« Very very disappointed »

we were given our room after a long trip only to discover upon opening the door that our room with had all our requests and a welcoming note by my name was given to someone else! we open the door to find the suitcase and the person's clothes all over the room. we go down to the receptionist who thinks we are lying! after discovering the horrible mistake done by the staff she tells us we are fully booked and i cant do anything!! we suggest that she tries to find the actual room the person occupying ours was supposed to be in! and vola we are finally given a room half the size of our original room, which we had to help the staff member with moving the baby bed to. we were told the manager will be informed and the situation will be sorted. we thought an official apology would be enough! we didn't even get that! we dismissed the situation but asked for a delayed checkout only to be told that there is no possibility etc and even as a member of the Accor hotels i have no chance. the next day a more helpful staff made the effort to check for the possibility of a delayed checkout and informed me it was actually possible. i must say the only thing i liked about this hotel is the location, otherwise mostly incompetent and lazy staff.

The lady on reception was most helpful and totalled engaged with guests, however her male counterparts barely acknowledged our existence i.e. they did not greet us when entering or leaving the hotel. Rather rude.

Great customer service at the front desk. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was nice. The bar is a bit disappointing as it really just part of reception but there is nothing you can do about this. Overall very good and I would recommend to a friend.

« Fantastic location »

The hotel overall was very good, it would have been nice to have a proper bar and also breakfast was a waste of money as by the time we arrived on the first day there was hardly anything to eat and it took ages for more food to come out, breakfast room was far too small for the amount of rooms. The room was ok, very small but ok for two nights. Location and service were good and would probably return.

2 night stay in the center of the Lyon. Even if the overall quality of the stay was correct, I was expecting better from a 4 star hotel from Accor Group. I have in mind precisely the complete lack of consistency of the water temperature in the bathroom during the shower that was constantly oscillating between extremely cold into extremely hot (even burning) , in a few seconds laps. Moreover, I have the feeling that I didn't get full quality regarding the room I got due to the fact that I paid it with my loyalty points. Just average

I was given a mid floor (Room 301), without a view and near to elevator though I indicated preference for high floor, far from elevator and with a few. However these are minor issues. Below are plus points and bigger issues that I have: Negative: 1. Housekeeping left mini fridge door open on 17th Jan. I kept about 40 Euro worth of soft cheese and hard cheese in the fridge. Half (those soft cheese) were spoilt because of this. Though it is winter, the fridge itself generates a lot of surrounding heat. Hence when the fridge door not closed the temperature could reach higher than 40C. When I reach hotel at the early evening it is already too late, damage already done. I have feedback this to your front desk when I checkout. 2. The water temperature is erratic. It keeps getting hotter/colder when I adjusted it. E.g when I turn the knob to make it slightly hotter, it was perfect initially. Then it keeps getting hotter till almost at boiling temperature. When I try to make it just slight colder in response, it gets progressively colder and colder with time. Positive: 1. Storage of luggage and cheese when I arrived early and after I checkout 2. Reasonable breakfast selection 3. Has Elevator 4. Non smoking hotel 5. Good location

Our room was quite small and there was a funny smell in it so we opened the window to air the room. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice. Would have been nice to have a coffee machine as standard in rooms.

« PERFECT !!!! »

the best location in Lyon without a doubt,minutes from everything including the pedestrian obligatory street...the old Lyon and its well priced restaurants meters away, grand brasseries next door.the room we had had real double windows ( 2 sets...) and was absolutely quiet...it pays also to pay for the better room if you have lots of luggage, we did not partake in the breakfast as it is pricey and the place is surrounded by cafes and patisseries ...charming staff everywhere, this is now our hotel in Lyon !

« Perfect for short stay »

Reception staff excellent. Approx a month before our arrival I asked them to recommend local authentic Lyonnaise restaurants which they did. Chose one of them and your staff booked it for me. On arrival they confirmed the booking for me an an excellent evening and meal was had by our party. Room 108 was small but functional except that there were no shelves in the tiny wardrobe for clothes. Any more than two nights and it would have been uncomfortable. Balcony excellent. One complaint reception area far too hot, we wanted to sit down together after an evening out but had to leave reception because it was uncomfortably hot.

« Comfortable, modern hotel in great location »

Our room was well equipped and large by European standards. Bed was comfortable--very important to us! Staff members were helpful and nice. We did have very noisy neighbors next door to us for 2 nights. The staff handled the situation appropriately, but we were disappointed to have 2 nights' sleep interrupted by guests who were partying.

« Nice hotel, great location »

Hotel is in a great location, easy access to old and new Lyon, and easy walking distance to two metro lines.It is not a large hotel, so nice and intimate. Our room was a good size (Privileges room on 1st floor) and had a nice large bathroom. Housekeeping was very good.Probably the only 'issue' as such was the breakfast room which was a bit small and hard to accommodate everyone turning up at the same time! The breakfast supplied was very good, good variety, and loved being able to boil your own eggs!We enjoyed our stay there.

« Outstanding quality, excellent service, brilliant location »

From the moment we walked into the hotel we were impressed with the location and were taken with the exceptional welcome and assistance from the staff (check in around 5pm). The room was magnificent and had amazing views over the square and down the street. Furniture was comfortable, beds were to our liking and nothing was a problem if we asked for it. I can’t fault the hotel or it’s staff. Plenty of choices for food, easy walk to sites and shopping. It was excellent.

I stayed at different Mercure before but this one is the most simple and not equipped well one. The room is small and the setting of the bedroom is not as comfortable as others. We almost "slapped" by the hotel automatic front door twice because it was open outward but not inward. However, by located in the center, the room is pretty quiet.

The safe stopped working after a few uses. The front desk staff was usually helpful. I like that you are willing to store luggage after checkout. Do not disturb sign was ignored, and room cleaned anyway. :( because stuff wasn't secured. Everything was clean.
