I was happy with my room although it was very cold the night I arrived. The staff at breakfast were very helpful. I do think you could improve the quality and presentation of the food served at breakfast.

Staff and hotel are generally pleasant however there is a great deal of chatting between the staff in the presence of the guests which appears 'unprofessional'.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the years and have always been satisfied with both the friendliness of the staff and my room. Your staff are still as lovely as they always are, the room not so. In fact this room should not be used at all. Apart from the constant noise of the heating system, whooshing and clicking which goes on all night even when it is switched off, the thick black mould in the window and surround is totally unacceptable. The room number is 609 on the 6th floor.

« Fine but dated decor »

No issues, staff were helpful, there was not a lot of noise (although it was a bit loud when neighbour flushed toilet) , bathroom and sheets were clean. Bed a decent size. The only two improvement suggestions are, 1 if you are going to have 2 single beds together, that’s fine, but get a thicker matress protector, so that the join is less noticeable. When you are on your own especially, you want to spread out, but the join stops you. 2. Decor is really dated, I imagine it would be more expensive if it was done up, so that’s why I got the room as cheap as I did, but yeah, it really needs new carpets, wallpaper and a lick of paint.

Stay has been blighted by some shortcomings. - The positives - Same room each week - Block booking flexibility - Early continental style breakfast has been good, with fresh fruit salad available rather than the can of peaches in syrup that was becoming commonplace. Plus the usual ham and cheese, bread and rolls, croissants, some limited fresh fruit and cereal. - Room always clean and tidy - Reception always pleasant and helpful. - Now have a TV remote that works The negatives - No newspaper available at breakfast ( always used to have previous day's available, as delivery is later than breakfast) - No Wi-Fi (This week)

The hotel is centrally located with good parking close by, it also benefits from being located near the main shopping area and is close to the old town which is very good. The hotel staff are great and cannot do enough to help with any request, the price is very reasonable as well. I've never known it to be noisy and the rooms are well specified and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Stevenage.

Sink in bathroom didn't drain so everytime I used it it left all the dirty stagnebt water which very very slowly drained. No plugs near bed so couldn't charge and use phone etc. Coat outside my window which had obviously been thrown down from upper room (was on level 2 so flat roof infront of window). Corridor smelt damp and 'not nice public bathroom swell'. Room spacious, nice shower, warm, free view TV. Bed comfy, extra pillows were provided. Had 2 single bed zipped together which is bigger than a queen but the zipped together quilts are not great. Cheap and cheerful though friendly staff. The corridor was the worst but as there's no way of avoiding. But room smelt OK.
