I booked and paid online but had to go through a process on checking in (despite checking in online). I was initially told my booking did not exist and all in all waited about 20mins to eventually clear things up. On getting to the apartment things were ok but there we not enough towels in the bathroom and my wife and I were just too tired to complain. Things can be improved significantly.

We were unable to stay due to the conditions of the apartments that we booked. The rooms were extremely filthy and smelt of smoke. The carpets were horrendous and our children started coughing. When we requested that the apartments be cleaned the cleaning staff were rude and didn't want to attend to us. The kitchen had minimal utensils - 1 fork for four people. The cot that was provided was dirty and didn't have a matress. We cut short our stay since the place was unbearable.

« Generally speaking, our stay was good and restful »

As usual our stay at Mercure Hotel was worth the time and money we spent there. Staff at the reception are friendly and helpful. However, the trash bin door in the room was broken when we checked in; the security door lock was broken and unavailable. I would have expected this to be reported to maintenance crew to be repaired before we checked in. The chip board fittings in the bathroom are being eaten away by water and and don't look presentable.

« A home away from home and opposite a great mall (East Gate) »

As usual it is a lovely stay due to proximity to office & accessibility to the mall and my church (Mater Dolorosa / Kensington Catholic Church). I requested not to be placed in the flats 1 or 2 due to the proximity to the construction (they construct quite fast but still under construction) so as much as possible try to avoid those units. Off course my request was granted. The staff were very nice although I don't know the name the cleaner of my room on June 16, 17 and also on 21 is very polite, very nice and helpful. I am quite surprise that eventhough its cold outside when you reach the room its warm and the temperature is very good if you would like to work. The special thing there is that I just realized that outside there is a small patio so if you have kids that would be very good for them to play. During the stay there were some areas for improvement that I noticed. Although for me I am not that easy to complain. The phone is not working, & the kitchen wash tub sink there is a leak in the water tub although I seldom use it. Lastly the breakfast area eventhough I only used it once. I think its a bit pricy but if you eat a lot its ok. The food taste is very good. And the chef (the one in the pantry for eggs) is really good and she remembers her guest, since I started booking in this hotel from 2016 she is already there. She is the chef on 16 June because I only took breakfast once since I always go out very early so only on Saturday is my time to have breakfast. All in all other than the sink & phone everything is ok and would stay here again as usual.

My latest hotel experience was mixed feelings, I am a regular visitor and have a membership account with accor hotels and whilst l enjoy staying at this hotel due to its convenient location. I find that standards seem to go down and basic items like basic toiletries are not always provided, however are provided upon request. This should be made mandatory. Hotel to keep on top of maintenance, my hotel room toilet was leaking a high risk of slip and falls. I felt harrassed by one of the hotel contracted transport drivers who constantly talked about money from the moment he picked me up from airport and when he dropped me back to the airport. l informed the harrasing driver to take up the issue with the hotel as l was the gust of the hotel and that airport transfers are arranged with hotel and not with him as an individual. I would understand that if l make any private arrangements with the driver that will be settled with him and not via the hotel. Hotel Staff should also be trained to provide hotel guests with all details with regards to transport different charge rates i.e small car and big car to avoid confusion and misunderstandings. Hotel staff to ensure to record accurately with regards to flight changes and changes of expected times of arrival. These issues had a huge impact on my stay.

It was good, the bar man was friendly and the food was good too. The room was not to the international standards as expected but acceptable. The security was excellent, it is located at a secured neighborhood especially that it’s a walkable distance to the mall

the air con in the sitting room was not working and we did not know how to operate it. we called the reception to send someone but no one showed up, there was only one extra blanket provided. in the bathroom there was only one shower gel and shampoo, no other accessories, like shower cap, toothpaste and toothbrush and also the toilet brush to clean the toilet.
