« Terrible Service »

The majority of the staff at the Mercury Chamonix Center are in desperate need of training, in customer service. One example would be, I asked a waiter for a cafe latte at breakfast, he pointed to the coffee pot & hot milk pot. I then explained what I wanted again, he said “yes ok” and then he didn’t bother to do anything, just ignored what I’d asked for. Firstly, not only is that rude, it is also unacceptable from a customer service point of view, to leave a guest and have no intention of helping them. The food that was ordered at dinner, was very uninspiring when you are there for a whole week on half board basis & again the service could be terrible. From not getting what was ordered, to ignoring a request to how I’d like my meat cooked. Overall, the restaurant was very very disappointing

« Not what expected from a 4* hotel »

Booked for 9 people on a half board basis. Restaurant was closed one of the days and dinner on the other 2 nights was very poor. Staff were rude to members of our group and did not make for a pleasant stay. We will not return again.

« We had a wonderful stay. »

We are a family of four and stayed for 5 nights with a half board package. We had a wonderful stay and would like to mention how wonderful the food and beverage staff were at breakfast and dinner. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was large enough for the family and the location of the hotel gave great access to the town center and the bus for the snow.

« Hotel is very nice but some service issues »

No recognition of being a le club gold member until I prompted, at which point they still said they couldn't see it on the system, but on showing my electronic card I did get a drink voucher. I was disappointed not to get a room upgrade given there were rooms available. The following day our keys stopped working and speaking with front desk, they thought we were only staying for 1 night, despite clearly having booked for 2 nights which is what even their documents/welcome pack said. We thought it was great that the rooms had a bath but with no plug it could not be used. We rang reception about this who said they could not do anything for 40 minutes as there was only one person on the desk. 40 minutes later they rang back to say that they would need a repair person so they would not be able to do anything at all.

« Well located with comfortable room and easy access to the railway station »

The bed is large and the superior room is very spacious. Is a pet friendly hotel. Located at a walking distance to the centre of Chamonix and to nice bars in front of the railway station. The only disappointing matter is the hotel does not provide any luggage transportation to the room and if there is snow it is quite difficult parking and off-loading own luggage and sky equipment since there is quite good traffic on the road.

« worst »

Extremely Dirty everywhere including bed duvet and sheet, no technician to fix telephones, staff(except one blond boy) not helpful and tied of any request you put forward. This hotel is running very badly like a two star hotel.

« A staff as cold as the weather in Chamonix. »

The staff has been indifferent to our requests during our stay. The hotel has four stars without any apparent reason. Other than being next to the train station I cannot see any apparent advantage to this hotel.

The staff is helpful and friendly. The room is upgraded as requested. We checked out earlier due to personal issue. The manager tried to propose credit for future stay.

Got a warm room with amazing mountain view, overlooking Mont Blanc which we saw only once as it was snowing almost all the time, but that is why we came to Chamonix:) Wish only that the lift was operational during our stay

because of weather reason , I need to change the date of my booking, as Accor plus member I hope any special service, I didn’t cancel my booking, only to change the date two days later, my friend who stay at another hotel at chamonix can change the date without any charges, but I lost my booking at all , I talk to mercure manager maybe she can help me to change the date with a little charge, but she didn’t help me at all, and to night We are at chamonix and choose another hotel and I dont want to stay at mercure Chamonix

This hotel is nice to stay in,facilities are limited but your in Chamonix! We have stayed their about 5 times and I think they could do better with their breakfast options. As a couple we would not eat about 40 euros food in the morning. Overall ok nice and handy for town but far enough to be in a quieter part so you won't get a lot of noise.

« The hotel looked like a back packers! »

When we arrived we had to climb over building materials and tools to get from the car park to reception. We arrive in reception but couldn’t understand the reservationists over the construction noise. There was a sign on reception desk saying that the water to the building would be disconnected between 8am to 4 pm daily. The lift was not working and wouldn’t be running for approximately 2 weeks. We explained the this wasn’t good enough and wanted to see the manager. The manager wouldn’t see us but relayed that if we wanted to leave we would receive a full refund, so we did!

« I would stay here again »

It was all well. The bedroom style matches perfectly with the city, room as clean and warm, bed was comfy. Good shower too. Breakfast was beyond amazing, I don't think I have ever seen so many options. My sister's bedroom had a broken heating, which made the living room/second bedroom colder than it should be (but she didn't complain so I can't say the hotel didn't deal with it). A point for improvement: as a silver member, I'm entitled to a free drink on arrival. In previous places I got a drink of my choice from the bar. This time, all I got was a small bottle of water which was not enough for me and my husband.
