stay was good. bed was really comfy bathroom was clean. staff were really nice besodes the lady in the kitchen making the croissants. spoke to me really rudely. all i asked was if the croissants were ready and she barked at me "i cant make them cook any faster, u jz have to wait"!!!!. all i wanted was a yes or no answer!!! other than that it was a good stay . would definatly recomend. good location.

« Comfy bed! Great time at this hotel. »

Everything was great during our stay. Even though during our check in we ask to add the breakfast to our room bill we were harassed every morning. We will give the employer our room number he will be okay, then a few seconds later while I'm getting food we will get approach... Again to ask for the room number and for some odd reason the breakfast was not listed there. This happened for the 3 mornings we were there. So annoying!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a couple days. It’s a easy commute to get into the main city centre, either by walking or the metro. We meet a very helpful guy who was working on reception one of the nights. He gave us a map of Amsterdam and suggested the best attractions to see. The food was nice and the bedroom was clean. Would definitely recommemd and come back here again.

Too hot room, though AC adjusted at 5C. Opening the window created noise. Pillow was like a balloon, I prefer a small one. Clean and nice room, bathroom big enough. Service by personnel was excellent.

Started badly due to an issue with booking.com ended up paying more and then tax upon arrival. Asked for a card and or gift to be added to the room for my partners birthday - wasn’t there. Room was small and dark with no facilities like tea and coffee. Poor quality sleep due to flimsy and thin doors and walls which means you can hear every door opening and closing in the corridor and the walls literally shake when they are shut. Distance to places was good however

Concierge was amazingly welcoming and helpful - gave us great tips on where to eat and what to see on our layover. Unfortunately the room itself was dirty. Hair in the shower, a layer of crud in the sink that I had to wipe off and a large very sticky area of the floor near the bed - like someone had spilled soda and it had dried. My feet literally stuck to the floor. It was gross.

« Basic for such a high price & ok location »

Hotel was slightly further away from main centre as I anticipated. Room was clean but basic. Breakfast choice was excellent but very chaotic & not well set out as no space to put your tray anywhere whilst choosing food & putting it on your plate! Some tables too close to food area made it difficult to move freely- would be wise to lose some space from main reception to make more space in restaurant area! Nice touch with balloon, gift & free drinks for my birthday!

The location is slightly outside 'The Dam' where we usually stay, but this quieter location was still within easy walking distance to all of the sights. The local bars and restaurants around there were full of local dutch people rather than backpackers and general holidaymakers. The hotel was very chic, clean and modern and the staff were extremely friendly. I'd definitely use the hotel again.

Check in was smooth enough on the Saturday we arrived or so I thought until we went to check out early Tuesday morning at c. 7am and were advised that we were not charged the full amount when checking in despite being under the impression that we had paid in full on check in, apparently the person who checked us in made a mistake and we were not informed of this until we checked out early on Tuesday morning, I would have thought that someone would have made contact with us during our stay to advise of this and to be informed of this on check out was not very satisfactory as this should have been dealt with on check in as I thought it was. I thought that the way that this was handled was not very professional and I was very disappointed with it. I did not have the receipt from my credit card payment therefore I wasnt 100% sure of the position and felt under pressure to make the payment by your staff member and had to take their word for it in order to check out, another couple was checking out at the same time and were not subjected to the same checks that we were therefore I am under the impression that the staff member was watching out for us, as previously noted we were under the impression that we had paid in full, we were on a city break to relax and were not looking back at receipts or trying to be underhand in any way and it was the staff member on check in that made the error. I did not like how this was handled. In the room there was an intermittent smell from the bathroom like a sewage type smell, it came and went over the stay particularly at night time and very much so the last night of our stay, in hindsight I should have reported this earlier and made an issue of it however I would very much doubt that this was an isolated incident (we were on the 7th Floor). I mentioned this at check out and was advised that it would be looked into and that there had been some works ongoing outside, again I was not happy with how this was handled when I reported on check out and felt that your staff member just wanted me to pay the bill and again I should have made a bigger issue of this however the issue was not always present and again I find it hard to believe that this was an isolated incident. These 2 events and how they were handled were very disappointing and to be honest I will not be staying in this hotel nor any other connected hotel based on my experience, nor would I recommend this hotel to family and friends. I would love to know if any of your other hotel guests or guests who stayed in room 723 experienced the issue with the smell from the bathroom or how many other guests were not charged in full on check in despite being under the impression they did. I do not expect to get any satisfaction from this but felt the need to give the feedback.

Dear Anna Maria W., First of all, my sincere apologies for your inconviences from both the smell as well as the 'surprise' payment on check out. At Ibis, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. I have looked into the matter and what happened is, my colleague was meant to charge 478,80 but made a mistake in typing which led to a payment of 418,80. This is why my other colleague asked for a payment of the difference of 60 euros on check out. I do agree with you that this should have been dealt with during your stay and therefor again my sincere apologies. Please always notify us of any issues, in this case the smell, as we are able than to find a solution right away. In this case we could have offered you a different room.
