status and the others. And generally speaking no one knows about he welcome gift for Gold members. So that was not offered. All in all the free upgrade was a wonderful touch but the espresso machine in the room was leaking and not quite easy to get it to work. An old Nespresso model. Very kind staff at the bar. So OK is quite accurate.

Average stay for Novotel standard. Room quality was average. Neighborhood was below expectation. I was also charged breakfast at checkout as the cleck assumed I had breakfast - please ask the question before assuming / issue was resolve a few minutes later once I saw the paper invoice.

Too close to red light district- not pleasant entering or leaving the hotel. Booking process was worse than poor and took me 3 phone calls and 5 emails to sort. Kept sending emails with wrong booking details

« More attention to details please... »

Hotel stay was ok, nothing more, nothing less. It is not in the best neighborhood of Geneva (Red District) but is manageable. Room quality was below other Novotel visited in my "traveling career..." At check-out, the clerk charged me extra fees (breakfast) as he assumed that I had breakfast at hotel (without even asking the question). When I saw mistake on paper invoice, issue was resolved within a few minutes...please pay more attention to details...

The staff was very helpful. One thing is that the rate we used to book via Concur mentioned breakfast for 2 while your staff could not see the breakfast included in the rate. We had very long discussion with them. I had a call prior to my visit confirming the inclusion of the breakfast in the rate for 2; however on check in I was told that breakfast is not included in the rate. After a long discussion, they agreed to include 1 breakfast however I had to pay for the 2nd one. This was not fair on me. Also the bedsheet in room 605 had red stain ( not sure if it was blood). We did notice it the next day and request a change of the bed sheet. This has disturbed my wife slightly and we requested a full clean up of the room which they did, Also the internet dropped everyday and you have to re-sign in. I did not like this. Other than that, we had a very good time.

« a reason i come back to Novotel during each travel.... »

My son hid my mobile below the pillow & without realizing we checked out. After an hour on the way my son reminded of his prank told me about the phone ! I drove back & explained the front desk - they have me the access key to check, as no check-in was done. I walked in to a room, where cleaning / make-over was in progress. Then the person incharge of cleaning Ms. Ana B pointed me to the table, 'my phone' with her hand written note' ready to be sent to the manager ! there are certain reason why we stay with the same choices & above is one example of the 'values' Novotel have always represented - 'trust' !

Happy overall, rooms are not very welcoming but they are functional. Breakfast was nice. But the problem was the AC, it was very hot in the rooms and impossible to get a comfortable temperature not open the windows.

From October to April we stop the air condition system and use the heating only, so, there is no cool air that comes into the rooms. Good location, walking distance to many sights. Staff were pleasant and you get a free travel card. However my room was very bland/poky and dated. Could do with a refurbishment. No crockery or milk provided for coffee. Blind in the bathroom was awful and did not offer privacy when in the shower! Free chocolate in the room which was nice.

The Novotel in Geneva is conveniently located not far from the lake and a stone away from the train station which was ideal for the purpose of our trip (to renew our son's Brazilian passport). Everything was easy from there. The unique problem that affected our stay (and that was not the least), is that the room temperature was quite high despite regulating to 17 degrees Celsius. None of us had a good night of sleep. The other problem (less important) is that the hotel was not able to charge my MasterCard, which seems to be a common problem in some merchants in Switzerland (basically the bank stated that the terminal is not connecting to the MC server). I was able to withdraw money to pay for the room at a cash dispenser. I would have love to have the option to pay from the booking phase (which Accorhotel unfortunately did not offer).
