« Tired underfunded and overpriced hotel »

1. Room clean and moderately comfortable. Basic facilities. 2. No English language TV. One American channel covering only the USA. 3. Check in slow. It took 5 minutes to find the only person who could check me in. 4. Breakfast and breakfast area average to poor. Torn coverings on some of the seats. Stale bread rolls. Limited choice. Poor decor. Not enough staff to cope with breakfast and check outs. I get the feeling that IBIS regards customers simply as cash cows.

Hello, IBIS in other countries has higher level for the value paid 189 EUR. The room was small, obsolete. Breakfast was the best thing on the hotel. The hotel seems on the corridors to be reconstructed. More benefits - award card for frequent stayers would be appreciated. Thanks,

« Clean, OK to get your your head down for a bit. »

Nice enough room, clean and comfortable. Just a couple of things I would have liked... It would have been great to have a kettle and instant coffee and tea in the room as standard in most hotels. The breakfast was OK, could have done with some vegetarian options if possible but crucially I couldn't find any tomato ketchup! An oversight if there ever was one.

Hotel room shows signs for upgrading now. Bathroom shower tap has a ring that came off, exposing sharp edges. Support for shower screen glass panel came loose, leaving the metal rod dangling, posing safety hazard.Location of power point under the writing table makes it tough for business traveller who needs to work on computer. For foreign traveller who uses adaptors, there is insufficient power points.

Great place to stay, Management & communication was very bad. Despite my calling directly to correct the date, I was verbally assured ALL OK and end up Outbooted/ rush out on the last minute missing my meeting!!

« Not great - non-functional AC (I count not turn it off through my entire stay) and non-functional main door! »

I could not switch off my AC throughout my stay and you can still see that I had manually closed the ducts with the information cards. The door would never open properly and I had to use force everytime!

« Overall, a pleasant, comfortable experience »

Overall, very pleasant. We chose the Baar Ibis primarily because of the location--the railway station across the street made for exceptionally easy travel to Lucerne and to Zurich Airport. Also, having previously stayed at other Ibis hotels (in London), we knew we could expect a clean room, comfortable bed, and basic amenties at a reasonable price. The Baar Ibis did not disappoint, and the town of Baar itself was a most pleasant surprise.

The Ibis in Baar is in a very convenient location right across from the station. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only negative point is that the food menu is very basic - ready meals basically and they quite often seem to have run out various options. Good value though and breakfast is fine for self service. As budget hotels go it is very good.

« Our stay has been a complete disaster. »

We check in on Sunday, 5th August 2018. On the following day, we get up and, bewildered, start seeing bugs -some sort of small roaches- everywhere in the room. We kill a lot of them. We call the reception desk. Two employees come up, verify that there are many bugs, also kill a few and decide to move us into another room. But they thoughtlessly give us the next-door room, which is full of insects as well. We get indignant and complain. When we come back at night, we realise that they have sprayed insecticide in our absence and without prior warning. The floor is full of dead bugs, dust and dirt. It does not smell much but my wife's eyes start burning and itching. We complain once more, since they should have let us know in advance in case we were allergic to the product. However, the manager denies having used any product. He denies it again and again although it is obvious they did use one. The product was very strong. My wife's eyes continue burning. On the following day we still see two dying bugs; one is very small and the other is like a pea. Today it is Sunday, 12th August, and we are leaving after seven days without having received any response to our complaints from the manager. After having asked him to write down the name of the insecticide for us and he having refused to do that however much we insisted on it, we have not seen him again since Thursday. He has disappeared! We check out without anyone offering us the least compensation. Goodbye, Ibis Hotel, we won't see you again! For more than 15 years we have been staying there twice a year, in August and in October. The service was getting worse every year, but this year it has been just unbelievable....

As mentioned during our conversation at the hotel, we did not use any insect spray and no other special supplies because those native insects came from our normal Swiss habitat and live in our nature. As also informed, if windows are kept open it can occur due to the hot outside temperature at the time, that they can get exceptionally also in apartments and buildings. Efficient service, good breakfast buffer, ideal location right near the train station, restaurants and COOP supermarket. VERY comfortable bed. Since there are not that many options in Baar, this would be the most reliable one in my opinion.

I liked the smooth service and peacefully quiet stay. The location right in front of the Baar train station is a great asset as I need to commute to Zug for business every day while in Baar, but it also allowed me to drop by after work, freshen up and hop on another train to spend a lovely evening in Luzern. A flattening iron and plank were provided in my room which was really helpful.

The Ibis at Baar is very convenient as it is near to the Station allowing easy access to other towns/cities. It is comfortable and not over priced.
