« Disgusting room »

Broken tiles in the bathroom,carpet needs replacing,hot water was by far too hot,we paid for 5 breakfast and only had 4 ( we paid for the first day because we were early and didn’t have a room number,and the last day we left early before breakfast,we discussed this with front office but they would not compensate for the one we paid for)

« Good location, price and freindly »

Its was OK, I have stayed at this location several times and its been great. They are upgrading the rooms to make it into a Pullman, trades started chipping on tiles in a bathroom close to my room at 730am (do not know if management new this), then the jack hammer started at 9am till 4pm. As I was staying for work it was not a major problem (if on holidays I would have ben pretty upset) but it would have been nice if I had known. Staff are really good, friendly and when asked happy to update me on the renovations progress. Generally this is a geat place to stay.

« The location of the hotel is great, customer service is great »

I like staying in this hotel for its location. I have stayed here several times in last couple of months and have noticed a difference in the rooms ....some are a lot smaller with less internet service, and are not as nice as the larger rooms . I think that the rooms are comfortable but are a bit tired and could do with an upgrade. The Tv remote is annoying because you have to scroll through every channel to get to program you want

The only hotel I have stayed in (a Gold Frequent Flyer) anywhere in the world in the last year where the wifi doesn't turn on like a tap or the lights. Extremely odd.

« Noisy »

Noise in the room was ridiculous. My room was next to the gym, so was working ken by running machines at 7am most days. I switched off the mini bar fridge and it would wake me up during the night, it felt like every pipe in the room was routed through my room. Constant water running and banging noises. The shower needs replacing, cracks in the joints meant water squirted off in all directions.

The valet parking staff are the best thing about this hotel. The rest of the staff are a bit of hit or miss. Some are fantastic, know what they need to do and how to deal with any issues, others are not so great (training!).

it was good to have a light over a desk for me to use for my contact lens so I dont lose them. Having a drawer for undies and a wardrobe to hang clothes in good. Think it would be a good idea for a hand sanitiser at entry to dining room, especially as there are airline crew eat here who have contact with many nationalities on their flights as well as people who pick up bread etc in their fingers and not use tongs. Our room was a good size.

« We enjoyed our stay in the Swanston Hotel Melbourne Grand Mercure as staff were very welcoming and friendly and the location is excellent. »

We enjoyed the smooth processing of our booking, arrival and departure. Drinks in the lounge were enjoyable and relaxing. Breakfast was pleasant with window seats and a nice light, bright eating area. The room was comfortable. The entry to the lounge was slightly tired and carpet on stairs could be upgraded. The parking arrangements were also convenient and smooth to manage.
