Checkin is not efficient and labour intensive. It is bad for both hotel operator and the guests. The hotel has to find a way to improve the checkin process. For my case, i am the member of Accor and all of my personal information is pre-entered in the hotel system. However, i have spent over 15 minutes in the whole process. This led to the unnecessary queue waiting for checkin as well.

Nicely greeted at reception and given instructions on card usage (lift and room), proceeded to very comfortable room (wonderful shower pressure), a very quiet night, and then a delicious breakfast. On booking out we were treated in the same friendly and courteous manner. A very good experience. The only hiccup was that one lift was out of order the following morning creating a bottleneck on the landing. A staff member quickly opened the "fire stairs" which allowed us to get to the 1st floor from the 6th; unfortunately I was in Melbourne to visit a Specialist in regard to my painful hip, so the 5 fights of stairs was quite a task.

I booked the Mercure because it was close to my office and in a central location. I chose the Superior room with 2 single beds as the image on the website showed a much nicer room than the Standard. However, when I showed up the room looked completely different to what I expected. The furniture was old and worn, the bathroom was cramped and the thermostat didn't work very well. I had to double check downstairs if they had actually put us in a standard. Another problem we had was that the housekeeping cart was parked directly outside our door every day making it hard for us to get out. The redeeming part however, was that all but one staff were extremely nice and welcoming.

I refer to the bathroom facilities in my above statement. The paint is peeling because there isnt an exhaust fan. There is nowhere to place clothes and bathroom necessities. It was very small and cramped. The mirror in the bedroom was not near a power point so I could not blow dry my hair easily while my daughter showered. These are simple design issues. The staff however, were wonderful and always ready to assist - they would receive a 10 rating.

The check in was no good. Online I selected a check in after 12:00, when I arrived at 12:32 I was told that the room was not available. We stowed our bags at the bag store and returned 2 hours later. After we arrived the queue was enormous. The staff said it was due to slow IT systems. There was dust everywhere in our room. My partner told me her alergies were acting up. My shirt and jumper fell behind the desk, when I retrieved these item they were covered in dust. This was a 10 PM and my partner, not wanting to make a fuss did not want me to call reception as we were tired. When we checked out I raised these issues and asked for a partial refund. Diego Rios (assistant front desk manager) informed me that because I had prepaid online through the Accor website that he was unable to do anything except offer a better deal and better service on our next visit. Overall I'm not satisfied with the stay for the above reasons. I would expect that prepayment is a sign of good faith, so not being refunded in any way shows bad faith on the part of Accor.

I am aware that it was 10PM when you noticed about dust but We have a Duty Manager in the hotel 24 hours a day whose primary purpose is to ensure that our guests are satisfied and that any of the small irritations they may experience are resolved. And especially since you stayed with us for 2 nights. Rest assured that I have passed on your concern to our Executive Housekeeper, whom in turn has spoken with the relevant team member to ensure the incident remains isolated. The offer from Diego is still stand and would like to offer you a complimentary upgrade to one of our Superior Rooms. Our experience was good. Check in and check out were quick and easy. The room was cosy and it was really nice that we were able to help ourselves to tea, coffee and biscuits. The only thing that we found was a slight problem was that the shower was constantly changing temperature, it made for an unpleasant shower experience but it was a bearable change in temperature.

This hotel is in a wonderful location, however we would go elsewhere due to the size and quality of the rooms. Check in staff could not be faulted. We were kindly upgraded to a king bed. When we saw the room we wondered what on earth the original room would have been like as we could barely squeeze the two of us into the bathroom to clean our teeth. We are by no means large people !!!! This booking was part of a show package so we had no choice on where we stayed. Sadly, due to the sparcity, facilities and size of the rooms, we would unlikely visit again

Staff were friendly and helpful. Having to drag cases up to level 1 was inconvenient. Foyer are is cramped and crowded and not pleasant if you need to sit and wait. I paid for an upgrade and my room was comfortable, but spoke to others in regular rooms and they were not happy. Hallways are extremely narrow. Great location

Room clean. TV screen had hole in it. Breakfast was a shambles. People stealing tables. When busy should be shown to tables and mark table with something to show taken. Due to being busy staff slow to clear tables. Hot water in shower was unstable. Burnt myself when shower went hot.

Stay was pleasant. Check in was not great. The hotel staff who was serving me had to keep helping his colleague which meant that I was waiting for them to serve another customer whilst they were serving me. The better approach would have been to finish serving me before helping his colleague. I was also unimpressed by the service when leaving. We’d arrived at the hotel to collect our luggage. The luggage room was unattended so we went downstairs and asked for an attendant to retrieve our luggage. We waited for 15 minutes, no one showed. I had to go downstairs a second time to ask for an attendant to contact upstairs.
