« Easy and Relaxing »

My partner and I had a great time at the Novotel Barossa. The room was at a much higher standard than I expected for a standard room (my partner actually thouhgt I had booked us a deluxe room), the view was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was great! We will definately be staying at the Novotel again! (once I book our hot air balloon trip again) Thankyou!

The view from our room in Barossa was great and the only disruption was when another guest, a few doors away, decided to play music loudly with the patio door wide open. Maybe a note to ask guests to be mindful of other's needs would be useful? The staff were very helpful - particularly the young waitress who spent time helping us make decisions about where to visit in the region. The breakfast was excellent, as was the evening meal, if somewhat expensive.

« Could of been better »

First told that room will be ready by 2:30. Went to eat in restaurant, waited 45mins for 2 club sandwiches- 1 was toasted the other not toasted and used 3 different breads. Breakfast waited 25 mins for 4 poached eggs, buffet selection was looking empty. Cancelled next day buffet. Dinner, ordered from room menu. Wrong order was sent out. The worse one is that you say that pool is heated. Well it’s not. That’s a big lie sorry

The hotel room was comfortable and well appointed. I think it had been refurbished in the not too distant past, and at one stage had had cooking facilities, these were partially removed, a cover had been put in the bench top where a hob had previously been. The lack of cooking facilities was a bit of a shame, and there was a real minimum amount of cutlery and crockery only 2 of everything No small plates, just dinner plates, bowls and mugs. Should have been better equipped, but in fairness we made do, and didn’t ask reception to remedy the situation which they might well have done. The restaurant we thought overpriced and a little pretentious. Unnecessarily confusing menu, and for all it’s pretentiousness we were seated next to a family with young children who were almost running riot! We were only able to get a Booking for 8.30 so this really wasn’t a family meal time. Again I have to admit we didn’t complain, we are grandparents ourselves, and it did seem a bit mean spirited. But the restaurant wasn’t full and it would have been easy enough to seat us somewhere else to start off with. The waiters and waitress were good , the the overall experience wasn’t great though and consequently this was the only time we dined here during our stay. We were also surprised at the lack of the usual tourist brochures at the hotel, we asked at reception and we were given a local map but there didn’t appear to be much else.

Pros; Clean and spacious room. Clean hotel and facilities throughout hotel. Great location in Barossa. Cons; No free wifi in room. No free water in room. No tea & coffee or sugar in room. Breakfast was lackluster.

« Great overall with a few issues. »

Staff very friendly and efficient. Room Attendants were skimpy on everything that was supplied in the room re: dish washing liquid, tissues, toilet paper and shower products. Room service took way to long 1Hr and 20min is not good enough, however we were given a bottle of wine as an apology. Not enough information given in the room on the facilities and hours of operation. The swimming pool is not big enough when it is hot as it is taken up by lots of kids, maybe a water park for the kids to free up some room in the swimming pool. Archery and flying fox was visible however looked out of operation and run down. Smokers should be separated from non smokers as we appreciate they have a right to smoke but they should be together, as we could not use our balcony two out of the four night stay.

As above.The pool and surroundings were great and most staff were very friendly and accommodating. Menu given to us when we first arrived was not the current one so that was a bit disappointing. By far the biggest disappointment was the small number of wines available by glass. Also the options for sparkling wines was really poor considering the region we were in . The offer of Jacobs Creek sparkling and a Prosecco by the glass was to be honest embarrassing with the fine examples available from the Barossa region.

« Unimpressed with service »

At check in we were not advised of breakfast procedure or what we were entitled to. The room was lovely and clean very comfortable. We much appreciated the Happy Anniversary note and complimentary drink vouchers provided, was a very nice touch. Breakfast on Sunday the staff in particular Dianne? Team Leader was amazing and all seemed fantastic service providers. Couldn't do enough. We were really disappointed with the bar staff on the Friday later afternoon as we arrived for tastings at 5.50pm but were told it was over and we could taste at the bar which we asked and were given a very small taste of the house wine. It took over 5 mins for us to be served at the bar even though there were numerous staff around and only one person purchasing a drink at the time. We sat at a table by the window to have our drink, there were only 2 other tables occupied in the dining room at the time and at approx 6.20pm we were told that we would need to leave the table as it was booked for someone else. It was a very unwelcome feeling in this area and would not entice me to want to stay longer or to eat there.

Lovely place to stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Meal in the restaurant was very nice. Played a round of golf and enjoyed the walk around the grounds. Best of all was the stunning view from our balcony.
