« Front desk staff unaware of hotel policy »

Everything was ok except that the Front Desk person wanted to take a credit card guarantee when I had already paid for the room plus extra guarantee when I checked in online. After I left, again I was contacted to send a credit card number to pay for the room. You still have 200€ of my money that I need to get back and no response from the hotel.

I was very satisfied with all the amenities. Check-in took less than a minute. The hotel terrace forms part of an agreeable urban space. The bar service was fast and efficient. The linen was fresh and crunchy. The towels were plenty. The night was quiet with no outside noise, third floor, room 18, window closed during the night, and opened in the morning. On entering the room, it was a bit too cold, because the air conditioning was turned up too high. Mind you, it was during a couple of hot days.

Ibis Baar had everything we needed on our recent trip: directly opposite the railway station, close to local amenities (supermarket etc.) and in a peaceful location. The staff were also very helpful when we needed an iron on the first morning of our stay. The fast check-out option was also extremely convenient.

The room was clean and well supplied. The only problem is that the lift is used by both guests and housekeeping. I have said before a separate lift should be installed for housekeeping. I appreciate that probably most guests are fit but for those of us who aren't a fit is needed to be available at all times. The staff in Baar are both friendly and helpful. One thing that is not acceptable is the bar prices, CHF 17 for a gin and tonic is extortionate. In a 4 or 5 star hotel maybe but a budget hotel in a railway station, no.

Easy booked with Accor App. Extremely friendly check-in. Relaxing dinner outside in front of the hotel. Car parked safely underground. The usual Ibis room quality, very quite. The usual Ibis breakfast.

Stated for two nights, didn't have a Swiss power adaptor with me and the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful in suggesting places to buy some, and after this was unsuccessful he was able to charge my phone until I purchased an adaptor the next day. Hotel was perfect in itself as well, high standard of cleanliness.

Excellent service, friendly and comfortable. The whole experience was worth the money. Will definitely recommend the hotel to friends and business colleagues. And Zug is a great place to explore the lake and surrounding countryside.

The hotel is very well run, rooms are tidy and very comfortable. My only criticism is the noise from other rooms. I was woken up by other guests each morning, either in the room above or the one next door. Maybe more soundproofing could be installed.

« Correct stay in Baar »

Correct stay, noise from corridor (door slams, people talking). Price very expensive for an Ibis. Breakfast OK but could have offered more fresh food. Parking charged but access from hotel. Drop parking in front of the hotel. Hotel situated downtown facing the railway station.

Some changes sonce last stay which was suprising, nice new breakfast, although dinner/ in house restaurant selection is very slim if you want to eat in the hotel.
