« Super staff and down to earth facilities »

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Facilities are showing their age a bit, not surprisingly for a place of that age, but I didn't mind that. Menu was a bit limited to pub food and judging by the people staying, could have had a bit more variety.

« Disappointing and not up to Ibis standards at all »

I wanted to like this place - I am a great fan of Accor and of the Ibis brand in particular, however the place is tired, run down and in need of some major TLC. I'm also sorry to say that it looks nothing like the photos on the website (referring here to the "bar" and "restaurant area" in particular.) Obviously stock images have been used (and I see now that there is a disclaimer on the website) but the reality really is so far from what is portrayed that this really should be amended. Breakfast was dire. The coffee machine was broken so only instant was available (the machine said "check water, call technician" which in my language means fill up the water reservoir but maybe it was more complicated than this. The young lady in charge told me a technician had been called). There was not hot food buffet. The "continental" side consisted of bread for toast with jam, marmalade and peanut butter as well as fruit (melon, watermelon and canned peaches) that looked like it had been chopped the night before. I was just munching my way through my second piece of toast when the young lady in charge plonked a plate of bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans, hash brown and tomato (I think) in front of me. I said " I didn't order this" and she just said "well it's included so you have it". I said that I did not want it, thank you (I don't eat bacon or beans) and she was quite put out. Anyway - the staff on reception were very friendy and helpful although I was not asked on leaving how my stay had been.

I will speak to the breakfast team about your incident, there is sometimes a bit of a language barrier as you may of encountered.. As a platinum member you have a hot breakfast included however they should of asked you first! And yes the coffee machine is a tad more complicated and i am in the process of trying to get one that works properly from our suppliers. the water here is high in Calcium so it can be quite painful for some machines! The staff were nice. The bed and TV etc were all satisfactory. Although the bathroom is old with only a shower curtain ( no door) it was clean and basic. The exterior of the hotel is really very unattractive. We did not use the restaurant which did not appeal.

« Comfortable but a comedy of errors »

The room was very comfortable, no issues there. Had dinner in dining room with friends and my meal didn't come out until the others had finished, even with a couple of reminders. A bowl of ice cream was given to me while waiting for my meal which was a bit odd, bread would have been better. Breakfast was good but the waitress (same as dinner) wasn't clear on how it worked so a bit of confusion. The self serve coffee machine wasn't working but no sign on it so everyone who came in went to use it. Funny to watch actually. Plus the hot water ern was empty. The other coffee machine behind bar worked but she was charging for those coffees. Interesting stay.

I needed a restful place and found it at Ibis Styles Alice Springs. The staff found me a very convenient,quiet room near the admin. Office staff, bar staff and especially the breakfast host were extremely helpful. Thank you so much. The kitchen people prepared really good food. Laundry was great.

I had to ask the maid for clean towels, she didn’t remove rubbish from rooms or pull up bed. This is usually the norm when staying in motels. We were also told we had an upgrade to a beautiful room. Upgrade from what ?

« Terrible sleepless stay »

Terrible!! We had to listen to the girl in the next room "entertaining' some bloke! Walls are paper thin so we heard EVERYTHING!!!!! Then she sent him on his way and grabbed her roommate back and proceeded to tell her friend ALL about it for hours... slept for about 3 hours as a result. As for the restaurant, it wasnt open so we had to go into town to grab a takeaway.. worst stay ive EVER had anywhere and i travel frequently for work!!
