We asked to stay near the Darwin Swimming Club team however we stayed very much away from our group. This is the third time this has happened to us - very disappointing.

I've studied international hotel management and worked in some top 5 star hotels around the world. Staff generally really good, front office gave me water as Accor member which was nice. Bathrooms in rooms need upgrading urgently, old and outdated, having a shower curtain is disgusting, the rest of room has been refurbished so why not the bathrooms. Maintenance in rooms is a major issue: My A/C didn't work even though alledgedly just repaired, Lisa was nice enough to change my room and give free breakfast which was appreciated. My colleagues A/C remotes batteries were flat and couldn't change temp, had to ask for new batteries and install himself. His tap in shower also sprung/fell off, he reattached himself. His glass sliding door fell off, and I mean right off, we were left holding it and refitted, could be very dangerous if smashed as fell outwards. Curtains in room dislodged and wouldn't close properly, again had to refit properly. In my first room, toilet wasn't cleaned properly, still had left overs in it if you know what I mean, disgusting. It appears that general maintenance isn't carried out to the extent that it should be and once bathrooms are renovated and bought into the 21st century I may consider staying again as I visit Katherine each month.

Very poor standard

The room was bleak, most of the furniture and fittings were damaged and the shower room needed a complete refurb. The bed linen and curtains were heavily stained and should be binned. The staff were polite when we complained but it took two days for some improvements and to remove a used ashtray from outside the room and even then the replacement linen was stained and the room was still awful. Accor group and the management of this hotel should be ashamed.

Room was moderately clean. The A/C needs cleaning. Each time I have stayed there which is 3 times this year, the room smells like sewerage.

Forgettable. When I tried to make a booking by phone the person I was speaking to had no knowledge of the arrangements which had been made regarding those of us travelling from Darwin for the weekend. when I was unable to book in using the information given to us I referred the matter to a friend who booked in on line for me. Confusion reigned as to which room we were to be allocated when we booked in.
