« Well placed, comfortable hotel »

The hotel was exacrly what I was looking for when staaying in Coventry with agroup of friends. It is 5-10 minutes walk from the station and from the city centre. The staff were very supportive. I was especially impressed when a trainee was encouraged to top my beer glass to the very top! The rooms were comfortable. I would be prepared to stay there again when visitibg Coventry.

« Too Expensive and slow service »

£135 per night was expensive enough, £5 Parking really ????, Food service was so slow staff having disagreements with customers. no iron in room when I did ask the board was broken, hairs in bathroom. Mentioned on checkout but was not increased to hear my comments. Lets see if anyone contacts me after this. Wont use your brand again

I was sorry to hear of your disappointment with regard to the cost of the car parking at the hotel. As with most city center hotels, the hotel does indeed charge for parking. I understand that this is one of the few central hotels able to provide guests with on site parking, and that the rates offered are very competitive. Nonetheless, I am sorry that you were not aware of this charge prior to your stay; this should have been clearly communicated. Also sorry to learn of the delay you experienced in the restaurant. Your comments have been reviewed with the Food and Beverage Manager and corrective measures have been implemented to avoid a similar situation occurring in the future. « Terrible food and hard pillow. »

I was greeted in a friendly way by the reception staff working the evening of the 4th November. They were helpful and polite. I arrived after 9:30 and wanted to take some food to my room, which I did. The food was terrible if I hadn't been so tired and had been in the reataurant I would have sent it back. As it was, I had paid for it and was exhausted from travelling. I ordered a ceasar salad main dish and onion rings. This was the absolute worst salad I have ever eaten. It was like it was made by a 5 year old child. The large bowl contained very little sliced cos lettuce, that had not been washed and was gritty. This was topped by some slices of cucumber (??in a ceasar), small and hard croutons and and diced pieces of rubbery cheese. To complete it, the bad quality dressing was poured over the top. It all tasted store bought and cheap and gritty. It was not even tossed together. The onion rings were greasy. It was a bad experience. Thankfully, the staff were very nice.

Nice room, friendly staff. It is unfortunate you can’t get to town except through an underpass. I had to pop to a shop late and night and it was a fightening experience.

Ideal location for the University Engineering Faculty. Good breakfast, quiet, clean and comfortable room. The sockets on a cable is a good idea.

« Slightly disappointed »

Stay here on several occasions as family live locally last time we stayed only a few weeks ago I gave a good review as the hotel had had a refurb and the towels were good and fluffy but on this occasion one of the towels was virtually threadbare in places. We were also considering staying for breakfast however as happened the last time we stayed the receptionist was on her own and so busy we didn't bother and just left our card key on the side. This is now the second time this has happened so we will just go elsewhere for breakfast.

Stayed for one night, rooms were good, spacious and space efficient. Loo had a slight smell coming from the extractor fan and there was a lack of toilet amenities. Other than this was perfect. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, would stay again and highly reccomend

It’s a lovely ibis in the centre of town, only rated it a 6 as the food was suboptimal. The burgers were burnt and they had ran out of cheese (waited for quite a while to be served our food and was informed that they had found cheese).

Excellent. Staff extremely helpful and one lady (she is very into eco things and the environment which is excellent in your business and to be encouraged) was eager to look into a comment we made that contrary to your policy towels were changed every day regardless of where they were left. Room and decor far better than older and like the touches of USB sockets and eco lights. On arrival our keys didn't work in the room - suspect a faulty door system - not great in a newly refurbished hotel but there was a spare room two doors away and the staff just issued new key cards - problem solved. One comment not directly related to this hotel but to Group policy. We had a minor issue over changing a booking which we now understand the logic behind the inability to help with but do think it would be better if you could build in a system to deal with this in the future. We had booked two nights in Coventry followed by three nights in IBIS Styles NEC, both of which were on Prepaid non-refundable bookings. Due to problems with work on a car it would have suited us to extend our stay in Coventry and shorten the one in NEC. This we were told could be done but we wouldn't get a refund on the night in NEC. I had hoped that because we were changing that night for one in another of your hotels that some flexibility could have been shown. It meant us taking a train to NEC one evening then back the following morning to collect the car, it also slightly shortened our time at the show we were attending at NEC, neither of which were major - just not helpful. It wasn't a major thing because the two hotels are so close together but had they been at a distance this could have been a major cost and inconvenience. I agree it is unusual circumstances and we did book non-refundable bookings but I feel that it would be good PR if customers could trade a night in one hotel for another - subject to paying any excess rate and rooms being available of course. « Fine overall but appalled to see a very poor vegetarian menu for dinner. »

Suitable overall but I had intended to eat in and had to walk out alone in the rain as the menu for dinner was very poor. The only thing I could eat as a vegetarian was a cos salad with croutons and salad dressing. very dated menu which then made everything feel dated.

« Pleasantly surprised. »

Although the hotel was a budget hotel I was pleasantly surprised by the decor , tea making facilities in room was not great and there was a smell down the corridoor from the public toilets for the whole time we was there , was clean but was room for improvement.
