I traveled from NZ to Perth stayed at the Holiday Inn great rooms very helpfull staff. Traveled to Melbourne week later stayed at the Grand Mercure off Little Burke str the hotel is under renovation rooms are nice stayed on floor 13 bit noisy in the mornings have stayed there about 8 times over the years very convenient to everything in Melbourne. Breakfast not included in price $25 each little expensive.

We found the staff helpful and very pleasant. The hotel is undergoing a revamp the noise was mineable. The room 1308 was breathtaking the decor was stunning and the carpet just blew you away. what a design. Plenty of fluffy towels. Bed excellent but pillow situation needs to be addressed ,small complaint. Breakfast was excellent tables cleared exceptionally fast. Thanks for having us.

Perfect location and spacious and clean new modern rooms. Loved that the bathroom was modern & clean. Efficient lifts. Bed was comfortable, however pillows were a little too soft and blankets not thick enough, felt slightly chilly throughout the night. Great service overall, however disappointed to find our room wasn't cleaned on our second night, despite displaying the housekeeping tag on the door. Also could have been pre-warned to use the rear entrance, as their main entrance is barred due to renovations. Also expect renovation noises to start at 8am, rather than the 9am notification.

When booking there was no indication that the hotel was undergoing renovation When booking I specifically asked for a quiet room. In fact the room was the most noisy of any accor hotel I have stayed anywhere in the world.

Firstly, thanks Nick for the bottle of bubbles in the room which was forgotten on our first stay. Beds/rooms were clean and comfortable. We did get a discount as our room wasn't cleaned on one day which was nice too. However, we were a little disappointed that at time of booking we didn't get told that renovations were still going on as per our first visit. But this time the Cocoon Bar was completely closed and not much else to do in the hotel apart from go straight to the room. The Louden Restaurant looked like we were walking into a lunchroom at a factory. Very basic and uninviting, we didn't even stay to get our free drinks. Room was made up for only 2 when there were 3 adults staying. We had to ring again for ice after waiting an hour. The location is really good, in the middle of Chinatown, but I'm really not too sure if I would stay again as both times we were disappointed. maybe I'll try again once renovations are completely finished as it was an inconvenience the 2nd time.

- Chic interior in the room - Big and safe bathroom - Comfortable mattress - Nice and big TV - Great support for late check-in up to 1PM - Good location - My first time staying this hotel but no welcome gift for the loyalty program - Fewer choices for breakfast - Realize that the housekeeper threw the bar soaps every day, it will be great to keep it to reuse. I don't want to open a new one every day.

Enjoy the hotel situation however with the renovations felt it was lacking a little. The room was very well decorated but the couch was not comfortable to relax on at all, a deeper seat would have been much nicer. We also miss being able to sit and have a drink in a nice bar area which has been one of our main reasons for staying in the past. Thought another comfortable bar area option should have been set up while renovations are happening. The problem with only one lift working was also a little frustrating. Having said that we will come back once the renovations have been completed.
