The hotel is clean, comfortable, and within walking distance of all the sites we wanted to see in Berlin. We ate one morning at the breakfast buffet which was meager for the 20 euros they charged, but it was hot and fresh. Our family suite with 2 bedrooms was perfect and the toilet being separate from the bathroom made mornings for our small group easier. I would definitely recommend this hotel to tourists visiting Berlin.

Great central location Check Point Charlie. Extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Clean well appointed spacious rooms. House keeping efficient and quick on your call. Break fast little repetitive but a good healthy spread. Also proximity to restaurants and pubs and grocery stores, most of them walking distance within a km. Overall definitely a first class experience.

Unsatisfied with customer service from 1 person. She was very pushy and did not listen to our concerns. I had an issue with my breakfast being include and not included. It was not conveyed to me it was 40 Euros for 2 people. I would have went somewhere else for breakfast. We did not stay at the hotel for 3 days but kept our room. I had ask if we could put those 3 days on the first 3 days. I was told they would check (a different person) and call me, which never happened. When we checked out we got the same rude person. She wouldn't even listen. She said the person who booked my room wasn't there and I had to speak to her Monday thru Friday. It was frustrating.

We had a great stay at your hotel. Our room was huge and very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect. On a side street and away from the noise of a busy street, but just a few short minutes walk and you are right at checkpoint charlie and public transportation stops. Really enjoyed our stay.

Friendly staff. Great location, close to public transport and just 15 kms from international airport. Decent breakfast. little too repetitive but tasty and healthy spread. Cons: Wish rooms came with mini refrigerator. Also noise from the corridor or next room can get into your room, luckily the guests were not noisy.

We are a family of 4 adults , staying in the 18th until the 24th of September 2019. The Reception's stuff welcomed us and behaved professionally and kindly. we used the internet desk and the printer. we also used the services of the hotel's taxi driver from the hotel to Schönfeld airport. It feels that the hotel is a Boutique hotel, and it is not very crowded. it is located 15 minutes by walk from Gendarmenmarkt and U-bahn station "Stadtmitte". We took the hotel's suite at the 7th floor, which includes two bedrooms connected (64 square meter). the suite had only one room which includes a shower and a bath. it has also only one toilet. when there are 4 adult people in the suite, it makes everything more difficult to handle. this is the reason some of us had to use the public toilets at the entrance floor. one room had a balcony pacing to the Courtyard. the other room paces to another courtyard. both have big windows. the rooms were very quite. and the area around the hotel was also very quite (low traffic). The Breakfast was excellent, with a great diversity of foods and drinks. a lot of kinds of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juices. the muesli was good with a lot of options to choose of (Berries, Cereals and Nuts). many kinds of cheese. scrambled omelet. very good pastries and breads. the pancake machine produced very tasty pancakes in a short times. diversity of jams and honey. The dining room was well designed. the furniture and the walls gave us very pleasant feeling when eating. the stuff did very well and were very friendly and welcoming. If we will come back to Berlin, we will return to the hotel, and will recommend it to our friends.

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel and Residenz at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin as this hotel was one of the hotel recommended by the Berlin Marathon. We reserved 2 rooms ( privilege room and one with kitchen). During check in there was no introduction or information about the hotel and what amenities it offers. I believe our privilege room should have come with a voucher for the mini bar but we’re not aware of it. There’s a reason we book the residence as we would need to have access to a kitchen for the marathon day. There was a note on the cabinet to call should we need it. Which I did only to be told that I have to wait the following day as the housekeeping is closed. The person who answered the phone was rather dismissive and rude (which I later identified as M. Barysava) I proceeded to request if I can just have a set of silverware and was told again “you can come down to the bar and asked for it”. In my surprised to how the response and treatment I received, I went downstairs and went straight to the bar and explained. The bartender brought me to the front desk and spoke to them (M. Barysava was there and acknowledged that it was her that I spoke to). I was told then that they will be delivering the dish ware to our room. No one apologize for the encounter. Except from the person who delivered the “box full of kitchen stuff” and stated that he apologize on behalf of his colleague. Another encounter with M. Barysava I asked if I can look at the newspaper behind the front desk, which I thought is for the hotel guest use. She was again unhelpful and stated in A very rude tone that “you don’t have what you’re looking for”. I thought at first it’s because of the language. But this isn’t my first nor second encounter with her. I have been all over in Europe and have traveled frequently both for business and vacation never have I experienced that kind of reception from hotel staff. She wasn’t just abrupt and dismissive to me, as I mentioned we had two rooms. She was as rude and as unhelpful to the other members of our party. I am not going to list down all our encounters with her but all of them were very, very unpleasant. If we ask her a question, rather than helping us like the other staff, she continued to be rude to us and doesn’t maintain eye contact when she speak to us. I do not want to think that this has something to do with anything. But her treatment to us is unacceptable. I brought this up to the other staff not once but twice and she was spoken to twice. The reason I am writing this is solely to make you aware how our experience starting at the Mercure. And that this should not happened again.

Dear Ms. A., I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the problems regarding the service and for the behaviopur of the employee. That is unacceptable! Please rest assured that I have already looked into this and taken steps - and within my team I will make sure that negative experiences are a rare exception in the future. I feel very bad for the inconveniences you had to deal with - and at the same time I do appreciate your feedback, which is an important component toward long lasting and continuously improving quality services. The room is fine, I was in a privilege room with extra space but the cleaning was mediocre (one of the days the toilet was not cleaned) and the breakfast is really poor for the price that we paid.

We had a nice stay at the hotel. The room was perfect for a couple and the employees were really attentive and nice to us. The only problem we had was that initially the airconditioning took a long time to cool the room. After a while this was ok. Second to that we expected the gym to have some more equipments, but this was compensated by the sauna.

Friendly, helpful staff. Really liked the bartender. Room well-kept and clean. Nice, quiet area, but close to the Checkpoint Charlie Cold War attractions. My suggestions: (1) The only beer in the cold case was Bitburger -- you should have more kinds of beer -- especially local beers -- as an option. Also, the shower should have a grab bar directly under the towel rack.

Overall the experience was good and the reception staff were very helpful. However, we did feel frustrated that our intentions to comply with the procedures to avoid unnecessary washing of bed linen was ignored. We understood that if we hung our bath towels we did not require them to be laundered but despite doing this every day we received fresh towels. We mentioned this to the reception staff and they indicated they would attend to it but the next day we encountered the same problem. One day we came back early and found all our towels thrown on the floor....and we had hung them up. We also did not require our bed to be made up everyday as we can easily do this - but again we failed to get this request carried out. I think perhaps there was a communication problem. Otherwise we loved our stay.

Liked hotel location and loved Berlin.Good breakfast .Bar service poor very slow.Room service not good underwear found behind our bathroom door showing room was not cleaned .no bottle opener.had to ask for info on how coffee machine worked and ask for water .Disappointing
