Dirty rooms, not properly cleaned. Unclearable floaties in the kettle. Stains on doona, pillow cases and sheets that I don't want to know what they were. Didn't change sheets. No doona covers, just two flat sheets on either side of a doona being held together with safety pins. Pretty poor... Biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness

Reception staff were excellent. Room was spacious. Main concern was the noise level from interconnected room - it was as though there was no door there. I could hear very clearly each time the person moved, spoke and their alarm/phone rang at a little after 5am on two occasions!!

Not safe for a single female and dirty

The room was very basic, the queen sized bed was so warped that I was unable to sleep in it, therefore I had to use the single bed. The bathroom floor was always wet, even when I had not had a shower. Therefore I was using both bathmat and a towel in order to walk on it. I understand that there will be a certain level of activity at the hotel, however there was not a single night I stayed there that I was not woken by disturbances by locals who are permitted in the hotel grounds. As a single female visiting, I was extremely happy I was on the second floor, however one morning I was walking down the stairs to breakfast, and was approached by a group of middle aged Indigenous men jeering at me. This made me very uncomfortable and question my safety. Lets talk about the 'restaurant' breakfast - the one morning I did go in (only went once during my stay) When I went in, the place was filthy with no tables free and cleaned. The one poor girl who was there was clearly overwhelmed by the amount of cleaning up she had to do, and had not done it. I had no where to sit, so had to sit on an occupied table with other guests - this is not acceptable. There should be some attempt by staff to clean tables during the breakfast period, so that every guest can sit at a clean table and have breakfast peacefully. After seeing your cook come out of the kitchen with a bucket!!!! of baked beans and one of sausages, and seeing how completely filthy his kitchen uniform was, I was totally turned off eating anything that came from there. I have spent 20+ years in the hospitality sector, both front and back of house, so I know that times get busy and you get a little dirty. But the cook should be wiping his hands/plates etc on a teatowel attached to his uniform (usually this was tucked into the apron) What kind of message does this give visitors?? I just instantly felt that the kitchen environment would be dirty - if the cook looks like that, I wonder what the rest of the kitchen is like??? I am certain you did not want to give off this impression?? On my second last night staying there (I went to another hotel for the Friday night so I didn't have to spend another night at Ibis) there was a lot of commotion about 1:30am - and not only did I struggle to get back to sleep, the drunken jeering and swearing made me feel very unsafe. It turns out, the noise I was hearing was men throwing rocks and stones into the glass door of a downstairs room, occupied by ANOTHER SINGLE FEMALE conference delegate just like myself. It turned out she also called your hotel reception only to find it unmanned and without emergency contact. In the end, she called the police as she was fearful for her safety. I am certain you will be receiving her survey too at some stage. Learning about this during my day on Friday, I made the decision to leave the Ibis as I value my safety and privacy, and should feel safe to sleep at night. I am eternally grateful I left. As I was standing in the undercover area in front of your lobby waiting for my taxi, three middle aged drunk local Indigenous men came in and approached me again. I am unsure if they were the same that were yelling at me the first morning. I was in Alice Springs for a work conference about Indigenous inclusion and collaboration, therefore I do NOT expect to be labelled racist for what I have expressed. I was saddened when I arrived in Alice seeing the 6ft high fences and razor wire, and was hoping that my first experience of the Territory was going to be one of positivity and hope for the future. However it was marred by the safety implications for single females endured at the Ibis. I now understand why your hotel was not on the 'preferred accommodation' lists for conference delegates. I believe the Ibis needs to upgrade its security features, by sadly making the hotel a secure entrance only. It is not fair to visitors to feel their safety and security is threatened during their stay. If single females book your hotel, I would advise you to ALWAYS give them a room upstairs, so at least they have a modicum of safety.

The young man who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Although it was about 2.30pm the first room we were given had not been serviced and ready for us so the young man upgraded us to a larger room that was available and we really appreciated that.

We stayed in 2 different rooms within a week travelling around. First 2 nights were good. Woken up to people fighting outside the room next door at 2am but probably not something the hotel can control. Last night in a different room was quite bad. We wondered if the room had even been cleaned? Floor definitely hadn’t been, other people’s toe nails and dirt all over it. When we checked out I told the lady in reception and all she said was “eww” no apology or anything.

Sarah your receptionist was so helpful - a great asset to acccor - however we were disappointed with the state of the toilets in the dining area. Needed to be cleaned - a teaspoon in the hand basin.

I chose Ibis as I expected a certain standard however we were let down. The hotel room was very basis, run down. The linen was old. The shower tray was mouldy. The yard and gardens were poorly maintained.

Family stay so we had two rooms. Great that the staff organised us to be in rooms next door to each other. Very friendly, helpful reception staff. Great pool area. However, rooms are very tired and bathrooms both in dire need of a refresh (leaking toilet and tiles that made me wear thongs in the shower).

Restaurant was closed at 8ish and had a choice of eating at the bar or outside. Toilet door didn’t close properly. When checking out reception was closed when we got there at 7.30-8.00. Had to get someone from the restaurant area to open it so I could get my deposit. I was a chef there many years ago and it was an exciting place. Ps my name is M. not M.

The Rooms are clean and tidy There is a lack of power points available especially near bedside tables which makes charging and plugging in necessities impossible. Also when I went to check out at 0930 the reception was empty which I thought was quite unprofessional as I had to hand the keys over to a cleaner as I was in a hurry to leave. I was asked to wait 15 minutes before reception would return which I also thought was inappropriate . Also as an accord gold member I was not offerred a bottle of water (as is usual) or any other rewards

A little disappointing

Three of us stayed for four nights. First the good bits. Lovely pool and our grandson went swimming every day. Room was pretty good size, bed comfortable wifi and air cond worked well. Friendly staff at reception and on the bar for evening drinks and meals. The not good bits. The tiles in the shower reminded me of the communal showers at a caravan park and looked so bad that we actually wore thongs in the shower. Housekeeping only supplied two towels although there were three people staying in the room. The cups and glasses were not washed once by housekeeping during our stay and as there was not washing up liquid or teal towel in the room the best we could do was to rinse tem. We did a day trip to Uluru on one day and when we returned to the hotel after mid night we found our room had not neen serviced. Carpet not vaccuumed once during the stay. The toilet cistern kept leaking and toilet bowl badly stained so been happening for some time. Cooked breakfast was not the best and we observed that most people did not eat it all particularly the beans - on the other hand the evening meals were very good.
