The location of the hotel is accessible to many place of interest. The hotel room is also very clean and good for family. Hotel staff is very polite and friendly. However during our stay the heater is not working for the last 2 nights, we have feedback on the 1st night and it works after the hotel staff come over and check. The 2nd night, the heater is not working again and we are tired to feedback again.

The apartment in the Residenz was excellent except that the coffee machine didn’t work, despite being replaced/repaired twice. The fitness facilities definitely need upgradation, which for starters could be achieved by adding a Concept2 rowing machine, which takes very limited space. The breakfast spread was good and the service excellent.

Staff was helpful from check-in to check-out. Our room was exceptional - clean and spacious with all the amenities needed for our three day stay. Parking the car was pricey but at least we had an option besides parking on the street.

Mercure Checkpoint Charlie is my favorite Mercure hotel, all categories. Rooms are spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable. Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is extremely good. Bar and restaurant is great. Location is very good, close to everything. Nothing to complain about all. This was my second time in this hotel. There will be a third for sure.

Relatively comfortable, relatively clean, but not what expected. We paid for the ‘suite’ in 103. Although a lovely big room, it wasn’t the cleanest. 1 small blue sofa and 1 blue arm chair that were filthy. Very dusty under the bed. The sofa bed wasn’t made up and there was no bedding for it. When we asked reception for bedding, the first response was “well did you request for it to be made up?” This came across rude as from your side, you assumed that we were going to share the same bed. No apology. We then asked for extra pillows at the same time and the receptionist said, “if we have any”. We then came back from dinner and the sheets were just dumped on the dirty blue sofa. There was no iron in the room. Although there was an ironing room - this was supposed to be a 4* suite. No hair dryer. The glassware was dirty. The room service menu was awful - a very low level of choice. When we went to the restaurant instead - it was the same menu. When we asked the guy working in the restaurant somewhere we could get schnitzel - he said there was an Italian restaurant down the road that definitely sells it - I thought this was a bit weird - as we approached “the Italian restaurant” - it was Vapiano...everybody in their right mind knows that vapiano does not sell Wiener schnitzel. I’m not expecting your staff to be an encyclopaedia of places to eat German food. But if you don’t know - ask somebody else or say you’re not sure rather than send people to somewhere you’re unsure of the menu. Overall, the stay was fine. The staff were generally polite and always said hello and goodbye in the reception. The toilets and bathrooms were very clean. The bed was comfortable and the windows opened completely which is a big bonus for me when I like the windows open at night. However this hotel is in no way a 4 star hotel and it needs to work on the little things to get it back up there.

A functional hotel but very busy at breakfast perhaps needs a bigger area? For a privilege room the mini bar should be re stocked daily and not limited to 6 drinks and 2 snacks. At least with soft drinks. 2 single duvets for a double bed is not good should be a double duvet. Otherwise very clean and tidy room.

Very disappointing Put a claim in that we got at least two categories lower room than booked an pre paid- no reactions far!!!

Please allow me to explain: you have booked a family suite with two bedrooms and also get, however - not in the classic sense, as you might expect with a hallway and left and right a room. Here are the two sleeping areas in the maisonette on top of each other and are accessible by a spiral staircase, not separated by doors. This was our first trip to Berlin and our honeymoon. The hotel was in a great location, an easy walk to wherever we wanted to go. I'd booked a love themed room and it was lovely, we had our own terrace and rose petals on the bed when we arrived. The staff on reception were fantastic, very helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and within walking distance of all the sites we wanted to see in Berlin. We ate one morning at the breakfast buffet which was meager for the 20 euros they charged, but it was hot and fresh. Our family suite with 2 bedrooms was perfect and the toilet being separate from the bathroom made mornings for our small group easier. I would definitely recommend this hotel to tourists visiting Berlin.

Great central location Check Point Charlie. Extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Clean well appointed spacious rooms. House keeping efficient and quick on your call. Break fast little repetitive but a good healthy spread. Also proximity to restaurants and pubs and grocery stores, most of them walking distance within a km. Overall definitely a first class experience.
