« Customer/ guest satisfaction : importance ? »

I´ve asked for a "soup" plate during breakfast which I require for my muesli. The answer given by staff member to me, was : "we do this reluctantly". -> ! I´ve not asked for a bowl of oysters of fresh strawberrys, no, just for a plate! Valued employees at Novotel and hotels in general, please trust my +50 years of muesli experience: An ordinary portion requires such kind of a plate and the dessert shells that are offered for this purpose at your breakfast buffet are really just inadequate. At the evening I´ve asked in the restaurant whether I can get even a G. of wine for the free drink voucher I´ve received as an Accor "gold" member during check in. The waiter agreed but then came back to ask me if I would like to have 0.2l or 0.1l from the wine of my choice. Because I can only receive 0.1l for this voucher. My question here : How much is it to snuffle at the cork of the bottle please ? Suggestion: Better just serve 0.1l without further asking such a distressing question, which appeared just penurious to me, under this circumstance. The "Black Angus" Beef burger I´ve ordered (19,90 Euro!) appeared really questionable to me. The poor animal unfortunately had to die twice, latest in the Novotel kitchen. No, I was not satisfied with that meal, which in my opinion was just quite simple and overpriced. My room and the bath was clean and pleasant and anything else during my stay as expected and as usual very good so far.

« Nice hotel lovely staff shame about room »

Hotel is really nice ,staff friendly and food good. The only issue we had was I stated when booking that we were 3 gentlemen and asked for 3 single beds I also emailed the hotel to ensure this wasn’t a problem. When we arrived we were told it would be a double & sofa bed as we had booked the “best room” available ‍♂️ I certainly think as I specifically asked twice prior to arrival someone could have and should have resolved this simple request. Which spoiled an otherwise great stay!

« Tidy, firendly hotel with a good choice at breakfast »

Room was very nice and mine included a Nespresso machine and a complimentary bottle of water. Staff were friendly, breakfast had a nice variety and overall I was happy with my stay. Entrance to the car park is a bit tight, but that is often the case with basement car parks. Would certainly stay here again.

We have booked last minute, the staff was extremely kind and friendly, the room and the bathroom very clean. The hotel is located very close to the city center, in just 10-15 minutes on foot.

The hotel is situated very conveniently close to the city centre. The check-in was fast and we were cordially treated. We could leave the car in the parking even after checkout. The only reason why I don't give full rating is because the 3rd bed for children was hard.

Friendly staff, nice and newly renovated and clean room, nice breakfast, good service. The elevators did not work properly but for us that was not a big deal. The child corner beeing between the reception and the bar is really good, we could enjoy our drinks while the kids were playing

« The service level does not reach the one of 4 star hotel. »

Despite the booking was done for 3 people, the 3rd bed was not done, even there were no pillow, sheets, blanket in the room, no towel for the 3rd person. I had to ask twice. In the morning at 8:30 the cleaning lady (or other employee of the hotel) openned the door while we were sleeping! This waked me up. Then at 9 o'clock again another employee of the hotel knocked at the door, and when I openned it, he apologized. You have a computer where you can see if someone checked out or not. If not, you should not disturb your guest. I think this would be a normal request, even in a 2 star hotel.

« Normal 4 star hotel, but I will not repeat again »

I travel each week for work to Cologne, first time I stay in this hotel. In comparison to the other accor hotels in Cologne, I did not feel expected, even if I have my gold accord hotel I had to wait in the row to get my "fast check in" card, then the card was not active so had to come back to the reception, normaly with the loyalty card I am offered a room upgrade or in the reception tell me that sometimes is not possible due to the occupation that day, in this Novotel I got neither the upgrade or the explanation. I was excited about the idea of going to the sauna upstairs, but it was so small, that with 3 people was alredy crowded. There are no drinks in the room, you have to go down and buy it in the reception. and the USB power outlet aside the bed were not working, I plugged my phone the whole night, but next morning I was with no battery, very inconvenient for traveling.

We booked 2 rooms for 7 days and 1 room for 5 days. They end up by deducting the (wrong) prepayment for the room for 5 days from the stay for 7 days and charging us the balance for 2 days.After contacting them, they are not willing to make a refund.
