We would like to mention your concierge Si'i for the professional, helpful, friendly and efficient way she goes about her job. Reception, cleanliness and comfort met our needs well (nice sheets). Our room and bathroom needs refurbishing, the décor is not retro, just drab. The information folder was dog-eared. The bathroom door swings open unless latched, the bathroom grout appears grubby and the soapholder had peeling varnish. Not chic, just shabby. However, Acacia restaurant was disappointing. we dined at 7pm and chose the buffet. The ham was overcooked and dry. The seafood mornay appeared identical to the seafood chowder. We assumed the steak was cooked to order, but there was no signage, or person, at this station to assist. The only bread available was dried out ciabatta. Crockery, glasses, cups etc were not clearly adjacent to related stations, or kept stocked up, (at both breakfast and dinner we noted guests asking other guests where to find things as the buffet was not set up in a way that flowed logically). Dishes appreared overcook or needed tidying/replenishing eg the cheese and crackers were not an option as there were only crumbs left. There was opportunity for cross contamination as serving spoons, when available, were used for different dishes. The kitchen seemed disorganized. We were given a glass of water on being seated, but had to request a top up although waitstaff had been to our table at lease 3 times. The waitstaff appeared to lack basic training. We have both eaten at Acacia before, and know the standard of food and service this restaurant is capable of. Our experience this time was, at best, 3 star. Stayed a total of 35 nights recently. Staff friendly, room was great, location, parking would love to live with you fulltime. Would of thought a free buffet or meal voucher would of been a nice touch. Was given 2 drink vouchers which we didn't use. Other hotels are offering food credits

« Great except the disability room bathroom »

We had a great stay except the disability bathroom in our room. My husband is in a wheelchair and can not transfer on to the toilet. So his commode chair would not fit over the toilet. So unfortunately he had to go to the toilet in a bucket in the shower area which is not nice for him, our your house keeping staff. Also found that the shower head hose was not long enough to reach someone in a wheelchair which makes cleaning a lot harder. If in future you renovate these rooms you need to look at the best set up for someone in a wheelchair not just a disability. We would be more than happy to help, as it is not until you are in this situation that you realise what works best.

Check-in and out staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Restaurant staff were amazing and the food was fantastic, no complaints there at all. My room was very comfy and clean. The coffee I had from the bar was excellent, especially the one on my last day, which was perfect.

The stay was very pleasant and the Reception Staff most helpful and good to deal with. An unfortunate discovery when we got home was a minor scratch on the rear left of our car which I cannot guarantee but suspect happened when car was being or was parked at the Hotel. A Staff member parked the car for us on the second night and brought it to the entrance next morning.

We have no complaints about the room itself, but the service, or lack of service in the restaurant was miserable. We had booked a table for the A La Carte. After approx 30 mins we had to ask for a menu, then another 30 mintues went by when we had to ask if we could actually order a meal. We had to ask for water for the table. The basics were neglected. When ordering my meal in particular, i asked if it cane with a salad and was told it did. I got my meal without a salad. Then as i was finishing, they brought my salad.. too late. And i got charged extar after being told the saled came with my order. Another person at the table had the same treatment with their meal. The veges came out after we had all finished. We stayed for 4 nights, and it would have been a ragular thing, but that service put an end ot that
