Our property has started to undergo some various enhancements – started from our public area and gradually we will turn a large segment of our room inventory to a more contemporary style with enlarged bathrooms. Offering fresh fruits as part of our buffet selection is indeed a standard. After checking with our Executive Chef: it appeared we encountered some delivery as well as quality issues – leaving us no other choice than serving these fruits as an alternative. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Also, your comment about offering more vegetarian options has been well noted and we’ll take your comment into our consideration to improve in the future. However, we do offer several vegetarian options in our a la carte menu. At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. The room accommodation was spacious and very clean, beds were comfortable, shower decor whilst good could do with upgrade, but efficient and clean. Facilities within the hotel were excellent and staff very friendly and efficient. Superb Breakfast buffet, restaurants staff were very attentive but unobtrusive. The hotel location was excellent being just around the corner from the Main shopping street and easy walking distance to Tianamen square and the Forbidden City. I would recommend the hotel and would definitely stay here again.

« Great Staff & Location »

The location was perfect; lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The subway was an easy walk. The front desk, bell and housekeeping staff were very considerate. The breakfast buffet was very good. Rooms were decent (our second room was in better shape than our first, which had issues in the bathroom due to poor construct of the shower). The second set of rooms were extremely nice. The only big issue we had is that other guests smoked, so that the hallways (and even our room) stunk. We requested a change to another floor and we had the same problem on a completely different floor.

One bad experience was the sprinkler head in the shower room, the water coming from handheld head was too strong that your body felt very discomfort (pain) and the ceiling sprinkler was leaking while using the handheld one. Totally annoying.

« Great location ... but the hotel room is tired and seriously need a fresh updated »

- Generally ok but I think I can find a better deal elsewhere - Wifi, which is one of the most important services is very slow. I could not send or download media, cant access some websites too (have to use my own data plan) etc. - Lightings are poorly designed and old. The room is still very dim even switching on all the lights - Somehow the room cleaners never finishing her cleaning job at one time, a few times she needs to come back with towels, floor mat etc. Strange! - The breakfast selection is boring and not up to standard . I have stayed for 7 days and the menu hardly change.

Overall, it's adequate and I am pleased. Check-in was superb and easy. Wifi never work anywhere in the hotel. Porter was excellent. Airconditioning needs to be improved, too warm even for winter. Lighting in room needs to be improved.

The hotel was close to the major attractions which we liked. The staff were great and we enjoyed our stay. Only negative is that our deposit was not returned at checkout and we are still waiting for this to happen.

« Great location and very good Hotel »

We had a most enjoyable stay. The Hotel is situated in an excellent area near the main shopping area and only an easy 20 min walk to the Forbidden city. A great mall only minutes away (APM Mall) with many floors of restaurants. There is also a good restaurant in the Hotel. Staff were good with good English. We have only rated it down a little as the rooms were somewhat dated and tired.

Very disappointing... here is some of the many concerns we came across. The room were very old, very dark and in need of immediate renovations. The entire building smelt of cigarettes. The furnitures in the rooms were - torn and had stains on them The hot water system did work properly and you had to wait about 10 minutes for the hot water. The room temperature was not regulated properly
