Handy for shops, cafes and ferries

The accommodation was good and very handy for the TSB WOW festival, brunch cafes and evening meals. A 3 minute walk took us to the East-West ferry to Home Bay. There plenty of buses in the area and taxis outside the hotel.

Housekeeping of room was not done till after 4pm. When in the resturant for dinner the waiter had trouble opening a bottle of wine he went out the back to try and came back with a broken bottle and continue to pour from it. Not a good think to do.

The room was kept clean. I would suggest bathrobes for cold season as visitors from the tropics may need it after a bath as some may not be able to stand the cold. I had no issues myself but other visitors from the tropics may not be able to withstand cold like I can. Also, if the menu could be pork-free would be much appreciated by Muslim and Jew travellers.

I enjoyed the clean and spacious room. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast as I love eggs but the ways the egged were cooked was not appealing to me.

Our room was ok (I don’t think it was worth the price we paid but all hotels put prices up when there’s an event in town) however, my experience at check in left me fuming! I booked via booking.com for one price was then told a different price at check in. When I showed the girl my booking confirmation which clearly showed the lower price I was told I would have to pay the hotels higher price and then contact booking.com myself to try and get a refund of the difference! I don’t know quite what the arrangements between 3rd party agents and the providers are but surely the price I had been quoted should have been honoured on the spot. I made it very clear I was not happy with the situation so when I came back into the foyer with my bags, I was called back to the desk and asked to email my booking.com confirmation (which I did on the spot). I was then told at checkout that I had been refunded the difference but more than a week has passed and it appears this is not the case. Needless to say, I won’t be staying with IBIS again.

Arrival friendly, to early to check in but offered bag storage & nearby coffee options to go explore the city. Perfect! I'd requested a quiet room & when I did check in I hot just that! A corner room away from the lift am with dual windows for heaps of light. Perfect! Only on departure when asking about a shuttle was I slightly misinformed by reception who said it's $15 so I asked him to book it. However on returning from dinner yo reconfirm the bus time was then told there is a $2.50 call booking fee so my total price is $17.50. In the large picture, not a big deal unless budgeting travel money do so! Would hav ed been better to be told t he correct price at the first enquiry. However the service overall was excellent.

Generally everything was comfortable. I find the smaller dinner options quite limited and expensive. Also the internet this trip kept dropping me out which made it difficult for me to work when needed. Staff are pleasant and helpful and the room sufficiently comfortable for short stays.

It was okay. Was disappointed to learn we had to store car offsite, then when we wanted to get into the parking for a bay we had waited for, I buzzed the reception was answered cleared but the door was not opened. We waited and after 10mins and more buzzing which was not replied to, I sent my daughter around to the reception to find out what was going on. She again had to identify herself then I was finally let in. It is difficult to be sitting in your driver way on a one way street. Especially when other cars wish to exit the car park.
