Stayed 1 night in twin room. Very clean room. Smaller than expected but more than suitable for the stay. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice. Would stay again

The overall experience was ok. Around 4.30 our room electricity went and as being a good customer, we thought we wait and see if the electricity will come back without us having to complain. After waiting over an hour i then decided to call the reception where no one picked up. Then around 7 my husband went down as he was going, someone came to check and saw there that it was not our fault. The manager still was accusing us. As our check out time was 12, i left at 11 and on the way spoke to the manager, by speaking to him, he was still trying to put the blame on us and was saying why didn't we call or come down. Dispite me showing him my phone history record of calling the reception. when eventually when the electricity did come back, which was at 10, he was trying accuse me of lieing, and said no it came back at 9. even though i told him there is no reason for me to lie. I didn't really approve if his behaviour dispite me trying to be a good customer. Whats more surprising is that the room didn't even have a phone. every hotel that i have ever visited always had a phone. In the end he never offered me anything expect he expects me to come back then he will see if he can offer me something

Fire drill needs serious improvements

Overall the hotel staff were polite and ready to assist in anywhich way possible right from the cleaning staff to the front desk staff. On Saturday morning we were abruptly awoken by the fire alarm on running out it was apparent that nobody knew what to do as guests run from their rooms into the corridors and stairs . I took it onto myself to request them to meet at the designated area which was by the reception. The available staff tried there best but it lacked the authority to get people moving fast to secure areas which could have had catastrophic results. Staff should be on each floor to facilitate this evacuation. Finally the highest ranking manager on the floor should liaise with the fire brigade crew and pass on the relevant information to the guests as to the next course of action. Guests started walking back to there rooms before the all clear signal was given. The free breakfast on the house was a very welcome move. Much appreciated.

The reception lady was very nice and helpful, her name was Chiara I think. She escorted me to a few rooms as some rooms the shower was broken or tap, and she gave me two fan heaters as the hotel heating was set to cold in the entire hotel. This is so annoying as I would like to be able to set the temp of my room by myself. If I was working for Ibis Accor Hotels, I would advise you spend a night at the Travel-lodge City hotel in Aldgate Middlesex Street, look at their rooms and what they offer, special beds by Sleepeezee and Hans Grohe Rain Showers expresso machines in each room and SAMSUNG digital hot or cold air conditioning, see what their standard rooms are like, and what the super rooms. Seriously, if you could make it like that hotel then I would book ibis hotels all the time.

Great location for what I needed (also above Nando’s bonus)! Clean and comfortable and a great modern design. Staff friendly and eventually helpful (with a bit of persuasion)! Only downside is trying to pay for the stay was odd. Wouldn’t accept payment online with business credit card so had to faff around with a PDF pre authorisation form. Never had this with any other hotel and only other option is to pay on arrival which is no good for anyone using compact credit cards!

Difficult check in as the advance booked room was not initially available but check in staff did find us a lovely room that met our requirements. Comfortable room superb Godminster cheese available at breakfast which was a real treat.

It was fairly central, and the entrance was clean, and presentable. Our rooms were ok, but could of been better, and for the price we paid, I think they could of included breakfast but this was extra. We did try and have an evening snack, however I think we were forgotten and when we enquired it was bought to us burnt and unappealing. But for a one night stay it was adequate.

We paid 300+ for 2 nights. The room was ridiculously hot, the windows do not open and the air con just blew out more of the same hot air. Got to the point where it made me feel unwell, had to have cold showers through the night. I informed reception, no apology or action was taken.

We had booked a room though a Buyagift voucher. Booking was made in November 2018 and the voucher expired in March 2019. Ibis accepted our original booking along with the voucher in 2018. When we arrived the reception pointed out the voucher had expired. The Manager was called and the situation explained to him. He was very professional, understanding and considerate to our situation. He acknowledged the booking had been originally accepted and said he would honour the booking. This came as a great relief to us as we had travelled a long way for a concert at the O2. Staff were very friendly and professional while we were there and made our stay a pleasant experience.

Lovely hotel, great staff, happy with that part of our stay. The street noise is relentless all night, with people, cars, emergency services. The aircon does not work so the choice was uncomfortable heat or uncomfortable noise. Either way, neither of us slept well. I'm sure a set of ear plugs would be sufficient to sort the noise out.

Completely unsatisfied with the hotel. The room 319 we stayed stank of sweat. We what’s up with no response. Had to call the reception to spray some freshener. I would have expected a room change. I am a returning silver customer. We asked to change the room the day after as extremely hot and with no chance to open the window. The smell coming from the lift disgusting. I took a picture with dirty socks left on the rail

Staying at the hotel was ok - the room is reserved wasn’t available but an alternate was found. It was clean(ish) and a decent size. The bar was really poorly stocked (no white wine). Stratford isn’t great - be really really careful and don’t use the cashpoint in Stratford centre

An OK place to stay, but local area has gone down hill

The room was OK. Beds were comfortable and shower had good pressure and was large so a good experience. The issue is that the windows do little to muffle the street noise, especially the parade of sirens we had all three nights around midnight. I didn't need to interact with the staff but the were polite and professional. The lighting in the bedroom is odd, with a large amount of safe but exposed cable. I managed to get my arm caught trying to turn the light on one morning. The design looks a little odd with the more modern feel of the room and the grommets that held the wire into the wall had no grip and pulled out with any minor touch of the cable. The whole effect felt unfinished/bodged rather than a retro design. A safe would have been nice. It would have been nice to leave gadgets in the room
