I was disapointed -- I had requested a quiet room but was placed very near the lift, which I could hear. Previously I have been placed well away fro the lift and stairs.

I had a very comfortable 8 night stay at Ibis Zurich City West. The plus point of the property is its location between 2 tram stations and within spitting distance of Technoparkstrasse, supermarkets and a few eateries. The room was clean and serviced well and no loud noises in the corridors or from outside. The heating system worked well as did the WIFI. They do offer breakfast but it clashed with my diet. Staff are relatively helpful however, Ursina was the exception. She had great energy and went out of her way to help. My only hang up was having to iron in a pokey room downstairs and that there's no kettle in the room for when you don't want to go downstairs for a cup of tea or coffee.

Rooms are very clean and comfortable but i felt a small fridge and an electric kettle should be bare minimum for such an establishment.

The fridge and kettle do not actually belong to the ibis standards in Switzerland. This being said, we do have a fridge on the ground floor where we are happy to keep some of our guests belongings. « Splendid for a budget hotel it is. »

Housekeeping was great, WiFi too and Tv channels sufficient in an official non English speaking city. However, tv channel list could have language in front of each channel. I only mistakenly stumble on the fact that English channels were together from Aljazeera English down. Arrived on Saturday to realise there's no dinner served in the hotel despite having a menu card that says otherwise. Lift sufficient and efficient but front office staff on last day Friday at 5pm was not friendly. Simple question on what attraction can we take advantage of in the evening, she retorted "I don't know but here you go through this brochure and figure out what / where you go visit!". Wasn't nice been treated that way. Eventually came down with my Caucasian girlfriend, only then, she gave more little information. Booked through Booking.com and have all I was promised.

My family and I, felt disrespected and aggressively treated by the reception, unnecessary and threatened comentaries. The was no information or solution provided and the person whom was there reacted to simple questions in a highly aggressive manner, something never experienced before.

« Rooms small lack of amenities »

Rooms were quite small. Lack of amenities. No kettle for making tea or coffee. For a two star hotel the fees are similar to a four start hotel i.e. Novtel which has all the required amenities and a larger room. Value for money not worth it. It should be way cheaper or offer basic amenities at the very least.

The room was small but clean, well lit, with all the basic amenities (tv, hairdrier, soap, wifi). Wifi worked well. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated to find additional pillow and duvet in the room. The staff at reception was extremely helpful and professional, always ready to help with a smile! As a whole it was a pleasant stay. The only minus point was the breakfast. The choice of food was extremely limited and not very fresh. I don't think I will ever take any meals there again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The room was a good ratio price-quality for Zurich. The only downside was the shower. It lacked water pressure and the water whether was cold or super hot even with the tap in the same position. Other than that, I enjoyed staying at this hotel.

Hello. When I was last time number is was: 1) Smoked, but smoking not allowed 2) Cleaners were hurrying from time to time - and not take care about walls in a bathroom. For example not understandable red blots on the wall. Or left undisclosed trash bag in the bathroom. Just thrown into the bucket. Thank you and have a nice day.

Nice as usual. Clean room and great staff that go the extra mile to look after you. But to not have the restaurant open and to go next door to the sister company for a meal that was very good but more expensive I found a little pushy. The ibis restaurant always had a good choice at a fraction of the price.

Bad things: Rooms are quite small even 2 persons can't pass together. No tea maker Tv channels are limited and mostly European Only 1 power point Washroom has no hand showers.
