We stayed at the Novotel Canberra for one night following a short-visit to attend a funeral. The reception staff and hospital staff at breakfast the next morning were, without exception, well-presented, courteous, polite and helpful.

We had a quick stay at the Canberra Novotel between trips and came away well rested. Great spot and very helpful staff. We were concerned at the state of the corridors but the rooms were fine - with good beds and nice amenities. The bar was inviting and the bar staff very helpful.

Room, pool and breakfast were nice. The onsite parking was incredibly small and tight. I requested an in and out ticket, and when I came back late at night the parking was 100% full. There were three other cars in there in the same position. When I asked reception, they said to just leave the car anywhere in the car park. I wasn't too upset with this, but another guest was checking in at the same time and was not happy with the situation and the night manager didn't really treat that guest very well.

The room was inexpensive so that was a plus and it was value for money. The room was dated, we upgraded to a one bedroom suite although the doors to the bedroom did not close properly and were ajar, regardless of the price this is something you would expect to not happen, room was dated but as the price was great so not an issue. Buffet breakfast is great! Service for both visits were slow, had to ring twice to get a trolley brought to our room for our bags as it took a while. In the first visit also had to call twice to get the sofa bed made up, 2nd call was made at least an hour and half after the first as we went out for dinner and came back to an unmade bed. Upon check out there were 3 people behind the counter but only one person serving and the line quickly built up, it took a while waiting to be served and was a little frustrating just seeing people sitting behind the counter not doing anything (would have been understandable if they were on the phone or at least doing something but honestly they were just sitting there).

disappointing, the room & food were great,however being a accor silver member,you would think you would get a better deal than someone who isn't,but apparently not!' we book a double room for $240,however a friend of ours book the same night ,the day before for $150,he then got upgraded,plus free parking & then received a full breakfast for ...$1,might be best to cancel the membership as i can't see any advantage at all!

The room was clean and spacious for our family if 2 adults and 2 kids. The hotel staff that we encountered from reception, cleaners, servers were friendly and accommodating. The food for the breakfast buffet was satisfying and delicious. The pool, sauna and spa area was clean with neatly laid towels on the seats. Loved staying here which was also a quick walk to everything!

Massive stains on the carpet in the public areas on my floor. Staff were struggling with the car parking chaos - where were cars located? 1 staff, but 8 people waiting for cars. Staff: "Where is your car?" Customer: "I don't know - staff parked it". Staff: "Which car park is it in?" Customer: "I don't know - you parked it" Staff:"Yes, but do you know which car park we parked it in?" STUPID. 2 staff attending to check outs: my count - 15 people waiting. When I raised it with staff :" oh yes - we were fully booked last night" SO WHY ONLY 2 STAFF AT THE DESK?

« Wow what dirty carpets you have. »

The room was tidy but the walk down the hall ways felt like a dirt ally way in a slum. That made me feel uneasy about the place altogether. It gave me a mental picture that all night the undeseribles were wandering up and down the hall even though that is not possible. On a goid note your breakfast served in the dining room was fabulous. Id come back for breakfast but not for a stay.

The room was fine and well serviced. Carpet in the hallways a bit grubby with stains. Parking arrangements a little onerous.
