The pricing was reasonable, the staff was friendly The carpet needs to be properly maybe deep clean and also the carpet smelled like cigarette The chair in the room was not clean @ all, it had dirty marks otherwise the bathroom was clean

I was visiting a print show at The Gallagher so your hotel is in a perfect position for that. The staff behind the check in counter were very helpful and pleasant. The only one problem I had there was a buzzing noise all night I could here in my room, not sure what it was but a little annoying but that said I would definitely come and stay with you again.

I used the online check-in and was promised my room and key would be available on arrival, this was never the case. I mentioned to Sarah at reservations that I would arrive late at night and she told me the room would be ready on arrival as I had checked in online. To my disappointment on arrival I was told my room had been given away and that the hotel was full. I was given room 102 which was a paraplegic room. I was not impressed at all. On Saturday night from 10 pm to 1 am the hotel was extremely noisy. Guests who seemed to be travelling as a large group gathered in couple of the rooms and were responsible for the noise. I called reception a number of times and was told security was going to be sent to take care of the situation and the situation was never taken care of promptly. I received a call from reception advising me to call if the noise persisted and the noisy guests were going to be removed. I feel this was not my duty as a guest to have to stay up and report issues that are against hotel policy when staff and security have been made aware of the situation. I have stayed with the hotel a number of times and it has been a preferred place to stay when I travel for business to stay as it is close to my office. This experience has tainted all the good experiences I have had with the hotel.

I stayed at your Midrand Hotel from Thursday to Sunday. I was not happy. The room given to me was too small. The carpets/bedding either had fleas or was filthy. I had a rash all over my body all weekend. Itching all the time. I asked for an extra bed for my son, I was given a very, very hard bed. It was like he slept on bricks, then you still charged R300 per night for that crap extra bed. I did complain to the staff at reception. I really am not happy about the stay. I doubt I would return to any of your hotels. Then the lift makes a lot of noise. COSATU people made noise till 2am my floor on Saturday night

« It was lovely, my girlfriend's first time in Johnnesburg and in a hotel and she fell inlove with Mercure. »

It was great. My girlfriend was visiting Johannesburg for the first time and she fell inlove with your hotel, so much that we're planning to book there from 30/11/2018 until 04/12/2018 as my birthday is on the 02/12/2018 and she would like to be at Mercure once again. The staff were friendly even over the phone as we drove to Joburg telling them we'd have to check in early, they were helpful.

I enjoyed my stay at The Mercure Midrand. The room was satisfactory and the breakfast was good. The only problem I had is the carpet which is not clean and the ordering of food from restaurant was not nice. I would have preferred to go down to eat my dinner.
