I had difficulty getting onto your web site in order to check in prior to my arrival. On my arrival in response to a question from me it was suggested that I approach the dining room staff. On talking to the dining room staff I was informed that there was a buffet dinner, but when I arrived for my dinner I was informed that there was no buffet meal. I checked the regular menu and chose a steak meal and asked if there were potatoes with the meal, was informed that there were no potatoes on the menu that evening. This was not satisfactory for me so I decided to go down the street and have an Asian meal which was acceptable. After the meal I got lost on my way back to the hotel but was very, very lucky that on requesting where the hotel was a lady out walking her dog showed me the way back and after walking many miles she put her dog in and then drove me to the hotel. I missed out on my complementary drink but the young lady at checkout went into the office and made no charge for my breakfast. I thanked her very much for her help.

We stayed one night on our way to the airport. Couldn't believe how attentive f/o and the f/b staff were. Absolutely incredible. Your hotel was let down by your lacklustre buffet. Coming from Rotorua we've been spoilt with the Novotel there and their amazing food quality. Your meats were all dried up and we arrived just after the restaurant opened, the seafood selection was severely lacking -we had to ask for oysters and then only a half dozen were put out- but in saying this, the sushi and dumplings were amazing! I've also never had mint sorbet and it was a perfect ending to a meal.

We (husband and 4 year old son) arrived at the hotel quite early at 8am of Friday, 8th March 2019. Knowing that check-in time starts at 2 pm, we decided to go somewhere else. We were greeted by a friendly concierge staff (Dallin) upon arrival who took on our belongings to be stored first so we can easily roam around Auckland. Before we left the hotel, the concierge asked us if we want to check if there is already a room available. I was attended to by Scott who confirmed that not a single room is ready and that we need to be back later that day. Knowing that I am an Accor member when he checked my booking, he could have advised me to check online before 12 noon to guarantee that I have a room once I'm back later that day. We went and had lunch at Sylvia Park Mall and came back to the hotel at 1:30 pm. It was still Scott who was manning the reception so I asked him if there is already a room ready for us. He checked his computer for a few seconds and confirmed that the room is still dirty and that we have to wait till 2pm. My 4 year old son was just sleeping in the couch since he was too tired. A few seconds after, a very friendly lady (Nina) approached us and was so concerned if my son was okay and if we needed help with him. My husband replied that he was just too tired from being up early and that we are still waiting for our room to be ready. I saw Nina's face fill with concern and she asked me how long have I been waiting for a room. I told her about our plight that day and how we were there at 8am and was asked to come back. She asked again if I was already done with the paperwork required for check-in and I said no. "Well, let's try and get you a room as soon as possible" she said and that gave me a lot of hope. She patiently helped me through the process and asked me to sign a form to confirm details of our stay. All this time, Scott was just there in the counter, without a care in the world as if he never saw me earlier. Not even relaying information to Nina about my hotel booking which he already dealt with twice. In less than a minute, she managed to get us a room, arrange for our belongings to be sent to us and offered us complimentary drinks through the Accor membership. I was really thankful for Nina's service which is above and beyond my expectations and on the other side very disappointed at Scott's lack of concern about us waiting in front of him at the lobby. I don't think he is fit for a customer service role. If it was only me waiting for a room that day, I wouldn't even try to write a review about our stay. But my family was with me and of course I wanted them to enjoy and feel that we made a good choice sticking with an Accor hotel. I have been with Accor for 8 years and this is the first time I was told to wait till 2 pm to get a room. Usually, if I come in early at the hotel, they will try to get the paperwork done asap and also reserve a room for you so you won't have to wait that long once you're back to check-in. As it turns out, Scott was the hotel manager so I'm really surprised to experience such demeanor and indifference coming from someone of his position. I won't expect anything out of this review since I know it will be Scott who will try to do damage control and reply this feedback as soon as I post it. Lastly, I would really like to extend my compliments to Nina for managing this crisis with patience. She is an asset to the company and you can really feel she enjoys her job and she does it very well. Meeting her and Dallin was the highlight of our stay in Novotel Ellerslie.

Check in was fine,but key card did not open door so I had to return to the main desk with my suitcase to get it reprogrammed. Again it did not work, but after many attempts and turning it upside down the door unlocked. A waste of at least 15 minutes.

« My business partner and I have stayed at the hotel now four times now and have found every access of the hotel to be a vey high standard especially the friendly staff. »

We found the experience once again a lovely one, we always look forward to the Saturday night buffet which is amazing, but there could be an improvement in the overall menu other nights. Apart from that we are very happy with everything, all the staff are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. We would recommend the Novotel Ellerslie to all our friends and colleagues.

This was a last minute booking due to a flight cancellation and was very expensive. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful. The bar staff were also lovely. The room however was pretty dated. There was no chance of a good nights sleep with the air con clunking. Didn’t seem to matter what we did the sound would not go away.

Room was clean and comfortable and I made use of the gym amenities. Breakfasts were fine too. Unfortunately I slept appallingly every night I was there as there wasn't a pillow firm enough to offer support and ended up with a constant headache which lasted the whole trip.
