Was very happy with the room and most of the reception staff. Was a bit frustrated I was charged to join some program to get free wifi when the lady at the front desk simply told me the wifi was free, I specifically asked "so no extra charges on my room at all" and she said no, later to find out I was being charged. I would have simply said no if that was the case as I have my own internet. The ladies on later that day were extremely lovely and helpful to get this resolved.

Rooms were basic - beds and linen clean. Tables and chairs on balcony area outside - filthy dirty and every room did not have own outside furniture. We did also experience some minor plumbing problems with toilet system - which were rectified the following morning.

We had a great stay at Katherine. The rooms are basic and dated but they are clean and comfortable. The service at the reception desk was great and the food in the restaurant was fantastic.

The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was nice. however walls and doors and curtains in the room was dirty, even finding snot on one of the walls. There was a dirty towel and a shower cap behind the bathroom door. Something i would expect to be spot on for the price we paid for the room.

« Extremely Disappointing »

I was greatly disappointed whilst staying with the Ibis in Katherine, I was placed in a road front room whilst heavy machinery was being operated outside, the fan in the bathroom was loud and the springs were poking through the mattress in the room, making it a very uncomfortable nights sleep. I would not stay again. I was however very happy with the service at Galloping Jacks, the food was sensational and the service was above expectation.

« Basic accomadation that was OK »

I found that the hotel had given me a room upgrade as they were busy, however I am not sure what an "average" room would look like. I liked the fact that you could park outside the room, however would have loved being able to have the opportunity to have had fresh air in the room rather than having to have the windows and doors closed. Air con didn't work, but that was OK as it wasn't too hot. Room was clean and functional.

« Disappointed with initial room but pleased with upgrade for additional cost and restaurant. »

The initial room was very basic, small, old fashioned, dark and had an unpleasant odour. Having noticed a sign indicating an upgrade was possible for $20, we approached reception to discuss. No deluxe rooms were available but the manager agreed to give us a family room for $20. The family room was spacious and light. The bathroom had been recently renovated. However we were very disappointed that ABC TV could not be viewed. The room had a number of maintenance issues and we were pleased there was a maintenance report form in the room. We completed this and submitted on checkout. An issue we did not report on was the condition of the sheets. They were obviously old and there were stains. The restaurant buffet offered a good selection of foods, many of which were gluten free which was necessary for my husband who has coeliac disease. It was a warm and friendly atmosphere which made a difference to our stay.

Stayed for two nights and found the the room to be adequate. Some things neede repairs eg broken bedside light and key to the door quite difficult at times. A hairdryer would have been welcome and an extra inside chair.

« Nice large room and great staff »

The room was large and very clean. Staff were very good at reception and the woman in the front of the restaurant was lovely, she seemed to always be there and always smiling. The restaurant food was good and the buffet was good quality and plentiful in selection.
