We stayed 3 nights and we found the hotel to be a really good value for the money. Location and staff were excellent. We found a weekend promotion with breakfast included and it was great, wide variety and good quality buffet. And we also got a $50 voucher to use for meals or drinks throughout the hotel. Rooms painting and hallways can be improved. But the important things like the Bed and ensuite were great, super clean and comfortable. We had a dinner in the bar one night and it was good as well. Cons - The click of the lock on the rooms doors are very noisy. Everytime someone closed their door in the hallways the metallic click of the door it could even wake you up. I guess it should be a solution for that. Overall experience was very good, we would be back. Note - Better deals booking directly with the hotel and not using third-party sites

We always have a satisfactory stay. Our only disappointment is the menu at the Lowden Room restaurant. We have been coming to stay once a month now for many years. The menu is very average for a dinner meal. No pasta dishes at all and a specials board they used to have is no longer available. When it does change it’s only tweaked with minor changes. We have noticed the only vegetable they seem to have is broccoli and more broccoli. No variation at all.

Front of house staff Member Blake was extremely helpful as was the duty Manager (whose name escapes me). I'd had a nasty experience during my previous stay, being lumbered with a $50.00 charge on my credit card - previously it was only $1.00. There was no warning of the increase & I object strongly to such a charge. Even though the funds are returned to the card after several business days, interest charges are incurred if a cardholder does not have a zero balance on their credit card at the time of such a charge. It was explained to me that this charge is to counteract fraud experiences often incurred by the hotel. However, one would have thought that some element of trust would have been established, when a guest has stayed at the Hotel on previous occasions. This left very nasty feelings on the previous occasion yet this was not referred to in any way & was much appreciated.

« Room was exactly what we needed for our 4 day stay. »

Smooth.! No hassles. A safe for valuables would be good. Hotel has luggage storage after checkout. Taxi rank outside Little Bourke Street Exit. Security access to Hotel and lifts. Note If lift stops at floor 1 you have to put your room access card into the slot provided and then remove and select the floor your room is on. Staff must make sure you fully understand this procedure for your security. Close to China town. Hotel dining is excellent. (February 2018)

The room was OK but long stale corridor to get to the end .. 1027 The location is good and I walked to theatres. I didn't use either of my free drinks in the bar .. as it did not look very inviting from the foyer

« just until i ate there'd got food poisoning »

Stayed at the hotel with my sister and ate at your restaurant and had fish..Became very ill spent the next day in bed vomitting. Had to cancel my flight home to QLD and rebook another night at the hotel as well as the airfares.Got no help from any of the rude staff My sister asked next day what fish they served at the restaurant and was told "no idea" The staff could not give a stuff and nknowing I was ill , yet not person from the hotel even bothered even to checked whether I was alive Or dead knowing full well I was ill from that resataurant. They were only interested in charging me for another nights accomodation and then it was like they were doing me a favour More frustrating is that I am a PLATIUM member of Accor and unfortunately just renewed my membership just before I went to melbourne,. If this is how you treat your platinum members , then I wonder how you treat every one else? I will guarantee I will be moving to another hotel group after this as I have numerous problems with Accor within Australia yet not any problems overseas where I find them perfect TRUDY D. « Our two night stay was very comfortable - the room was a little small but very comfortable. »

Your hotel is in a very central part of the city of Melbourne which we loved as we were able to easily get around and not get too lost. We loved the trams (we don't have them yet in Sydney) and the convenience of them. Our room was small but comfortable and the breakfast each morning was excellent. The people in your Reception area were so helpful and your Consierge was absolutely brilliant. I would definitely consider staying at your hotel the next time I visit Melbourne.
