Location was ideal for our purposes, appreciated the discount for Car Parkingwasn't overly impressed with the breakfast facility ,room wasn't particularly suitable and at e16.50 eachviewed it as a bit pricey. Staff were very pleasant and attentive

First time using this brand and as always in cities location is prime consideration and with our first choice not being available we found this to be very suitable to the extent the popular areas were only a short walk away. We also appreciated the car park arrangements with the discount for the overnight. Whilst room was comfortable it had an unusual configuration . Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful when requested. The breakfast room lacked space and at E16.50 each was on the expensive side.

« Great location with even better service! »

The Mercure hotel is located perfectly on a quiet street, just minutes from the Old Town, restaurants, lake, train station and shops. The rooms are basic but very clean, comfortable and most importantly...quiet. We had a fantastic stay which was improved by the lovely service from all those who worked at the hotel. The girls on reception were so polite and helpful. We will definitely go back to Annecy and stay again at the Mercure.

A good position in the town within any easy ewalk of the bus and train station and then into the old town and to the lakeside. The rooms, whilst not having any particular external view are well presented and well lit. Breakfast is available with a reasonable choice but in a fairly small room which can get rather congested but Chloe and colleague keep bury topping up supplies and clearing spaces with friendly smiles. If you want to venture out for breakfast there are plenty of patisseries to choose from.

Disappointed with the standard of the hotel. It was adequate, but certainly did not fit the star rating displayed outside. The hotel was in a great location and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Good day, I am absolutely disgusted at the treatment of our situation. Especially as I am a member of Le Club AccorHotels. When I booked, I received an email saying that I could check in before 12am to save me time doing this at the reception desk. I did this, and then arrived at 12. We were asked to re- fill out the form, even though I had just done this online only to be told our room was not ready. We left our bags and returned at 1pm for the receptionist to have to call to see if we could get access to our room. When we got to our room, we noticed the ceiling panel by the air con dislodged, this had a light fitting attached to it therefore on our way out for the afternoon we told reception that this needed putting in place. When we returned for a rest around 4.30 we noticed the room was not cool at all, the air con was not working. The receptionist come to the room to confirm that this was not working and then said she had phoned an engineer to come and repair it while we were at dinner. We returned at 9.30pm to be told that the engineer had come and that a part was needed and couldn’t be repaired until the next day. Throughout this saga, the receptionist was inconsistent with her facts, according to her, a guest the previous night had dislodged the ceiling panel and the the engineer had in fact been out that morning, before we checked in, to say that the air con was not working. At this point Mercure had knowledge that that room was malfunctioning yet still sold it to us an gave us zero opportunity throughout the 9 hours that we had the room to find a suitable alternative or allow us to stay elsewhere. A room with no air con is not acceptable. At this point, we pressed that we would not be staying in that room and that the receptionist must find us another room in the town, fortunately the Splendid had one room remaining and the next debate we had was who was paying for the Splendid. The receptionist phoned her manager Stephanie who confirmed that the Mercure would pay for the hotel. We left to go stay at the Splendid. The next day, when I checked my bank account, my credit card has been charged £187.03 PLUS what I presume is the city tax of £0.89 (for a room we did not stay in). I hope that this is a administrative error by a receptionist who doesn’t know what they are doing because if this isn’t a mistake, then I am disgusted at being charged an amount that was more than I booked in the first place, but I’ve also been charged the city tax. I had every intention this morning of emailing the hotel to say that I didn’t want to be charged any amount because of the absolute inconvenience and lies surrounding our room yesterday and that I would find it distasteful to be charged in the first place. It is not acceptable to have to relocate to another hotel at that time of the evening, not to mention the anxiety of waiting to hear about the status of our room. We asked the receptionist to phone us when the engineer had an update and alas she did not. Imagine my anger at discovering that I have been charged MORE, I feel like you have stolen from me. The overall quality of the hotel was overwhelming for a 4* hotel, even for french standards. The room was clean but it was not very cozy nor modern. Bathroom is separated from bathtube and the air conditioning did not work at all. The later was really bad taking into account that we were in the middle of the heat wave. The staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful giving me a hand when I needed to send a package to the hotel to pick it up when during my check-in.

This hotel was in a great location, staff were friendly, room was comfortable and breakfast was adequate. But overall, we were not impressed and felt this let down the brand. Wifi was woeful, towels were like thin rags and toiletries were mostly non existent other than a soap bar. it was also unclear what a Silver ACCOR Status gave us other than bottle of complimentary water (with two people staying in the room.) Overall, this was a let down.

« A great chance to meet my Australian and French daughters in a friendly and professionally run hotel »

I chose hotel Mercure because it is near the station and easy to find. I was meeting my Australian daughter and this was a rae chance for me to meet both her and my French daughter in Annecy. Reception was excellent and we were all very pleased with our accommodation which was clean and comfortable. Everything worked without problems and we all enjoyed the breakfasts, especially the choice available. when I managed to lock the safe by mistake reception immediately dealt with what was my error. We were very happy to stay at Mercure central and would choose the hotel again.

Our room was small but contained all the essentials. The shower was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and a good value. The staff were very polite and helpful, and patient as we tried to speak french, even though they could speak and understand English for the most part. This was an excellent value.
