« Great location »

The first room (105) was so small the bed almost touched the wardrobe and i had to drag my suitcase over the bed to store out of the way. Every shower I took was cold so I finally changed rooms and moved to 415 and then everything was perfect.

Great, staff friendly and accommodating. Bartender had good personality. Really enjoyed breakfast. Suites were well laid out, nice size. Would have been nice to have late night room service available, even for simple foods.

Ok Breakfast room nice, small bar area underwhelming and never enticed me in for a drink which is quite contrary to what I normally do (chance to make money lost) Needed a couple more do not disturb signs to make sure the room was left as I wanted it Not been to France for a few years so this might be the norm but expect staff of a five star hotel to be more attentive e.g. how are you today? Etc Bathroom for a suite was poor and in need of modernising

WiFi was out nearly the entire time of our stay. Unacceptable! Breakfast was great, room size ample. Didn't like the handicap shower - water goes all over the floor.

The common spaces were lovely, it was a very good breakfast and the staff were lovely, very kind and helpful. The room was not so good because the mattress on the bed was poor, it sagged a lot on each side and there was a big hump down the middle. It was also a shame that the window glass was opaque so I couldn't see anything outside. Although the view was only of other walls it would have been much nicer to have the choice to see outside. The chocolate each night was a nice touch, thank you.

« This is a great hotel. The staff is generally kind and polite. But there seems to be NO URGENCY in responding to guest needs such as: room service; broken internet connection; and essential requests such as asking for toilet paper. »

As stated earlier, the staff needs to understand the urgency in responding to guest needs. It is incomprehensible that a hotel in today's time will have no internet for 2 complete days and with little urgency surrounding this issue. When the trainees or the staff at the front desk give you the same answer "ASAP" in an hour after hour and day after day, then it does not give you the confidence that the hotel management is serious about guest satisfaction. The building and infrastructure are ok, but the service needs to catch up to the 21st century needs. Also, this hotel badly needs a fitness area. Again, this is an essential part of any luxury hotel. This is probably the only luxury hotel I have traveled to in the 15 different countries I have visited this last year where there is no fitness center. I am absolutely shocked!!

« Well placed and nice breakfast! »

The hotel is really well placed and has a lovely atmosphere! The breakfast cost is really expensive (27€), but so nice to get a perfectly made omelette!!! And you feel like you sit in a country kitchen while eating it! The bathroom starts to be worn out with a need of a new sink and new shower/bath. Reception staff, really friendly. But how come my "key" had to be reprogrammed every day? Due to an expo the hotel cost was increased with +60% for some of the nights. Is that really fair? Since it is the same service at the hotel and I used the same sheets in the same room all the time! The hotel as such is really a nice experience but I left the place with a feeling of that I think I will book another hotel next time!

There was one problem; it was too hot and I could not cool my room down. I turned the air conditioner down to its lowest setting and then turned it off. Neither of these cooled the room. I had to open the window to cool the room but of course that meant I had to put up with the street noise.

« Not reflective of a 5 Star house »

The advertised facilities were not avaialble. There was ongoing construction work which meant that the rooms to the rear were noisey, dark and didn't reflect the pictures in the ineternet. We were provided an alternative on the street side which was a handicap room with very problematic fixtures and fittings (bathroom was not very useable) and the air conditioning had been truned off due to the season! Consequntly either loud or warm.

I arrived with my son to celebrate his birthday in Lyon. The room we were allocated was facing full scale construction, that nobody informed us in advance. In front of our windows and balconies we had bags of cement and other building materials. Everything was covered by a building cloth obstructing daylight. Inside the room there were white foot traces on the carpet from the building dust. the roomed smelled like construction site, impossible to breathe. When I asked them to change the room, the management did not do any effort to properly handle the situation and simply said they cannot help. When I asked them to move me to other property of Accord group in Lyon, they first were bewildered, then they gave me first one price at the nearby Sofitel, then within 30 min of our conversation the price increased for 100 euros. All in all, it was a nightmare for what was supposed to be a birthday of my 7 year old excuses were made after our trip neither. They position M Gallery as a new generation luxury hotel chain, but the reality is it is neither new generation, nor definitely luxury or even close to that... The level of unprofessional hospitality management is staggering...I travel a lot, almost every week. I have Air France platinum card for life. This extremely awkward and unprofessional treatment destroyed the image of M Gallery brand for me and obviously for my friends...

« Our experience was very good as we upgraded our room on arrival to a suite. »

The room we were assigned had a view of a brick wall and construction pipes so that the dark curtains could never be opened. The suite had two rooms and two washrooms that were lovely but needed some minor maintenance such as repairs to the tile work and doors seemingly from water damage. Otherwise, they were stunning. The beds were ultra nice and we slept very well. The view from the windows was the large Place across the rue. The breakfasts were extraordinary and took place in a beautiful room. The staff were very polite and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience!

As a Platinum Accor member I expected a better room. Also, even with the Do Not Disturb sign on door, Housekeeping knocked, plus called the room several times, one morning. Front desk sort of apologized but gave no indication that they would address the issue.
