« A central location, friendly helpful staff, clean rooms. »

Overall I had a lovely stay. Staff were helpful and friendly. There were 3 things that i would like to mention which i believe could have improved my stay - 1) the bathtub needed resurfacing. I don't believe it was dirty, but it looked it. 2) My friend arrived after me, parked her car and then, without any contact with me - given a card to our room. I had not provided her details on check in - and think this could have been a security breach/safety issue. 3) when we checked out - there was no clear process for lining up and lots of people were pushing in. Then when we went to leave our bags the room was unattended and there were many people in line waiting with us - some to leave bags and some to collect their bags - and had flights to catch.

The hotel location is very well appointed and close to shops, malls and public transport. I would recommend it especially for the tourists who would like to be immersed in the hustle and bustle of Melbourne city life.

« Below the standard I was expecting for a Mercure Hotel. »

Location was perfect. There were no drawers in the room and we were required to live out of a suitcase for 4 days. We thought this was an error and inquired, only to be told that this was correct. The room was dated in style but the beds were perfect. The water pressure was low in the shower. Daily housekeeping was ordinary as beds were not made to the standard expected. The pool area was small and way too hot with a glass roof.

All aspects of our stay were very good: booked direct with the hotel, check-in process was quick and smooth by friendly, efficient staff. Our room was very good ( shower over bath a challenge!) As we travelled to city by train the hotel's location was excellent.

Checked in, staff great. Then found ac kept going on and off in 15 second intervals. Consequently room was hot and we didn’t get a great nights sleep. Then some people tried to enter the room before we had booked out.

I have been staying at this hotel regularly and even though it was only an overnight stay, it was not a hard decision. The hotel is familiar to me it’s location is perfect makes life a lot easier for me.

« Great staff, very nice decor, TV difficult to use, bed hard. »

Overall we were happy, particularly with the staff. Location was great. The only things that let you down were the TV - difficult to use and no sub-titles - and the bed was far too hard. It also converns me that I inadvertently left some prescription drugs in the room fridge and I haven't heard from you about that. Either nobody has cleaned the fridge, somebody thought they might be saleable (they aren't) or you don't have a concern that they might be important (they were!))

I booked 3 twin rooms for 6 people for 3 nights and one roll out bed for one guest for two nights (she arrived a day later than the rest of us) We had hoped to be on the same floor but one room was on the 11th whilst two others were on the 3rd . It seemed problematic in paying the bill and I spent over 30 mins checking out over two days with the staff trying to combine the rooms and coming up with problems The roll out bed was booked in the original booking and on counting the amount of times we requested it - it took 6 requests with it finally arriving at 11.40 at night ( we were waiting to go to bed) the manager on duty did apologise but this really wasn t satisfactory The rooms were comfortable and quiet and beds comfy
