Stayed for 2 nights this month. Accommodation was very clean, good TV reception, WiFi was very slow though - hardly usable so used my own data. Rooms are not totally soundproof and there was some shower noise from room next door at times. Buffet breakfast not over the top but everything there fresh, enjoyable and was re filled often. Great location - very handy to the wharf, shopping and Te Papa. Basement car parking was very convenient ($30 extra per night) only negative was getting reception staffs attention to be buzzed in, after a lengthy wait left the car parked in the entrance and walked around the corner to reception to get their attention. Good value for money compared to other hotels in the area. Would stay again

« Very average and so expensive. »

The good thing about this hotel is its location but nothing else. It was so expensive but was very average. If the room was less than half the price you would think it was ok but at $409.00 a night you would think you would have a nice room. The reception never asked us if we where happy or did we need anything. There was one wine glass in the room and as we where a couple one had to drink out of a tumbler. I will never stay there again.

« Good location but tiny shower room and breakfast is average with no cappuccino machine »

Check in late, almost like mid-night and the room assigned was on 2nd floor, which is not what I have requested. There are plenty of older guests who would appreciate lower floor but the concierge person used the classic line of fully booked excuse not to change my room unless I am willingly to change it next day afternoon. I was expecting my request would be given priority as I have booked 2 months in advanced. Disappointing. Next, the room is very spacious for a King Size bed room, but the shower room is very tiny. I can barely turn around for a young skinny guy like me. Don't think it will fit anyone fatter than me. Bad design. Lastly the breakfast was just average, they don't even have a proper coffee machine for cappuccino or latte, unless guests are willing to pay extra $3.50! Unbelievable. Some of the apples appeared to be compressed with marks and they don't seem to care. I can tell the kitchen is under-staff, always busy bringing food and cleaning. Wifi is working fine.

Front desk couldn't be more helpful, excellent location between Station, The Quay, tourist attractions and easy distance to Te Aro. Adjacent to frequent buses that are easily negotiated to outter suburbs, and short walk to supermarkets, pharmacies, as well as waterside restaurants. Excellent value. Stayed at a competitor nearby recently and was nowhere near as happy and they charged twice the price. Don't be fooled that as an "Ibis" it is a budget motel as it can be in other countries. Much higher standard.

Clean and comfortable room with good en-suite shower facilities. Slight issue was a noisy fridge particularly in the night. Lovely breakfast with a good range of food and drink available. A great place to stay for visiting various attractions in central Wellington. Highly recommended.

Front Desk people were good. Rooms were average. Lobby smelled like vomit the second day. No parking, had fend on the street. all in all not a good experience. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

« Good location but could look out for customers much better »

We arrived in the afternoon and were told that the car park was full, so we needed to go and find our own parking. Having dropped the luggage with our daughter (who sat in the lobby), we went and parked the car. Returned and checked in and was told that the 'included breakfast' was cancelled. I showed the paperwork and the helpful reception guy went to the manager and showed this but was told by the manager that they needed to see the email voucher. Usually at this point most good hotel managers prioritise the guests comfort and then arrange for any further checks. We were still in the lobby with all our luggage and it was beyond 30 mins! I had to bring up my bookings and e-vouchers and allow the Receptionist to take pictures and email people. It did get sorted ultimately but the overall experience for me and my family was poor. The receptionist was helpful but the manager should have stepped in much earlier and sorted things as is my experience in most good hotels.

Definitely need new chef buffet breakfast tired bacon burnt limited coffee. Evening meal a disaster ordered med rare steak got very well done they did replace it but it was also well done chips cold. Room very basic and overpriced for what it was
