« Overall, I think this hotel was a decent value. »

We stayed two nights, and though it is a bit strange to check into a hotel where there is nobody working at the reception desk, we were satisfied with the overall cleanliness of the establishment. The rooms are small and lacking in space to put things, but they are clean and efficient. And the shower was excellent: plenty of strong hot water in a very clean stall. My one complaint is that our door did not lock easily; in fact, when we once returned to the hotel in the early evening after being out all day and after the housekeeping staff had been to our room, our door was unlocked. Fortunately, nothing had been taken from our rooms, but this could have been a big problem if someone had wanted to steal something. The following morning I did let the receptionist know about this problem; he said that he would look into this problem.

Room clean but several things broken. Shower attachment just about attached to shower wall. Divider between beds broken and wood splintered. Pillow very small and flat, very poor. Good room heater and lots of hot water.

good budget hotel, clean & comfortable, only problem is parking, very limited outside & underground carpark very difficult to get into, some road noise, but convenient to airport & easy access to Nice & surrounding area

Great Budget Hotel, Very helpful staff, parking was difficult out side the hotel, Paid parking available at a cost of €5.00 a day limited to 1.85m height, cars with roof box unable to use, Receptionist English extremely limited, but we manage to communicate. Air conditioner not working properly, very very low output. (not enough to the room) , cleaners are doing an excellent work. Toilets are in need of modernisation. Reception close at around 10.00pm. Their is a restaurant just in front , Bus stop just out side. Vending machine in the lobby with limited choice also a coffee machine , coffee could be better. No good restaurants are nearby, some basic request that we made including two extra pillows due to disability hotel not able provide they said they can only provide one.

Extremely rude staff, my room that I was given wasn't cleaned from the previous visitor when I got there, there were no sheets on the bed, no signal on the tv channels, the walls were so thin that I could here the next person having a wee, when I brought up my problems to reception, I just got an "okay, bye" with no help. I love ibis but this was disgraceful and appalling

« Over charged for my bookings »

I've booked the above hotel for my trip to Nice. During my trip, there are two rooms I've booked in total. One is from 25/07 to 29/07 and the other one is from 26/07 to 29/07. As I've booked them in advance and left my wife's credit card details. Both payments for these two rooms have been taken already on 11/06 (£215.12) and 25/07(£188.74). However on 28/07, there is another charge of £65.48 has been taken by the hotel from my wife's credit card again. I'm really confused about this charge. As both of the rooms have been paid already, and we haven't ordered any food or drink in the hotel. I don't understand what is this payment for at all. Being a loyal customer with ibis, I've always booked ibis hotel for my trips. The experiences in the past was always good, but this time was really disappointing. Not only we've been charged £65.48 for nothing, but also we been charged for non-sterling transaction for the two payments we've made for our room bookings without being informed. The whole process this time from this ibis hotel just let me down completely.

I always enjoy staying at Ibis hotels because you get what you need: comfortable beds, nice bathroom and most of all clean rooms. Entering and checking-in via code is great because you don't need to worry if you arrive at the hotel later than expected.

OK except be aware that if u arrive late the hotel is unmanned. That means u can't get into the car park which is a problem.

Your reception staff were not there when needed and when they were, I was treated appallingly by a male member of staff. I will be taking this matter further. I checked in on Thursday 25th and as far as I was aware had paid for my stay on arrival. On Friday 26th I was out all day working and came back at 3:30am to discover I couldn't get in my room. I had been locked out. My friends were also staying in the hotel so I had been able to get in the main door. I went to reception but no one there. I read a small sign behind the desk, while I was looking for a contact number, that said people have to validate their booking every day otherwise the room will be free to rent from 12 noon, belongings will be removed and kept at reception. I was shocked! I have never experienced this system anywhere I have stayed and was not made aware of it on arrival. As far as I was aware I had paid for my 2 night stay as booked. A man (reception staff) appeared from nowhere complaining about me getting him out of bed. He was talking few English words and the rest in French. I explained that I had been locked out of my room and he was very unhelpful and angry. He said I'd only paid for 1 night and so my room was locked. I tried to explain I had paid on automated check in on arrival and I had booked 2 nights so had paid for 2 nights. He didn't want to listen, kept saying I didn't understand and was speaking to me in French. He got aggressive in his manner and argumentative. I said I understood what he was saying but didn't agree with what had happened. I booked for 2 nights and expected to pay for 2 nights, so why had I only been charged for 1 night and locked out. I asked why I hadn't just been told about this system and asked to pay for my other night. He gave me a new access code and was still shouting when I left for my room. I have never experienced anything like it, totally unprofessional, rude and unnecessary. The next morning, our leaving day, my friends and I went to reception. The same man was there, saw us but left us waiting for 5 minutes while he was talking to his friend in the breakfast area. We requested a later check out time as my friends had already stated online. He ignored us and gave me print outs of my payment instead, determined to prove I had only paid for 1 night. I said maybe I have but the point is I'm not refusing to pay, so why didn't Ibis take payment for what I booked or make me aware? He again didn't want to listen and refused us a later check out time. Our flight was at 5:30pm and check out was 12 noon. We asked if there was somewhere we could leave our cases, again he said no. It said when we booked that both of these options would be available. Then he started arguing again about my payment. I said 'this is stupid' and he shouted 'you're calling me stupid?' Then ordered me to get out! It is unbelievable and not behaviour I would expect when I am a guest. It ruined our day too. We were unable to leave our heavy cases at the airport too because it was full there. So we had to carry them everywhere and decided just to stay around the airport because of that. We had booked later flights to make the most of our last day in Nice and visit Monaco but that ended up not being possible. This is not behaviour I expect when I am paying to stay somewhere, budget or not, and not how you want your staff to behave I imagine! I will not be letting this go. I intend to write on Trip Advisor, booking.com and to a higher authority if I have to. This is not acceptable. Also, a member of hotel staff working in a multinational city such as Nice for a well known chain of hotels and a hotel near an airport should be able to speak English. I suspect it was a selective lack of understanding! He was ignorant, aggressive and shouldn't be representing your company.

« Perfect stay when you are going to a show nearby or any other reason when you need cheap accommodation »

Very nice and welcoming staff. Clean, easy and simple place that gives you everything for the price. Perfect accomodation after a show at the Palais Nikaia. Minus was lack of parking place, there are a few around but don't count on it when there is a show. And by may 12th 2017 the whole surroundings were under construction of a new tramway line with chaotic infrastructures. Everything will probably be perfect when it's finished in one year.

The hotel was very clean, our room was spotless and the staff were great. The aircon in our room did not work very well so we had the window open which was very noisy. Breakfast was good value for money. The website said free parking but we had to pay €5 - no problem but would have liked the to know in advance.
