I had a nice room, very clean and bright. Unfortunately, both at check-in and check-out, it was extremely slow at reception. When checking-in, I decided to have dinner instead. When checking out, which I always do before breakfast, it left me with hardly any time for breakfast. A shame, considering the considerable cost for it. The service at the restaurant was excellent.

Execellent stay in Novotel Koeln City. Spacious and clean room, great breakfast and also we had a good dinner experience at the hotel's restaurant. The gym is modern and quite empty in the morning. It has a beautiful panoramic view of the Dom. It's my 3rd stay in the hotel and it has always kept its promises. I'll definitely stay another time.

Clean bright rooms, friendly and helpful staff, modern bar and restaurant area. We really enjoyed our stay here and although the hotel is not in the centre of Köln it is easy to walk to or reach via public transport. I would definitely return or recommend to others.

I probably just got the wrong room…. the toilett needed to be repaired and my room was so narrow to the lift, that I couldn't nearly Sleep due to the noise… Really bad experience.

Nice room friendly staff, lack of English tv channels, odd voucher to get snacks and drinks from reception why not use the mini bar? Bit of a way from the centre of town.

We stayed here for total of 8 nights. The rooms were quiet and had all the needed basic amenities. The Housekeeping team is doing an amazing job, those that I’ve met were very professional and friendly! On the other side, unfortunately I can not say the same about the Front Office team, surprisingly some of the employees made us feel very unwelcomed. As a hotel manager myself I would strongly recommend for the Hotel Management to conduct a silent audit and see the areas for improvement. When we make bookings with Accor Hotels, we are confident that personalized customer service is always on the top of their agenda, unfortunately I can not say the same about our stay here.

It was a little disappointing

Firstly the lights stopped working, so we couldn't get a shower after travelling. (no windows in bathroom) It took 2 attempts to have someone come to look at this, but when they did they identified we had a faulty plug socket. So we couldn't use that for charging our devices. The TV stopped working too, and one night it came on in the middle of the night and threw out white light accross the room. We couldn't turn it off, so I got no sleep that night. For the money we paid, the room was clean but quite basic. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were good too. Just a shame the room had problems which affected our stay.

Good business hotel, lacking public transport connectivity

It had been a while since I stayed at Novotel Köln City. Overall, I had a good experience. The hotels are renovated to the new Novotel house style, with comfortable furniture, excellent bedding and a big Samsung TV you can connect to your laptop or WiFi. The bathroom with walk in shower was also comfortable, modern and clean. The hotel also has a fitness room and a sauna if you want to relax or work on your physique in the evening. Breakfast was up the the usual Novotel standard. I loved the bowl bar where you can construct your own yoghurt bowls. The buffet had all the expected options and the breakfast room was clean and offered enough space. The restaurant/bar has a limited menu with the usual caesar salad, burger and chicken dishes, wich are prepared well enough, but you're probably better off to just eat out in the city centre. Novotel Köln is probably best reached with a car or a taxi, as the connection to public transport is really rather lacking. Apart from Tram 16 (more than ten minutes away on foot) and bus line 133 you'll be walking about 30 minutes to reach anything in the city centre. The WiFi was also rather slow, especially since I was using WiFi vouchers that should offer better speed. Especially the first evening it was slow as molasses. It improved the following days, maybe because some people attending a fair at the Kölnmesse left?

Parking was very convenient. Check in was quick and easy. Room was a good size as was bathroom with good amenities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the bar one night which was delicious. Air conditioning was a needed asset during this hot spell. Only minor issue we had was we were unable to find out how to get the 'express breakfast'. We are not big eaters but enjoy a small breakfast so rarely go for the buffets. We talked to a couple of members of staff but could not get a good answer to explain if we could get something less than the buffet.

Me and my family stayed at this hotel which is very comfortable and clean. The room has a good size. The staff is very good and kind, they gave us all information that we request. The best is when we checked in they gave us vouchers and we exchange it for wonderful local chocolate bars.
