I have stayed at this hotel before, and it is a great place to stay. Easy access to tourist sights if you want to go sightseeing, but also convenient for business meeting in the city. Team are very welcoming and have a good sense of humor. Rooms are clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

« worst Mercure experience I've had »

I've stayed in a number of Mercure hotels in the past, but this was by far the worst experience of all of them. The evening receptionist (K Babe ?) was most miserable and surly, unlike the guy who welcomed us and the women who checked us out. On the three separate occasions I spoke to him, I was made to feel that I was interrupting what he was doing and a nuisance. Additionally, on the last night we inquired about the cost of breakfast for the morning and again, I was made to feel a nuisance. This and the price made us decide not to bother! The room was ok, but the welcome email we received stated the room came with VIP bathroom and mineral water. No mineral water was in the room when we arrived, so I went to reception and after a lot of questions, eventually K Babe said some would be delivered to the room whilst we were out. Upon our return we found one 500ml bottle for 4 of us. Not only that, but just the one bottle over the 5 nights! Wow, thanks Mercure for spoiling us!!! Bring on Hilton or Holiday Inn who supply plenty and replace everyday! As for the VIP bathroom - if that means a walk in shower and shampoo and shower gel, well I hate to imagine what a normal bathroom gets! Used glasses were not cleaned or replaced. Tissues not replaced. Overall, quite disappointing for a hotel chain that I've had a lot of respect and enjoyment with before, but I'll certainly consider similar brands ahead of Mercure in the future based on this experience.

Generally I am positive, I stay there every two weeks. Normally I get a nice room. This time my room was smelly, not good. When I checkin I am rarely recognised as a regular guest, its very much depending on the person if there is a personal touch. There is a personal note in the room, but personal note at checkin is much more important.

The size of the room was very un-hotel like, high ceilings and airy. Very nice for a change, and partly why we chose it. We did not have breakfast as it seems quite expensive, although I would probably still have stayed here if it was an all inclusive price.

Everything was perfect. I had a balcony in the room. I also liked the inner yard where I was having breakfasts. There were a safebox and a fridge in the room. The airconditioning worked efficiently. The elevators were never overloaded. The area is good for a shopping stroll along Friedrichstrasse, getting, however, fairly quiet at night.

« Worst experience ever! »

Thank you for what was the worst and the most humiliating check-in I have encountered in 30 years of traveling worldwide. Not only that you have ignored my previous email, but, due to hotel rooms being overbooked, you have decided to move us in a flat in an apartment building: - no reception; - no breakfast, although we have already paid for it; - no one to help us with the luggages or with the baby stroller; - no minibar, just a small bottle of water left by mistake in the room (I am saying by mistake as there was no opener available, so I had to take the elevator, exit the building, walk on the Main Street to go to the main building to open it); - kitchen but with dishes and tableware locked; - absolutely no facilities, this is just a block of flats; - what about the Accor status benefits...you have totally forgotten to apply them, unless the bottle of water was the welcome drink and the room service bringing the opener after an hour is the turndown service. I have stayed at almost all big brands hotels including other Accor facilities, but I have never experienced a similar treatment. I will make sure this review is shared with Accor management and with other travelers on the main traveling portals. On top of that, while trying to “redeem” the free lemonade voucher I have found in an envelope that I have received at the check-in (copy attached) I have been told that this is an invalid one as its room number and date of stay are wrong and I have been asked how did I manage to get it.
