« Incredible, luxurious, but light on help. »

Our stay was incredible and the rooms and atmosphere of the hotel are wonderful. They are a perfect and unorthodox combination of plush and modern minimalism. My wife and I loved our stay. However, we never received any help with our luggage (and we had a lot). If we would have had help carrying our luggage to and from our room, then our stay would have been issue free.

Sofitel for me represents class and French hospitality. I feel comfortable in the rooms, I appreciate all the fine details that make the difference, like the welcome drink and the bottle of Evian waiting one can count on after a long trip or a long day.

« My experience at Sofitel Chicago was beyond exceptional! »

I was staying at the Sofitel Chicago for a work conference for 4 days 3 nights. I have traveled and stayed at many hotels, and I can confidently say that Sofitel Chicago has the best staff, especially Jenn Wolfe, Mercella, Jose, and Jimmy from the Conference Services/Banquets departments. They went the extra mile to make me feel welcome, comfortable, and happy.

« I had a nice sleep over »

The bathroom was gorgeous an inviting. The view was to die for. The electric shades that you could move up and down by beside was awesome. I was very shocked there wasn't a fridge that you could put your personal items in. I had to use the ice bucket to place my husbands medicine in. Our food that we bought out we couldn't rewarm when we were hungry later. I didn't get to use my breakfast voucher and the concierge let me know it expired once I checked out.

Stay was nice. Front desk team did an excellent job of recognizing my special occasion. There were couple of things I would recommend the management team focus on. Firstly, Bell services or door man. It seems that their phones are more important to them. I was carrying a lot of luggages while entering the front door. Two door staffs were playing with their phones in front and laughing when they saw me walking in, they looked up and then went back to play with their phones. I think it’s abit below Sofitel’s standards. Another element would be housekeeping, inside the bathroom there were missing amenities, such as Qtips and cotton pads. I was only going to be there for a night so I didn’t Want to go down and ask for it. Overall I think the front desk team did a good job, however, there were just some hiccups that should be looked into.

« OK, other than I was over charged »

I was charged for parking and an amenity fee. I did not have a car and wasnt told about an amenity charge. I believe both need to be taken off of my credit card and despite contacting you several times, I have heard nothing back.

Accidentally left my spare mobile phone in the room. Front desk refuses outrightly and housekeeping is unreachable. It had my personal information which is at risk now.

« Disappointing »

From someone else's medication in our bed to the banging electrical closet door across the hall to the paint/spackle on the carpets the Sofitel Chicago does not get high marks from us. No explanation offered about the medication and no effort made to correct the door situation that kept us awake most of the night. Wouldn't stay here again, especially considering the price.
