« No Hot Water + Reception hung up on me when told »

When we arrived, I pre checked in but they were not aware of it. No Bed was made up for my child First Morning there was no hot water - rang reception and asked was there a problem with hot water, reply was No and I advised that we had no hot water in sinks, bath or shower and the reception (male) hung up on me.... I went downstairs and spoke to Male reception (Fri 7th Dec - 9 am approx) and advised again of what happened - then I advised him to make the manager aware of what happened - hot water plus rude unhelpful reception. (No body spoke or corresponded to me on the problem) Breakfast area and food was lovely. Would I stay again - No . I work in the tourism trade and would be horrified if my staff were representing my brand in this way. Sorry I used this hotel as I am a member of other hotel brands and should have used them No heating control in room

Great location. Near to U Bahn station on Friedrich Straße. One of the best Christmas markets (Gendarmenmarkt) within walking distance. Near to Checkpoint Charlie as the hotel name suggests. Big comfortable double room was more than adequate for our needs. Area was quiet and felt safe at night. Variety of eating places nearby.

A cautionary tale……….. I booked a Privilege Room for our 4-night stay for my husband’s birthday. The room confirmed being a double with VIP bathroom with bathrobes. Free of charge in the room: minibar, mineral water, coffee/tea and daily newspaper. Also included: WIFI and late check-out Unfortunately, on check in we were advised this is not the case and this hotel as it most certainly does not offer any of the privilege room details we had confirmed. The check in guy was really pleased however to offer us an upgraded room with a hob, microwave and seated area, but for us, being on holiday and out all day it really was wasted. I would rather have had the double room booked and a good shower rather than the twin-bedded suite. The bathroom was quirky in that the toilet was on the other side of the room away from the main bathroom. The bath, with a shower in the end was not ideal as it was so dark due to being enclosed at the shower end with no lighting. Plus having to climb into the bathroom was a challenge for a five foot person ! In fact, overall, the lighting in the room was poor, we had to move the main lamp each time we boiled the kettle etc to get some light The room, with a separate entrance to the main hotel, connected via a loft then a walkway, would have been fabulous for a young family wanting more space and somewhere to sit etc. You can request cutlery from housekeeping and I think pans etc so with the microwave you could cater for yourself. So in honesty it really was a great room just not what I booked or really needed The reservation manager after a few days, handled our complaint well. Professionally, sympathetically and with empathy. We managed to come to an agreement to overcome our disappointment re the Privilege room facilities. She did offer to move us to a double room but half way through our stay we were over it and wanted to try to forget the disappointment and enjoy the holiday. All this aside the hotel is really nice and despite our experience and disappointment I would recommend the hotel but not pay the extra for a privilege room. Location is perfect. It is just a short walk to the hustle and bustle of Friedrichstrasse, ten minutes from Checkpoint Charlie and the pick-up point for the hop on off buses. Also close to Jewish Museum and Topography of Terrors. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes from the main train station, 15.5 miles (25 km) from Schönefeld Airport. We drove and where out of the city within 30 minutes on the motorway Metered car parking is available outside and is 2 euros an hour, doesn’t accept UK credit cards though so either have lots of change or park in the hotels garage, all be it tight corners if you have a long car. It is 25 Euros a day just a couple of Euros more than the meter, but you don’t have to keep going out to put money in and its underground dry There are lots of cafes and Italian restaurants locally and one French restaurant however always full so book up if you really want to eat there . Supermarkets are a few minutes away for water etc Overall despite the disappointment we had , I would recommend this as a good hotel and great base for Berlin sight seeing

I’ve had better experiences at mecure hotels. Negatives: - Priority room wasn’t really priority. The mini fridge was only stocked once. Toiletries weren’t re-stocked. TV channels where awful and no british channels. - Staff where not really great. Wanted to stop an extra night but they was not facilitating at all. The netting on the balcony made it feel like a prison. Never seen that before. Positives: - Room was huge. - Good location -

Fast booking by using the Accorhotels App. The front office achieved to allocate me a room I 've asked for (quiet room, far away as possible of stairways and lift). Very tidy hotel and very convenient, close of the city centre. Helpful staff (front office, breakfast). The bar guy didn't took in account my 10% discount as a Platinum member despite the fact I shown my cards during my first beverage order. He told me he cannot undo the error once the receipt was signed. The cleaning staff is quite early on sunday morning (starts to knock at doors from 9h15!).
