It's always good to be welcomed by name before actually checking in. The breakfast is substantial with a large selection of meats, cooked vegetables, pastries and juices. The rooms are large enough to be comfortable with aircon or heating, adequate toiletries and fresh towels. The WiFi is excellent.

On check-in, apparently my booking did not reflect on the hotel system, although I had done the booking on my Android App. This was a nervous 10 minutes. Hotel was not winning although I showed them the booking on my app. Eventually, when I sis a ONLINE check-in on the app, did it reflect. This was extremely disappointing and stressful experience as it was late at night, and the feared the possibility of having to find alternate accommodation.

It was fine there were a few things such as the extractor in the bathroom which is very noisy the bar fridge and the carpet in my room which was non-smoking had burns on it which made it look bad

The food was amazing. The rooms can just be cleaner. The phamplets next to the tv were greasy and had food marks on them, and the access card that I received also had sauce on it. If I can make a recommendation; put the kettle on top of the table, it is a bit hard to bend down if you have back problems. But furthermore I will use Mercure Midrand when I come on my business trips.

I asked for non smoking room and as I entered my room I could smell that smokers have used the room even of not recently, it gave me a headache and I had to switch the aircon on which was very noisy. Linen was nice and clean thank you. Only 2 tiny milk available and as I wasnt advised if breakfast was included or at what times it was served or even asked if I would like breakfast, I would have enjoyed more than two cups of coffee/tea throughout the night and morning. Im not a regular traveller and am not demanding but will not rebook any time soon. Too unpersonal. Gate security was very friendly and professional.
